      True the burden of people pressuring you for signals and asking silly questions. Why would I want that if I make millions? But the other side of it if you have read the book the disciplines trader is that you can be a good trader but not have discipline, so you can spot the trades but you better at giving the signals than following it through on your own. Pschologically its less of a burden to trade with money that is not yours.

      The flaw with you statement, is you’re not realising that making a percentage of your total investment on stocks will never add up to 10 000 people buying your 2000$ course. It’s like a professor of business, or a sound engineer, they’ll make hourly pay, or get freelance work but that’s capped to the amount of hours in a day. Selling a course will always be more lucrative than shorting for 1% profit daily of your total stock investment

      What about those that would like to empower others as well. It’s the lack of wanting to help others that the mindset is broken. Let’s take this TH-cam video as an example, why would you want people to watch this video? To like, comment and subscribe, not Are you alone making money off from the views but through the likes and subscription as well right? Same with Forex (Multiple streams of income). There’s no doubt there’s scammers in the Forex industry, but because you’re failure in being disciplined, consistent and the WILL to want to make it work, now every Forex mentor or trader gets put under the umbrella. It takes many professions 5yrs or more to obtain a degree but yet we want a course and time on the charts to take us less than 3yrs to make the BIG DOLLAR. DO MORE RESEARCH, many pro traders took more than 3yrs to become profitable and now successful.

    In 2018 I also subscribed for one course which the guy just disappeared after 6 months when we were about to start the advance training. I got demoted and in 2020 I started learning from TH-cam and only late last year I started to be profitable. I have nothing against these courses they sell, I have grown to understand that these courses are the same as university courses, some will make it and some won't it all depends on a person and how bad you want it

    • @StefDev
      @StefDev  ปีที่แล้ว +26

      Glad to hear you've become profitable, well done and keep killing it.
      I would however push back on the comment regarding University courses, depending of course on what you study.
      I for example studied Computer Sciences and the ROI on that has been massive and I'm only 4 years in. Usually Uni courses have a governing body behind them approving the content and if you apply for enough jobs with a degree behind your name, you'll get it.
      A degree can still get you a really high paying job if you study in the right field.
      Whereas these Fx courses have no success statistics, no governing body and the chances are not nearly as high for success as it would be with a good degree behind your name.
      The gurus like the talk smack on a 9 to 5. But the 9 to 5ers can feed their families, Where that's very rarely the case with their course reviews. These courses unfortunately do not lead to success in most cases.

    Trading is based on probability precisely risk to reward. It's not some get rich quick scheme or lottery. It's calculated risk and not everyone will understand it. If you think trading is gambling or some kind of lottery, withdraw all your money from banks because they trade your money on a larger scale on derivatives. It's a high income skill therefore not everyone is supposed to make money.

    What i realised is that trading is mostly a psychology game. Its not really about the ultimate strategy , becuase the odds remain the same. A strategy just give you a bias , but with that bias people still set a unrealistic tp levels and a super tight stop loss. If you want to get R4k of a trade then just increase the lot size instead of expecting the market to move 500 pips with your micro accout. The market is always changing from buys to sells so find a strategy that gives you a 50 or 100 pip bias then set your tp there with a confortable lot size 🤷🏽‍♂️

    • @StefDev
      @StefDev  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Trading definitely is very psychological. I just don't know if it's worth the effort to be completely honest. From what I've seen and heard, the 1% of people that actually become profitable in trading take around 5-10 years before they become consistently profitable. It's a very hard skill to learn.
      The reason I say it's not worth it, is because even at those amount of years, some people still fail. Your chances at succeeding at something like Ecommerce, TH-cam, FreeLancing, Starting your own business, has a much higher chance of becoming successful than trading. But that's just my personal opinion I've formed based on my own research.
      Everyone should definitely evaluate each avenue and decide for themselves what looks like the best possible route to follow.

However, South African traders are particularly bad, claiming to make over 100% return on a single trade consistently. Hi Stef, I have been through this myself, I am being honest with you, yes forex is challenging but is doable, my advice is to go to youtube and get free resources from ICT(the Fair Value Gap concept) practice on demo until profitable, trust me is working. My second piece of advice is after you are profitable on the demo, you will need a minimum of $5000 and only risk 1%, you will see changes, one of the reasons many people fail is under capitalisation, so wait until you have good capital.

