I have had my ebike for a few years now, they are brilliant for older people where the fitness is not quite what it was. Everyone wants to know the range on a charge but there are too many variables to put a figure on it. Of course the best part is that you can use all the cycle routes which you can't do on your motorcycle. Didn't see too many people around, perhaps it was a bit hot for them. Nice review Mark really enjoyed it.
The problem with these (and others is the price). I had anold mountain bike with v brakes and for a laugh I bought a 500w hub kit and banged it on. And it's quick. 22mph, with a throttle. And doing 22mph actually deters car drivers from overtaking you at any opportunity. I didn't bother with the cut off brake sensor or the pedal assist, just the throttle works fine. And the best of all is that I can carry a shed load of stuff on it..easily 20kg of various stuff that I couldn't do on a normal bike. £380quid for the conversion and about an hour and half to do.
Mark, I really enjoy your motorcycle reviews because of the no nonsense, clear and anti-bias descriptions of each manufacturer you test. @@richardbolitho Thanks for the info. Since I asked Mark, I've had a look at the link he put up, and they do a folding option ( the XF690 ) I've, also, had a look at ' Different Spokes TV's' video, that he put up on the Himiway Cruiser E-Bike. I guess there's a few other options available too. Some research needed, I think, before I decide which one would be best for me. As with all these electric bikes, the range is the thing that always puts me off. On the other hand you can take them on trails that you can't take a petrol powered bike on.
If this is like other e-bikes, it probably takes a few rotations of the pedals before the motor kicks in which can make gaining the initial momentum tricky given the bikes weight, especially on an incline so can you use the "walk mode" you mention to give you an initial push off? I'm also in the UK so if I ordered one would receive the version with the throttle removed as standard to comply with UK law.
@@markpulling12 Thanks for your reply Mark but I don't think I asked the question very clearly. If I leave the throttle in the box, (to comply with UK laws), can I use the "walk mode" button on the handlebars to give me an initial push off up to walking speed at which point my pedalling will have caused the motor to kick in anyway? I just need to know there's something to help you get the heavy bike going initially on those first few rotations of the pedals before the motor kicks in by default.
Thanks Joseph....I've put it on that way on purpose for a more upright comfortable position ....on the cyrusher website there are even pic's of the same lol 😂 Best wishes mark
I have a RAD Mini step thru 2 here in America and it seems a lot of parts are the same like the motor seems to be a 750w bafang and the Shimano gear box and brakes look very similar to my bike too. I have the same size tires also plus the forks are also adjustable. Last year November I paid $1,299 plus tax so almost $1,400 and now they are $1,500 plus tax this year so quite a bit cheaper difference is that my battery is the old style that you can see fully exposed of course in plastic but it has the same voltage and amps
the Shimano 7 speed gearbox is exactly the same one I have on my ebike but I just noticed I don't have the back shock absorbers and my display is not a color display but it's foldable. I can buy a rear rack for about $85 if I wanted one
The rear suspension of the Cyrusher models adds a lot of value. In my experience, a suspension seat post helps but doesn't compare to a full suspension rig.
So if this thing powers itself without pedaling, then I think it's not road legal is it? Came across one of these on the road the other day when motorcycling. He was doing 30, so not legal at all.
No it's only not road legal if you fit the included throttle...you have to pedal at all times ... throttle is legal in some countries... The cruise control feature is on alot of bikes I believe
@@markpulling12 Super review , I think Jimmy is right Mark, in the UK has to be pedal assisted, ( if made after 2015 I think ) if it runs without peddling that would probably count as a throttle. I converted an old mountain bike ,into an eBike (Bafang motor) that has a throttle, but I was assured by the D O T that it was perfectly legal because the bike was 20 years old., though, I wouldn't like to argue the point in court! Looks a super bike, and a lot more powerful than my Bafang 250W 36V
Just another thought Jimmy, about the 30mph, I regularly reach 40mph on my just pedal powered road bike, so the guy might have been peddling like hell! and doing 30 quite legally?
