Last month I was diagnosed with bowel cancer which has spread to my liver. The tumour was surgically removed from my intestines leaving me with an ileostomy and next month I start chemotherapy in the hope that it will shrink the liver tumours to a controllable size, meaning they don’t claim to be able to cure me but it might extend my life a bit. They say stage 4 cancer means I have 11% chance of living for 5 years. I’m 45yo and a father so have many reasons to fight for. Be well Jonsey 🖖🏻❤️
My dad is the biggest fan of jonesy ever, he is not doing very well in the last couple of months though.. He always says; íf jonesy's stickin' around i'm not leaving either. Much love for both of the dudes, they taught me the ways of rock & roll
Thanks for the update Steve. You have been missed but of course the most important thing is your health and happiness. Your doctor seems like a good guy.
God bless you Jonesy! I was running on half an artery for a lot of my adult life. Luckily it was diagnosed, a generic condition I later found out. All sorted now, a major op was involved but eight weeks later I was gigging again! Keep rocking!
It hits you hard like nothing else when you are told it’s your heart. 16 yrs ago I was told I’d got cardiomyopathy - dilated was admitted to hospital and have been on medication since. I was 35 at the time.My heart at the time was working at 15% but now it’s working better but not 100%. Steve if you see this God bless you and look after your self love from Maxine from Birmingham England❤️
@nasser wiz Really, the only two that look and seem really healthy are Glen and Paul and they are living in their homeland of England. Maybe John and Steve should have stayed in England. Maybe too much of everything here in the US leads to poor health for them.
James Gretsch John Lydon was very sick as a child. He’s been in less than perfect health his whole life and, sad to say for all of us, the march of time makes things worse. But many of us could lose weight and be more physically active.
written12 Very true. He had meningitis as a kid and he said it took a long time to recover. I suppose he still suffers from it in some ways. He seems like a pretty good guy too. I mean from what I’ve seen of him. I of course never knew him in person.
Take it easy Jonesy, we've missed you. This hits home, just about a year ago one of my best friends died at work from a heart attack, he didn't heed the warning signs he had a couple of weeks before. Didn't want to make a fuss or be off work, too late now. Think about him every day. Glad you got yourself fixed up, love the stories and the tunes on Jones's jukebox
Happy that you are back and doing better Jonesy! Plaque buildup in the arteries happens to many of us younger and older. It s a good thing you didn't ignore the symptoms!
Very brave of Jonesy to explain what he'd been through. I hope you make a very fast and easy recovery. Hats off to doctors and nurses everywhere who do such good jobs and work very long hours
@@CB-xr1eg So WHO IS the most underrated guitarist then, Clive Binman? - He isn't my "favourite guitarist", you tosser. The "fact" is that he is underrated. FACT.

Steve I’m so glad you are back and feeling better. You are an inspiration on many levels and a great human being. Please take care of yourself, you are too good to lose( the world still needs you)
Jonesy, keep getting better pal, good you had the sense to get to the hospital. My mate had the same operation last year in our hometown Sheffield, England & is now fitter than he has been for years. All the best.
I'm so glad to hear you acted quick and was saw to early on. All that speed, a long time ago, must have made an impact. I guess it all catches up with one, eventually. Cheers that Steve was literally saved. I couldn't bear another Hero leaving this world.

@@lptomtom Definitely. I'm always amazed when I see people that big actually walking. They all look like heart attacks about to happen. I really hope Jonesy gets that weight off him.
Jeez, this is exactly what happened to me 5 years ago. 3 valves. 2 of them totally blocked, the 3rd 90% blocked. The 3rd valve they couldn't fix but they put 2 stents in the 100% blocked ones. Not fun. The 2nd stent was an excruciating process. They did the first one right away but I had to spend a week in hospital waiting for the 2nd one. I'm lucky to be alive. Drove myself to the hospital just like Steve. Never affected my face though but everything else, I've been there. Glad you caught it in time. I thought KLOS was phasing you out with this one day thing and since you're the only good thing left on so called classic rock radio I was sad to see you go out like that. You're one of the greats, Steve. The Pistols and The Professionals were keepers. You're a keeper. Keep on keeping on. Okay, I'm out of silly cliches now.
You got lucky! i had a full massive heart attack last April (2019), the attack actually began at 7am in the morning while i was at work, yet i worked a full 11 hour shift with heavy machinery not realizing what had happened. I was very lucky to survive the day, but an hour after i got home the big one hit, luckily i had family there to call 911, the ambulance arrived within 3 minutes, i passed out and was without vital signs for close to 2 minutes in the ambulance while they raced me to the hospital. They had to give me an adrenaline shot (ala pulp fiction) to restart my heart. I ended up having a triple bypass 2 weeks later. Spent 2 weeks in hosptial and then another 6 weeks off work recovering. It's been 11 months and i'm doing fine now, but that was a big wakeup call. I had the exact same symptons that Jonesy talks about in this interview, the sharp pains in the chest etc.. had i had an electrocardiogram done earlier they would have seen the blockage and operated before i had the attack, i was lucky to survive.
