Arjun is really someone to draw motivation from. The guy didn't get invites like Gukesh, Pragg or Vidit...but didn't see it as a problem. Played open tournaments against low rated players where even a draw meant losing much rating points...and still kept pushing his rating. Now that he is 2800+ some people call him "overrated" duh! The guy is a beast of a player given his playing style and tenacity. Hats off Arjun!
I have realized in chats and in the comments, the ratings of many such commenters is very low. Without engine, they will not have any clue at all even in basic positions, hence I stopped taking them seriously. They saying overated doesn't mean anything. The style of chess played by Arjun is exciting and dynamic. His games are filled with lots of possibilities. We are lucky to see such player playing for India.
Great win today..if he manages to win Chennai grand masters, it can seal his spot for next candidates...and from then on all indian chess fans ll dream of Gukesh winning world championship and Arjun winning candidates....then the next world chess championship ll be an all Indian affair.... hope this happens...finger crossed

thats why i like indian chess community. they are so good at enhancing their players and bring out the full potential. support, training and trust, also indians are very humble rarely showing any rude gestures.

The reason Magnus is modern goat is because he stayed above 2800 for more than a decade, that is a great feat. Arjun is very young and is ambitious, hope he reaches the mark soon. I wish he becomes world champion in the future.

So, whatever your last rating in a month-end, that will be your official fide rating published every month. This is the official rating taken in for any chess rating discussions.

Playing right move order is very important against Arjun. First Amin delayed c4 and then Rd6, lost all the advantage/equality.