The problem I have with all these random e-bikes is the price. $2K+ gets me a true used motorcycle (or new China bike) or a hell of a bicycle, instead of a generic bike that's kind of heavy with a hub motor and questionable uses - being neither that good of a bicycle or electric. My daughter tried something like this on gravel hilly roads and got hurt due to crappy braking: that wouldn't happen on a real mountain bicycle or a trail cycle.
You have the stem / bars on the wrong way around. That head angle looks very steep, was it twitchy at all? I think if your after an ebike your much better going to a reputable bike shop. I have been riding mountain bikes for going on 30 years and for the money there are much higher specification options available
Thanks I've done that on purpose...I found the riding position much more comfortable and upright with it round that way ... ....no twitchy steering at all the just relaxed with those big chunky tyres Best wishes mark
Hi, WHAT they don,t tell you that not all the bikes have a 750 watt motor, mine has not, i can not get anywhere near 750 watts power. my engwee 500 watt will leave it standing, but should be a lot faster. than it shows. i have asked them to send me a genuine 750 watt rear wheel but so far only suggestions to change the meter settings, i have done all that to maximum. but if the motor is a dud, nothing gets changed, very poor service from cy rusher, so be carefull. paul
The motors are restricted to 250 w for UK ....if you disconnect the white wire on the speed controller....it gives full power ...off road off course ( wink 😜) Best regards mark
the only problem with this bike is the spoke type wheels. should not be used these days. obsolete. otherwise a perfect all round bike. i like alloy wheels, no broken spokes or getting punctures, like my engwe folding bike.cy rusher please put alloy wheels on them, and i would buy one.
Double take. A bicycle review is a bit different. I would perhaps spend another £500 for a known brand and larger wheels for off road riding. I converted a mountain bike using an electric kit. Credit to you for something different.

Last thought. Looking at their range the XF650 would be my choice. But I think I would probably spend the money on 50cc (or electric equivalent.)
Many thanks for the feedback 😊
If this is like other e-bikes, it probably takes a few rotations of the pedals before the motor kicks in which can make gaining the initial momentum tricky given the bikes weight, especially on an incline so can you use the "walk mode" you mention to give you an initial push off? I'm also in the UK so if I ordered one would receive the version with the throttle removed as standard to comply with UK law.
Yes they come with the throttle removed you can add it if you want
Cheers mark
@@markpulling12 Thanks for your reply Mark but I don't think I asked the question very clearly. If I leave the throttle in the box, (to comply with UK laws), can I use the "walk mode" button on the handlebars to give me an initial push off up to walking speed at which point my pedalling will have caused the motor to kick in anyway? I just need to know there's something to help you get the heavy bike going initially on those first few rotations of the pedals before the motor kicks in by default.
Oh ok yes you could use walk mode ...but if you start off in a low ish gear it's easy enough to get going ...ps these are brilliant bikes btw
Hi, seems a very capable E bike , to get around on . Thanks for the video .😉
Thanks...it's great to ride :)
Just for comparison, how much do you weigh?
Hi I'm 75 kg :)
heard the back suspension is a little soft if you are a bit tubby so do u know the model thats on that bike
It's just a generic cheap spring shock that's very stiff ...alot of owners swap it out for an air shock
Cheers mark
are they harder to pedal and ride than normal when the power runs out?
Yes they are ...it's not hard though to keep an eye on the power as the percentage guage is very accurate
Cheers mark
Nice legs Paul. lol...Good review as always...You doing e-bikes and e-mountain bike reviews now too mate 🙂
Thanks it's mark lol
Yes I might do more e bikes in the future
@@markpulling12 Sorry Mark, don't know why i put Paul., lol
@@markpulling12 Oh please nooooooo
Is your bike in the review derestrict?
Restricted in the review Andrew but it has a powerful hub motor and can be easily derestricted cheers mark
Good work mate just wanted to note, and I could be wrong but I belive you have the stem around the wrong way ...
Thanks Joseph....I've put it on that way on purpose for a more upright comfortable position ....on the cyrusher website there are even pic's of the same lol 😂
Best wishes mark
Excellent review. Always on the nail.
Thanks for the comment Richard
the Shimano 7 speed gearbox is exactly the same one I have on my ebike but I just noticed I don't have the back shock absorbers and my display is not a color display but it's foldable. I can buy a rear rack for about $85 if I wanted one
The rear suspension of the Cyrusher models adds a lot of value. In my experience, a suspension seat post helps but doesn't compare to a full suspension rig.
