jamal shaikh the Lexus blows the Audi away as a luxury vehicle, there's just no comparison. This Ls here lacks several options, once you see the hand crafted pleats and glass in the doors plus the entertainment package, panoramic roof, two tone leather, higher wood grain option u'll see the Audi isn't on this level. This Lexus also pioneers so much in tech as well,.with a world.first pedestrian detection and active steering safety system. It has so many luxury features he hasn't even gotten into as well. Plus the exterior and interior design is just miles ahead of the A8. This Ls has the best interior in its class right now.
Your opinion and i respect that really good car BUT... 1. The Transmission in the Lexus is due to it´s combination of a CVT and normal Transmission awfully loud under load and feels super weird. For cruising perfect but for someone who likes a Little sporty touch in thei luxury Sedan meh.2. The handcrafted stuff is top notch no argueing but i prefer the tech in the Audi. I feel like the Infotainment is a Little bit outdated in the lexus 3. The Audi would be on the Level as well if you pick Audi individual interior Options. 4.If i´m not wrong wasn´t it Volvo who introduced first pedestrian detection ? 5.Anyway the AI and safety Features on the Audi are more advanced. First production vehicle with lvl 3 autonoumus driving.Exterior and Interior are obviously of personal liking !!
Leave all that marketing Audi sells to people, i have seen world tests of the S class, Lexus and the A8 semi autonomous and the A8 is the only one that can't steer round bends itself. The Infotainment system in the Lexus isn't dated at all and is as good as anything in its competitors. It's very sharp and well detailed and you can also get google earth view for the map. I have seen it installed in other reviews and the map is super crisp and detailed. The Lexus has a 24 inch heads up display that displays so many things the Audi can't even handle. When it comes to tech both manufacturers have loaded it up and they have their advantages over the other. The Lexus is the first to have autonomous active steering with pedestrian detection. This system is an autonomous feature that engages when the car spots an object or pedestrian crossing from no where. It takes control of the braking and steering of the vehicle. It steers the car away from the object while maintaining its lane as much as possible. It's a world first from Lexus, the automatic or self parking using the Lexus mobile app is also available but not in all markets. It's available for sure in the Japanese market that i have seen stated. There's virtually nothing the Audi can boast off not in the Lexus. But there are luxury features available in the LS not available in the A8. Also remember this a hybrid model, it's not fair to compare the power train and engines of a hybrid model to a gas or diesel model. You should compare the normal LS 500 with the gas or diesel powered A8. From tests conducted by other reviewers the new LS 500 is quieter, has a far better ride than its hybrid variant.
