Exactly, he is an instrument. Don't sleep on Dimash. In my opinion, he is among the very elite few singers that I would consider the best singers ever. His range is extraordinary and I love that you are only in the beginning phase of your Dimash journey. There is PLENTY more to be seen of him. Cover-wise, you could check out Opera #2, The Show Must Go On, Hello, to name a few. I also recommend Screaming, Unforgettable Day, and Passione.
"SOS d'un terrien en détresse" is a song from a canadian-french rock opera: Starmania, played the first time in Paris in april 1979. Lyrics by Luc Plamondon, music by Michel Berger. "SOS d'un terrien en détresse" was written for the french singer Daniel Balavoine who had a special voice with a very wide range. In 1992, an english version of the songs was also written by Tim Rice and the songs were sung by Kim Carnes, Céline Dion, Matt & Luke Goss, Nina Hagen, Tom Jones, Peter Kingsberry, Cindy Lauper, Kevin Robinson, Ronnie Spector, Willy De Ville. The album was called "Tycoon".
The English version of the song, "Only the very best", was performed by Peter Kingsberry (from the group "Cock Robin"), who also had a particular voice. But I also like Dimash interpretation.

My friend, you just listened to the best voice in the world at this moment in time - and this is not my opinion but a fact. This young man from Kazakhstan (he is turning 26 on May 24, 2020) is currently electrifying the internet with his vocal range of 6 octaves, and he has millions of fans (he calls his fans "his Dears") from every continent. He is classically trained (in opera, but he considers his own style "neo-classical" - he can and does handle any and every genre). He is a multi instrumentalist, and he sings in 12 different languages, and has already won a multitude of awards. His native tongues are Kazakh and Russian, and he is learning English and Mandarin Chinese. Above all though, Dimash is an amazing, very humble human being whose self-proclaimed mission in this world is to spread love, peace and unity, and he is very charitable. Please check out some of his other songs - you'll not be disappointed, I promise. His latest sensation is "Across Endless Dimensions" - which is the sound track to the movie "Creators: The Past". The video is amazing too.

Dimash is from Kazakhstan. He is a national treasure. He sings the song called SOS D’Un Terrien en Détresse (SOS of a inhabitant of the Earth in distress), from the big musical Starmania, made by artists from Quebec (Canada) and France. It’s the story of a young man dreaming about a possible other place… and other planet to go to. The song is in French and Dimash, who does not speak French, was singing phonetically. Lot of words are not well pronounced… but who cares ? 😂 When he went in France for the first time, they helped him with his pronunciation.

Dimash has done many covers, most in other languages - but he has sung Lionel Ritchie's "Hello" and Celine's "My Heart Will Go On."
