Saturday, January 15th, 2021. Bryan Dees and I searched beach swim areas in Lake Washington using underwater metal detectors. Bryan found a cool sing and a message in a bottle from a 5 year old named Beau. Help us find Beau to let him know we found his message where he introduced himself and asked what we were doing for Christmas.
For a mask like I have with a mount for a GoPro camera, check out the Octomask

This was my first time using the PI-iKing metal detector and the Octomask with GoPro Hero 10 to record. I was impressed with the metal detector and thought I was able to locate every piece of metal; unfortunately, most were trash.
We found goggles, sunglasses, fishing gear, some junk jewelry, and a bunch of trash, which we removed from the lake and disposed of.

What is water temperature was when you recording this video? What wetsuit you use?
The water in Lake Washington that day was 45° F. I wear a drysuit with insulated undergarments here. In the last 30 days, the water temp has been between 40°-50°. People dive in wetsuits here in the warmer months, but usually double 7mm.
@@AddAdventures that is so cold. I doo not know what diving suit to get for me to detecting underwater on 14-19 celsius in spring month in Mediteran. I recomen you to get Nokta Pulsedive with bigger coil it is better detector than that you use
I wear 5mm neoprene gloves, and in the water, they keep me comfortable. If the air temperature is warm, you could be comfortable in a 5mm, but one of the coldest parts about a wetsuit is when you get out of the water on a cold day. My fingers go numb on really cold days, so we have a cooler full of warm water to dip into after we get out.
I have a metal detector for land, too. I'd like to upgrade both now that I've gotten into it more. I'll check out your recommendation. Thank you
@@AddAdventures I do not know what land detector you have. For difficult ground like wet salt, but not in the water, and on a budget. I suggest a Minelab Vanquish 340. Also consider the Fisher F11 for parks, and woods.
Thank, I'm sure those are good recommendations,. I have a Garrett Ace 300 that I'm really happy with. I find a lot of things at the beach which is my favorite place to metal detect. If I were to upgrade, I'd want something with more discrimination accuracy so I wouldn't have to waste time digging up bottle caps and trash, although I enjoy cleaning those thing up off the beach, so I guess I'm pretty happy with it.