You have got the handlebar stem on the wrong way around back to front
Haha ok cheers I'll look into that...that's the way the stem was when I got it ;) I just bolted on the handlebars Many thanks
At 6.35 the "alternative" is not an alternative look/layout its a SUPPLIMENTARY INFORMATION screen. Well it is on my kommoda anyway.....
Thanks I've done that on purpose...I found the riding position much more comfortable and upright with it round that way ... ....no twitchy steering at all the just relaxed with those big chunky tyres
Best wishes mark
Would a person with limited leg strength be able to ride this?
Oh yes definitely the power in high mode is very impressive
Best wishes mark
Great fun! Something a bit different.
Thanks Daniel yes it's so nice to cruise down cycle ways away from traffic etc cheers mark
@@markpulling12 I bet! We drove through the New Forest last week en route to the Isle of Wight. Thought I might see you!!!
The battery is the biggest cost of the bike, it would be nice if it was 52v 20ah for that price.
Nah not for me , not enough h.p. Is it a v twin ?
Hi gazza no it's a parallel twin 270 crank lol 😆😅
It looks good, goes well.
Thanks nik
Excellent review.
Hi, WHAT they don,t tell you that not all the bikes have a 750 watt motor, mine has not, i can not get anywhere near 750 watts power. my engwee 500 watt will leave it standing, but should be a lot faster. than it shows. i have asked them to send me a genuine 750 watt rear wheel but so far only suggestions to change the meter settings, i have done all that to maximum. but if the motor is a dud, nothing gets changed, very poor service from cy rusher, so be carefull. paul
The motors are restricted to 250 w for UK ....if you disconnect the white wire on the speed controller....it gives full power ...off road off course ( wink 😜)
Best regards mark
the only problem with this bike is the spoke type wheels. should not be used these days. obsolete. otherwise a perfect all round bike. i like alloy wheels, no broken spokes or getting punctures, like my engwe folding bike.cy rusher please put alloy wheels on them, and i would buy one.
Thanks Paul ....engwe engine pro what a bike !!!!
If i need a Russian Bog then i will know where to go.
Haha lol 😂
Double take. A bicycle review is a bit different. I would perhaps spend another £500 for a known brand and larger wheels for off road riding. I converted a mountain bike using an electric kit. Credit to you for something different.
Many thanks Jonathan....it was great fun 😊
I’m giving you a month off. Walk around in your pants and watch crap on the telly and get off your trolley.
The handlebar is wrong! 🙈🤣
I know I did it that way for a more comfortable upright riding position
Best regards mark
@@markpulling12 Ah, OK! 🙂👍
Oh also way overpriced for myself
a thumbs down for the irritating company name . otherwise ......
G'day Mark, you have gone over to the dark side, Electric Bike, the hair on the back of the neck are standing up and a pushbike to boot, in OZ know as a sweaty or a treadly, give me the thump, thump, thump of a petrol engine who cares if l ride in the smog or have trouble breathing, Cheers mate, the end is near, have a good day,Neil.
Haha yes Neil an electric bike whatever next ...I really enjoyed it actually in the country side but yes can't beat the roar of a petrol engine 👌 cheers mark
@@markpulling12 thanks mate just a bit of fun, good thing about Australia, electric power vehicles aren't able to do the required distances and we are set to have petroleum products for a long time.
Ha you realise handlebars are on backwards do you 😂
Yes I put them on that way for a more upright comfortable position .... somewhere on the cyrusher website there is a pic with them that way aswell lol 😆👍
Best wishes mark
@@markpulling12 lol yes I'm hoping to get mine next week,I wondered what would be like backwards as looks more comfortable, great video by the way

Love this review. As a motorcyclist of some 40 years I'm looking for something different and this is it. Good on ya Mark! Not so sure about its name though. Russian Commode?
Thanks Andrew me too ...this is a great bike ...I've been riding cycles for years but this is fun :)
I been riding for 50 yrs , wouldnt buy this crap . Lets be honest here . 62 now looking at a new Hayabusa ,not this crap .
