Nice to see it coming together. I've got bike parts stored in IKEA trofasts too, wouldn't recommend, the draws buckle and come out of the slides if you put much weight in them and there is a lot of wasted space at the sides. You could run the ring light off a battery bank to avoid running another cable.
@@Ali_Clarkson we got them for Lego but were a bit shocked by how little they held, works out to 54 litres of useful storage in a 120 litres of space. Repurposed for bike bits and it's nice to take a draw out and put it on the bench while you hunt for a particular small part, but not good if you are short on space.
Garage is looking slick Ali! Camera rig looks sick! An idea for a video series for you bud, a trials training series for Frazier, kinda like master and padowan with some progression sessions maybe? Keep up the good work still loving the vlogs!
It is turning out fantastic Ali. Fraser seems to be a great friend and very talented young man. You are lucky to have him in your camp. I really like how you are laying it all out. The overhead camera trolley is brilliant, huge props to Alex, but I think it would be even cooler if you added servos to make the camera trolley mobile electronically. You could have moving shots that would be over the top cool. Over all I think the shop is turning out very well. The addition of shadow foam is wonderful and very clean. Great job and I am excited to see your new builds. Cheers - M
Ali you´ve transformed this garage into something adorable :) Especially considering howsmall the space is. I really like how how you organized it and although it isn´t thet new anymore, your curtain really looks amazing. That´s such a need solution for the bike storage space. Seriuously, keep up the good work...love watchng you setting up your garage
I got loads of those little shelves for my shipping container workshop and hit the same problem. I bought a load of small magnets cheap from Amazon and stuck them to the back of the shelves. Bit of an annoying faff but got them working. 🤦♂️ Still got the container but it’s fully insulated and ply lined these days and currently installing the electrics. Splashed on some beautiful KEF speakers yesterday which are arriving today! 😎
I'm really excited for the potential of these tools and the garage in general. I love how happy you are with them and I really hope they'll make your life a lot more enjoyable.
love a garage tour/build! satisfying knowing you have everything set out ready to use? i did this with a 26inch snap on tool chest, now i have bought house with garage, this is my next thing to do ;)
Looks like a lovely place to play! 👌 Glad the gantry is working for you, i was worried it was going to be a bit sketchy, being done on the thrift😅 My pleasure Thalistair 👍
Ah yes I hadn’t thought of the sound deadening, that would be handy. As for the trays, I’ve defended they’re perfect for zip ties so they don’t need to hold much weight 👍🏻
Nice setup. But what happens when you have a drawer done, with the space between each tool exactly the same, and then you later realize you need just one more tool? Silicone place mats are great for that. You just cut to fit the drawer, or not bother, and toss in as much as will fit. You missed one critical feature, a drain in the floor so you can hose it down properly after surgery.
Yes that’s a compromise with this foam, once it’s cut for one layout it’s a lot of work if you want to change it! I have a few spare sheets so if it comes to it I could spend an hour to re-cut one too a new layout. As for a drain…that’s what the outside is for 😂
Wow this garage looked better and better every video and I hope you don’t have. to use that headset. press too often old faithful is a part. of the channel and a big shout out to Alex who built the camera. rig what a drive that must’ve been plus with all this rain that’s going to be coming Wonder where the jetty is going to be for Ally’s boat 😂😂
you need to do a video on how you use that tool to remove crown race. I've removed a few cups with one😊. Little brain fart I presume? Also fantastic workshop. I'm just jealous so picking out silly mistakes.😂
Yes and no (I did consider it) but it wouldn’t work with tools with rubber/plastic handles and last time I tried to melt something to fit a shape it left a gooey mess 😖
@@Ali_Clarkson thanks for the quick reply. I am looking at new kit for my workshop & there kit seems the best value for money that is real good quality
@@jbsworkshop yeah that’s what attracted me too plus the customisation (that was one of the reasons for my delay, I wanted a particular colour combo they didn’t have in stock). One thing to keep in to consideration is that they’re a really young company and very small (it was the owner and his sister (I think) who actually came and delivered/installed mine). I assumed it was a bigger company and I imagine most other people do too, so I think a little bit more patience might be required as they might be pretty busy until they employ more people
Yes agreed! Been struggling with the audio with this new mic setup (only finding out it’s echoing in the editing once all filming was done!). Trying out a new one for the next update 👍🏻
Why do you Brits insist on having stupid crap like left-hand drive or a separate power outlet plug format? Okay, the Yanks do that too, but they're far away so it's less annoying and their plug is actually way smaller and more convenient, so I guess it makes some sense.
Saw you in Dannys video "Do a wheelie" on Banff Mountain Film Festival, awesome stunt on a unwheeliable-looking bike!
Thank you, that was a challenge!
Unreal how far you garage has come! I remember watching some of your videos from last year and it is unreal!
Finely a proper headset press. thank you 🥰
You’re welcome 😊
A tire tread cutter ! What, I want one. Never knew it existed, thx.
Now you know 😂
Maybe go for a battery pack on top of your gantry platform. Less cables. Imuto 27,000mAh would work very well.
It’s wired up now and it’s not bad with the cables actually 👍🏻
Wild, my bike tools are just jammed in a couple tool boxes. Nicely done!!
Mine always used to be too and I’d never be able to find the tool I needed haha
Looking awsome Ali keeps it the great work.
Thank you! Cheers!
Couple of pins in ya back wall to stop the magnetic shelf sliding down😉
So simple yet so genius!
😁 keep up the good work lad

