    Interesting, but if you put a drawn diagram it was better.

    I can only get the circuit to interrupt when it shorts. I am trying to get it to interrupt around 5a. Any idea why I can't get the potentiometer to change the trip current?

    How does it measure the current? There is no resistor in the line to develop a voltage.

    Can I use for variable powersupply? Or what i need to change

    • @imnotbeluga007

      You can use it, but BEFORE the voltage and current regulation circuitry. It's not made for a wide voltage range, as it uses voltage drop to detect an overcurrent condition. But be sure to use a "high power" resistor, 5W at least. The resistance will cause a voltage drop as current is flowing through, which shuts off the relay once the voltage drops too much. It may not stop the short instantly, but it will decrease the time to a few milliseconds.
      5W is the maximum power dissipation of said resistor. This doesn't mean you're limited to just 5W loads, though.

    Pls, how I control the positive wire instead of negative wire in this circuit.
    Pls help

    • @konm08
      @konm08 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you don't. protecting the negative wire is a lot safer than the positive one, because the current control can be monitored through the negative and not the positive terminal. all sorts of BMS and stuff like that follow this rule (if you don't believe me, circuit trace a BMS to see for yourself).

    What is the reason for placing the potentiometer?

    • @edenlumbanraja5541
      @edenlumbanraja5541 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      By puttinv potentiometer and set resistant,risk of exploding high current because of short circuit is eliminated

    What is the maximum current the circuit can handle.

    • @imnotbeluga007
      @imnotbeluga007 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on relay current, but it's better to draw 1/2 or 1/3 the maximum current (eg. 5A for a 15A relay). Higher currents will wear the contacts out faster.
      But I don't recommend such a simple circuit for currents above 2A. Sure, it works, but it is far from perfect.

    I think this is a useless circuit u have to make strongly short circuit to cut the circuit. In industrial we use the current limit circuit for that. In this method the circuit can catch fire at the same time as an open circuit. It may work only for low current circuit.

    Can i use it in 9v power supply???.

    • @raggimarco5621
      @raggimarco5621 ปีที่แล้ว

      U can use all power supply u want.. U may only look the max voltage and current of relay and change resistor for for the right led voltage

    • @imnotbeluga007
      @imnotbeluga007 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on relay. 12V relay will work, as from experience I've seen them trigger at 8V.
      And, the LEDs aren't required. It's not like high current flows through them...
