Thank you Terri! To answer your question, ... worrying. I've been an expert worrier for years! I've been working on this since I started meditating and becoming more mindful, which has definitely been helpful. I can't wait to read the guide you have provided! Thank you and be well!

Thanks so much for this episode. So helpful. The one that really got me was watching stuff online (which I usually pair with procrastination) oftentimes to avoid worrying!😂 I have got to get more intentional and disciplined with my phone. Thanks again for this, Terri Cole!!😊

30 years ago I unfortunately entered into relationship with an addict. I was groomed as a girl, by a narcissistic mother and father who was not plugged into the kids, to be the mommy. Mother abdicated her role as mother and shifted her responsibilities…household & meeting needs of siblings….to me, the oldest daughter. I as I learned this year, was the scapegoat. I was codependent and as I worked with a therapist while in relationship with this guy, she tried to help me see I was sacrificing myself to,save him. I didn’t get it then. I just didn’t get it. 💔☹️ and I stayed with him on and off for 3 additional years. Looking back, I beat myself up because of what I could not achieve because all my attention was on him & his needs. If any of you know you’re codependent, get away and get help. You deserve better…you deserve to live your life and be you. The you that you don’t have to apologize for. I lost lots of years being codependent….being mommy to the world, instead of being my own good parent. When you know better, you do better!! Appreciating you Terri……I’m learning, growing, beginning to thrive!!

Terri, I am a psychotherapist too, and I have only just discovered you. Thank you for these illuminating discussions on boundaries, for your disclosures about father wounds, and so much more. My first profession was High School English Teacher, so I know a thing or two about teaching, about building information so others can absorb it. In this regard, and others, you shine. Thank you ❣️🤗

    1) Taxing relationships where nothing is easy. That person is never happy, whatever you do. Or they are too critical. 2) Worrying ( the productive flip side of that is preparedness, and thats basically all you can do, and you stop this energy leak by this 3) Procrastination It is energy stealing. Set up schedules. You do your best work when you are expansive, not constricted. Procrastination robs you of ( Put it in your schedule). 4) Binge watching, esp if you do it late into the night. 5) Overworking (Have a schedule) 6) Being codependent. You are overfunctioning, overdoing, being overly invested in the feeling states of the people in our lives to our own detriment. Meddling in other people's lives, being in fix- it mode. 7) Disordered boundaries. ( what relationships inspire you, energize you and which deplete you?) (;Have clear working hours).

I've been "working on myself" for over 2 decades, with the sole goal being a healthy self image & the ability to love myself in a way that lasts more than a few days or weeks. I have come a long way, but stabilizing in self love still eludes me. I'm tired of the way I feel and isolating. My energy leaks are Procrastination & Binging TV.

Generations of worriers - exactly! My Mum is like that, and once I told her - You attract disasters by your thoughts. Try attracting better stuff )) As for procrastination - I am into it with slight hope that eventually I won't have to do it. Scarlet O'Hara helped me with her phrase "I'll think about it tomorrow" - not to worry today at all. Thank you!

Her comment: "Tomorrow is another day" for me - meant: I could rest; I could start again; I could hope but later, when I had the energy.

Thank you so much for this video . I really needed to reclaim my energy exhausted these days. I will use this for making useful choices to change my life and enrich my days from now on . Especially with the holidays approaching . This is a true gift . I love your work . I am wanting to retire as a nurse and do something different as I am an empath and I am a giver . Now it's ME time.

What counts as binge watching? I am not up past midnight to watch Netflix, but still kind of waste time on Netflix and TH-cam. For example if I watch just episode of my fav show is already 2 hours!
