Absolutely loved Glenn Frey and Don Henley as artists. As far as their personalities go, not so much of a fan. But Don Felder and Joe Walsh? Two of my all time favorite guitarist songwriters and awesome, down to earth guys that you can talk to and easily relate to. My older brother remembers seeing Don play with his band the Maundy Quintet play around Gainesville and central florida. I wish I could have witnessed that! Alas, I was too young to go to the clubs.
Taking a ride/Heavy Metal on the Heavy Metal soundtrack is an amazing song, so much groove and atmosphere, and crunching guitar tone. One of Mr Felders best.
Agree about all he's got left memories. He should have stayed with the Eagles & took what they offered. He thought he was a bigger star than he was i bet if he had to it over he'd take what they offered he's basically a one hit wonder... Hotel California
Don can talk it up! Hotel California is a classic! Even though I liked Punk and Metal as a kid I always liked The Eagles and Journey and mainstream radio rock like that.. 😀 👍 I've never seen The Eagles live but I did see Joe Walsh live for free on Earth Day way back! He was a surprise guest and he was awesome! Really a rOcKeR! Besides The Eagles his other bands and solo stuff is really great! Good to see Mr. Steve Jones and Don on "The Box" today! rOcK oN guys! 😎😀👍

This Jonesy character is so unprofessional and terrible at interviewing. He should do some research before hand and thank His lucky stars that DF is such a professional and pulled this off. Poor Don!
7:44 Wow, this is the biggest revelation in lead guitar history... and live cover band lead guitarists can now finally breathe a sigh of relief for not nailing the Hotel Cal solo every time.
''Hey, Don' want to promote your new album, and tell us the names of everyone who worked on it? sure , Steve, then get on my show. Don't forget to mention that song that everyone knows, I won't, Steve.''.
Love the video content but I have to admit the volume levels are always so low. Plus his accent I have to really listen hard to hear what he saying. Can you please turn up the volume. That way I can control the highest volume on my end. Thank you so much I love the show
Good point.....I mean, who the heck doesn't know that Woodstock happened in August, 1969.....? Especially those who claim to have "been there?" (millions claim that they "were there.")
He was in a band with Stephen Stills in high school, and ended up up their touring band in the 70s, I don't doubt that he knew it was happening and went, he lived in Boston sometime around then.
One question......Henley and Frey fired Don Felder but was it really worth it? The only thing I can figure out is he is no longer in the band. Still has world wide recognition for being lead guitar of the Eagles and still touring singing their songs and still most likely 3rd owner and most definitely has royalty rights.
Don and Joe were a hell of a guitar tandem. Their styles are different, yet they worked so well together. Bernie was great too earlier on, but he was more bluegrass/country than they were, great nonetheless.
Should have stayed & took what they offered thought he was a Star but after he left the Eagles he never was as popular as he thought he'd be . Basically a one hit wonder... Hotel California
Jonesy, "funny you said that because I'm actually related to Tom Jones " Felder, " really " jonesy " no just kidding "........love that sense of humor😅
Don keeps looking to the right every couple of seconds....i feel like i'm going crazy coz i cant stop waiting for him...to look to the right!....poor Jonesy...he could'nt get a word in!
Felder wouldn't shut up long enough for Steve to say anything. He must of said "Ever heard of a Mr. So and So" like 20 times. Yes Mr. Cornball, I have heard of him. Everyone has. No wonder the music on his new album is so corny. But, having said that, Steve does seem tired these days, like it's become a job to him. It seems they use to put him with people who were more relevant to what he's about, a lot of musicians and stuff, who live in LA, and that he knows, would drop by. Even a year or so ago he seemed more eager and involved.
This is my Don! Felder for life. I love Boys of Summer (and other creations) but Henley as a human being is a total asshole. Obv love their classics. Also I love knowing Steve is a fan sleeper too, I totally keep a fan on when I sleep for sound too. Rock on, thanks always Don and Jonesy!

“This guy”? Lol. Yeah, Don was fortunate in ‘74, but Henley and Frey were the lucky ones in ‘76. No Don Felder, no Hotel California, Victim of Love, Those Shoes. Quality, not quantity.
Sick and tired of Don Felder discussing his history with the Eagles, him coming up with the riff to Hotel California, these are all he has . . . the Eagles seldom let him "sing" because he could not carry a tune in a basket, now he is a singer? Don would not be a thing if not employed temporarily with the Eagles . . .
He's a great guitar player. I just always felt he is so phony. Fake laughs and too smooth a talker. Not siding with the other eagles, but idk not sold on him as a person haha.
Tate Thompson he’s phony cause he’s nice and likes to laugh? That’s what happens when you are a good person people refuse to believe it lol and start calling you phony. Sad world we live in I guess everyone has to be an asshole to fit in
Yeah, it is. I could only listen to about 30 seconds of that American R&R song, it was just too corny. It sounds like the type of generic heartland rock that local yokels would self-release in the late 80's.
Yes. Lyrics are cliches. Sounds very much like a 1980’s guitar hero demo. His singing voice is not satisfactory as a lead vocalist. He’s a great guitarist, but nothing on his new album is memorable.
Don always seems like a genuinely good guy - glad he's found happiness after all the crazy years!
that "heavy metal" song is pretty damn epic.
@@bluestate69, it is and what is also interesting about that song is that the lineup for that song was 3/5 of The Eagles.

great interview. Don seems like a swell, down to earth , friendly guy. Great talker! I would go see him in concert, Read his book!
Absolute killer album. Listened to all the album all the way through Also nice headphone mix. Bravo

HENLEY AND FREY SETTLED 50 MILLION , DON DESERVES EVERY DIME
Legendary guitar player!!!
Don is by far the most grounded member of the Eagles. He's also incredibly good looking for his age.
Wow what a great story ,sounds like lots of fun!!!!!!!!
Don taught a teenage Tom Petty to play guitar. They're both from Gainesville.
Nice guy eagles screwed him good thing he wrote hotel California so they will owe him forever
Definitely the Izzy Stradlin&Brian Jones of the Eagles in more than one way=Huge Talent:)