    I see the rising interest rate as a very big problem, as more investors will definitely pull out more money from the Stock market and forex. This might have worked when I was still invest-ing with a couple thousand dollars, but it is more difficult now to decide whether to pull out more than $365k from my port-folio. I know some inves-tors still make that despite the strong bear market. In wish I could pull that feat

    I am not into forex or trading, but this video has outlined so much in terms of these courses that people sell. It is also important to note, in my opinion, that these course-based "scams" do not apply to trading only. For example, most self help books are rubbish books, written by rubbish authors that want to make money. "Rich dad poor dad" is one example. They take advantage of your poverty.

And they don't tell you what you really need to know because that's how they keep you subscribed. My advice is take the time to understand forex properly and how it works. Once you understand it for yourself you'll even know when a signal is wrong and trade the opposite.

    Very interesting. We all get what we deserve, the universe does not make mistakes. I am sure some of your mentors was fly by night and some could have made you profitable if you just stuck with there trade setups. Choose one strategy + few selected markets which you trade at the same time ( London open/New York open ) daily. General knowledge of several different strategy on a lot of pears at random times is a guaranty for failure.
    You need to become an expert on ONE strategy, and the only way that can be archived is through time spent on the charts applying ONE strategy. ( 4 to 12 month ) The problem is always the trader. His subcontious mind and conscious mind is not in alignment. Thats deep I know. Trading is 90% Pcholigy, 8% Money management and only 2% strategy. You got scammed focusing on the 2% on becoming a successful trader.

Out of the probably +/- 50 I've been in contact with, there were 3 of them that made consistent money over the last 2+ years. My experience so far has just been that when it's not the gurus scamming you, it's the brokers. Which leads to the industry having a really bad reputation.
      But agreed, with years of training in front of the charts, a big account where you risk max 0.25% (maybe) per trade, and a long term focus on your trades, there is a chance at profitability. I just think there might be "easier" and better ways to make money outside of the 9 to 5.

    You were paying school fees; how did you think trading will come to you? Will it just fall from the sky into your head? If you had just put in the work and committed the hours, you would not feel aggrieved. Mentors are necessary, whatever is your experience with them, you will always learn, good or bad, just like you did. This video is exactly that, the result of your learning, and whatever you now know of Forex, mostly came from those and mentors. The truth is, TH-cam

    I said to the one lady selling a robot making 80% per month, "if you are making 80% per month with trading why would you share it with anyone else or still be living in a small house in
    Boksburg, when R10,000 growing at 80% per month becomes R11,568,313.81 (11.5 million) in twelve months, or R 13,382,588,450.52 (13.3 billion) after 24 months. That's enough to buy Phala Phala Game Lodge fully furnished with the couches stuffed with dollars.

    I was sure I encountered a scam like that in the past but was still not sure. Good thing I didn’t go through with it tho.
    Dude was charging 2k for his mentorship. He claimed he started trading in 2009, asked for his track record and when I got it, it showed that he was profitable from day one. He didn’t even have a losing trade recorded. That the red flag that I needed.

    Hi Stef, what a sad story man....why don't you try crypto? or the Nasdaq or SP500? I've also tried forex but got burned badly. With stocks you can open a real account with USA cents and do not have to trade demo. One $ = 100Cent, so R1000 will give you roughly 6500 US Cent to trade with. Much better that a demo, and also better to manage risk to reward ratio before you go bigger. Just my thought.

      Hi Hennie, thanks for your comment and thanks for watching. I stopped short term trading at the start of 2022. My focus turned to long term investing, getting better at my software development craft. I also started focusing on content creation. Since I've stopped trying to "Get Rich Quick", ironically enough, my salary sky rocketed, my investments grew and I'm starting to see financial success.
      I do appreciate the advice, but I think where I currently am in life, the only stock investing I'd probably still do in the long run is a monthly contribution in a Unit Trust to get that slower but steady growth. That 10-15% per year adds up and has a bigger statistical chance of doubling or tripling over a long period than I believe day trading has.
