    • @PorterJustPorter
      @PorterJustPorter 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +100

      Yep, but here's the kicker -- there isn't one note of original music in the entire film. It wasn't until Hateful Eight that he actually hired a composer to accompany the usual samples. It's funny cuz younger folks are actually reacting, (as you pointed out) to the usage of these samples in newer material. But what's lost on them is how obscure all this music was before Tarantino got a hold of it. Transformers, for example, got the sample from Kill Bill! The Ooh Ooh song, yes, was in an annoyjng commercial, but the commercial took it from this! It was unique and cool when we first heard it! Now, all this music is cliché. It's weird to explain to newer fans cuz Tarantino is also sampling, but let's face it... he introduced the music to general audiences.

    These two movies weren't just popular films, they were cultural phenomenoms. Arguably the most successful of all films by Tarantino, they reshaped pop culture during the 2000s. You will find countless references to them in music, film, tv and other forms of media. Many things that have become tropes ever since, were originated in this movie, and you will also hear its soundtrack used in many other movies. Kill Bill itself was inspired by the grindhouse explotaition films of the sixties and seventies, that's where its aesthetic comes from. Originally, Tarantino planned a third film to involve Nikki (the little girl from the first scene). He was supposed to film it ten years after this one to allow the actress to grow up. But eventually he lost interest in the project. Can't wait to see your reaction to the second one, really good as well.

    Fun fact , what people originally think is the last scene ( the bride getting shot) is actually the first scene, and what they think is the first scene ( showing up to vernita greens house in the pussywagon) is actually the last scene of volume 1 movie which occurs after she kills Oren Ishi, she flies back to the US to drive to vernitas and kill her. The pussywagon is used as a bridge to invert the beginning and the end of the movie.😊
    So Tarentino subverts expectations off the bat.
    And there are little things such as when Oren Ishi says ' you may not last 5 minutes', the subsequent fight scene is 4 minutes 50 seconds until shes dead from when the music starts at the fight.

    Ok. Y’all are all wrong. This was not a total Tarantino baby. While filming “Pulp Fiction”, between shots, Quinton and Uma would sit around and talk about how they loved the old 1970’s Spaghetti Western Kung Fu movies, like with Bruce Lee. So they started talking about about things like , “it would be so cool if he did this.” And the other would say, “oh! And what if she did that.” And Uma said, “why give her a name at first? How about if we call her The Bride.”
    They kept fleshing out the story line throughout Pulp Fiction and Tarantino wrote what they had talked about. That’s why it’s a “Q&U Production.” They used music from the beginning to the mid 1970’s, which is what they were going for anyway. Flight of the Bumblebee is dope! I’m a brass player and that piece scares me to death.
    While they were scouting locations, they came to a bar where the all girl Japanese group, The 5-6-7-8’s were playing. They were in high heels and then they took them off when they did “The Gong-Gong Song.” Tarantino said that they are going to be in his movie!
    I’ve got the soundtrack and can sing all of the songs in Japanese.
    Blake, I know you’re tired bless your heart but stay awake in the films.
    Lastly, everyone says they love Tarantino film but NO ONE will watch “Four Rooms!” The best of
    Comedy I’ve ever seen!

From what I understand, Tarantino was told it was so bloody in its first cut that it would have to be NC-17, so this was a way around the rating requirements.

    O-Ren and The Bride bowing to each other was something Lucy Liu suggested to Tarantino because it was something she learned while training for the film and the reasoning behind it was because while the two were enemies they still needed to respect each other because they’re both warriors.

    The yellow jumpsuit was inspired by Bruce Lee's iconic outfit in the movie *Game of Death*. Additionally, Chiaki Kuriyama, who played the chain-and-ball-wielding assassin Gogo Yubari, her character, Girl #13 Takako Chigusa, in *Battle Royale*, also wore a similar suit. *Battle Royale*, which depicts the Japanese government forcing teenagers to fight to the death until only one remains, predates the *Hunger Games* series.