Nice, this sounds super exciting, looking forward to seeing more then!

Aww Fraser will be chuffed to hear that 😊
Servos would be very cool, but perhaps a bit slow and tedious for when I want to quickly change angle
I can see myself getting happy seeing you fulfilling your dreams :) And always nice to see you both!
Yes! Thank you!
I'm jealous of the foam inserts, a mechanic's dream!
It’s slightly tedious but looks so cool when done!

The container sounds sweet! And that’s for the tip on the extra magnets, I’ll give it a try :)
That garage build is coming along nicely, that camera rig is genius.

Yeah his stuff is so well made!
That setup looks great. From the beginning shell to now.
The doors look super secure. I really enjoyed the video
theraputic and relaxing :)

Excellent! That camera rig is going to be a huge plus for the channel, and the whole workshop is going to be fantastic!
Hope so!
Awesome workshop, congrats!
Thank you! Cheers!
Congratulations Ali your shop is really nice, great creative vision on the plan.
Thank you very much!
Mats will add a bit of sound deadening, extra magnets are always useful and pretty cheap so you can easily upgrade the shelves
Ah yes I hadn’t thought of the sound deadening, that would be handy. As for the trays, I’ve defended they’re perfect for zip ties so they don’t need to hold much weight 👍🏻
Get some old hard drives. Only takes a half dozen magnets to hold an elephant.

Love a good toolbox! Did mine with ShadowFoam aswell, such a neat stuff!
Well done, Boss!💪
Great minds think alike 😊
YESSS, FINALLY 🙏
If you needed a pair of Hands, you should've gotten Fraser's dad too.
Haha 😂
Looking pretty dam posh and very technical setup. Love it. Just need some entertainment in there, cheap tablet on a mag stand to the peg board.
Yes good thinking!

Shadow foam is brilliant but just takes soooo long to cut out neatly 😂
You’re telling me 😂
The camera rig looks like it’s from the set of Flight Of The Navigator. You should name it Max 😅
You know what…I will!!
Save you an hour or two heat up the tools with hot air gun and melt the foam .

Was the company you got the modular tool storage from good to deal with? I have seen allot of bad trustpilot reviews that put me off, thanks
Can’t say I had any bad experiences, things were delayed a little but I had decent communication and installation was quick once they were here

I am sad to see it go 😔

The British plug is superior to all others. It's a template for good design. Look it up.
