Good to see some real, tangible innovation in the aero engine space - one of the few examples of progress that doesn't seem to be vapourware. Looking forward to seeing where this goes
Rotax has a super reliable and comprehensive line up from 65hp to 150hp with surprisingly good support in the US. I think this is targeted more towards the IO360-390 series of engines. I do hope they can get 350hp versions of this technology !!! The future of bright
@@jupabalo98 the current lineup covers 360, 390, and some 470/540 applications with 180, 200, and 235 hp models available. They have a 300-350hp 6-cylinder version in development of the same block design they hope to unveil at the 2025 airshows per the staff at the show. If you look at the poll at their website the number 1 engine requested is for a 300hp Piper PA32 replacement. Continental just announced their Diesel / Jet A CD300 is now available for Cessna 206 retrofit packages but it is a much more complicated engine.
I'm anxious for actual info to released. Why a V4? Why inverted? It's a 2 stroke diesel with a turbo..... but why does there also appear to be a rotary lobe blower underneath? How is this engine going to be better than the traditional horizontally opposed 4 strokes? There are way less parts with a 2 stroke and no need for ignition with diesel.... but they burn dirty and loud. Come on, spill some actual info for us.
still better than burning lead+spraying 100LL and yes as a 1960's car/440/hemi owning this isn't comfortable saying but automobile use ended 30+ years ago and in the usa aviation activity's is long over due diesels can help ending this
First of all - it will run exclusively on Jet-A for most applications. Why inverted? It is direct drive and inverted gives you clearance for the prop in planes designed for flat/boxer engines.

This is incredible, so glad this project is moving forward. Godspeed!
‘Loving the weight reduction effort.
Seems to me that is you combined an electric motor on the engine shaft that would assist compression stroke and produce more power and increase rpm
Test a DHK235 on Ravin 500 .
Would love to know the specs, specially the ferry range .
3000Nm a dream come true. 🙌
Is it a two stroke?
You sure about that, Clark? th-cam.com/video/5rPdv4QROYQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OOK8sU8-m2kkxgN5 @yankeeromeoalpha
@yankeeromeoalpha Can you elaborate please on what is based your affirmation?
It's 2 stroke forced induction diesel
@yankeeromeoalpha From the makers website : PISTON PORTED 2-STROKE PRESSURE SCAVENGED with direct injection.
thank you philip heyes ! @philipheyes607
TBO? When are you going to let a third party verify the efficiency of the engine?
i want it in my truck
How much horsepower does your engine generate?
The DHK180 produces 180hp, and the newly announced DHK200 will produce 200hp
What about other homebuilts that require less horsepower?

4 cylinders, 2 stroke pressure scavenged engine. Firing order 1-2-3-4. Direct Injection 4 independent pump lines.
Are you actually going to start selling engines soon Delta?
Ill never need this because I have a 1999 Rav4 that does 0 > to 60 in under 30 mins.
WTF ?
