YG being The Rapper himself knows the RUKA is a pure Rapper that is capable of singing like she did in Don’t Know What To Do! All RUKA needed to hear was a little acknowledgment from whoever and she was COOL! And YG making Ahyeon change her is no different than Choice 37 changing Pharita’s part on gone! He knew she could do better! Nothing more than tough love! And you’ll see the outcome next! All this pails in comparison what BlackPink went through as trainees! They were told they were not good enough to their faces! This is a kinder and gentler YG and evaluator’s!🧸🙏🏻

24:18 well, bcs YG said that the arrangement of her chosen song had so much going on that it drained her energy in the latter part (which i think, it may probably affect her overall performance and is not the best song for her)
Yes she might not be the lowest in rank for as to what YG said- everything is good but the arrangement wasn't, so during the blind test YG said Ahyeon got the voice, emotions, etc. but the song choice doesn't fit the overall ambience of her performance, hence telling her to change it for a better outcome.
This I must say- YG telling Ahyeon to change the song is ofc unexpected and gives a lot of pressure, however, I think he made the right decision bcs my girl devoured her final stage and even non-fans were captivated by what she performed, it left a great impact. Everyone was fangirling over her!

Agreed. And one thing reminds me while our reactor start to asked question about how unfair for AH's song choice. We are not music expert and never close to YG judgement standard. We, as an audience, can learn how things happened during evaluation periods, and these girls endured it monthly for around 4-5 years (average) of training. Don't wory, YG allow only the best product to release.
And all that Rami does..does it so natural & which sich ease...that's unique.
I think he told Ahyeon to change the song because he wanted to nudge her in the direction of a vocalist instead of a rapper.

Even if it does say “vocal” solo mission..I think Yang Hyunsuk wanted to see how the girls will present themselves and their strengths.
So even though Ruka technically didn’t “sing”.. though she did kind of sing that chorus of “Astronaut In The Ocean”. Her rapping, dancing, and stage presence is her strength. Also, she is using her “VOICE” TO RAP..she is using her vocals..just not singing. Also, when she does sing like in “Don’t Know What To Do” performance, it shows that SHE CAN SING..she has a really nice bright, but also quite husky tone when she sings. She hasn’t shown much of it compared to the other members, but she can sing.
As for Ahyeon, I think Yang Hyunsuk sees her as more of a vocalist than a rapper. He wants her to show more of her vocal range, that’s why he asked her to change her song to focus more on her incredible vocals. He knows she’s a good rapper, but he doesn’t want her to do too much in her last solo mission.
Anyways, that’s just my observations and yes it may seem hypocritical…but I guess it’s just what Yang Hyunsuk perspective..what potential and strengths the girls have individually. So in a way I get it, each girl is unique and talented in their own way.
Great reaction! I get what you are saying about the end comments after Ruka, unfortunately we only get 30 second to 1 minute snippet of comments after each performance, when the actual round robin of comments is more than 5 minutes. It would be nice to hear it all, but we will probably never get the totality of what was shared/critiqued. At first I was also wondering about the comment to Ahyeon to change the song when she was 4 out of 7. If it was just at the beginning of their evaluations that would be fine, but the reason why 4 is bad, is that Ahyeons par grade in all the evaluations has always been 1 or 2. For her, 4 is a big step down. You can judge how good or bad the changed song goes in the next episode. Harami definitely has my vote for Most Improved Player, going from that not so coordinated shy girl in glasses at her tryouts to Pick Up Your Feelings... WOW!
Great reaction..... I get what you are saying about Ahyeon. My take . Since she was getting good/great reviews all throughout her training days, PapaYG wanted to "test" her grit... He wanted her as the leader. Telling her a bad song choice, gave her the option to do it better ...or switch her song, but with only a couple weeks to prepare. As for the rest, I think he gave them individual feedback but not all is shown here. They all saw their "standing" privately. So she knows she was "ranked #1" going into this section, but might not hold that position if she decides to continue to use the song she initially chose.
I was shocked when Haram was not in the top two for Song choice, anyway. She Killed It!!!

I think Anyeon’s first song had too much going on like YG said. The other girls song selections were much better, hence why YG never ask the others to change their song. Her second song was so much better vocally and it is the most viewed compared to the others. YG knew her potential and the first song just didn’t cut it for him. As stressful as it was for her, she didn’t crumble and excelled! Hope she joins the team soon. I love her part in the next episode.
Ruka always hits hard. When she comes in I am blown away.
Throughout my favourite is Ruka but since Batter Up, Rora keeps coming into my thoughts. Rora is growing up and she is stunning, visually gorgeous, dance genius, power and control in her vocals.
MY whole problem with this series (and I DO like Ahyeon) is that during the whole series they kept making out that she is only one that can sing and rap (till Asa did her final Eval). If you watched the Intro then you would of noticed Asa sang in her self made song Diary. Pharita rapped in her intro and so did Haram in her own as well. They pushed Ahyeon way too uch and Chiquita way to much (Again this isnt their fault its the producers) . They did it again on the Next episode. Members clearly said Haram helped and advised them yet most of the episode is about Ahyeon and Chiquita and implied that Ahyeon is only one leading. Asa and Ruka got lowest i think it was? and didnt get told to change songs. Rant aside.. Hope Ahyeon comes back safe and healthy!!! OT7!!!

Keeping with the scoring I gave from the previous episode 1 will score singers separately from rappers. Chiquita just got over Covid and was concerned about hitting the higher note. She did, flawlessly. Still, in my opinion she has a beautiful tone to her voice. 9.25/10. Ruka has such swag and rizz. 10/10. Rami didn't leave any tools in her bag for this one. I have never heard a 15 year old sing with so much swag and vocal acrobatics like rami just did here. And the to take us way up in her range and then take us back down as if to say, "that's right, I just did that". In my opinion, she is the best signer in the group. 10/10. Ahyeon killed her performance! She is so good. 10/10
Historically, when you look at the rankings that are given by YG, Ruka and ASA are almost always in the bottom 2 because he ranks the singers separately from the rappers. That means Ahyeon was actually 4th out of 5 in song choice. I don't recall who #5 was but it is obvious that YG was challenging Ahyeon because he has high expetation from her. In YG's opinion, Ahyeon is the only one that picked a song that wasn't suitable so she was asked to choose another song.
That ranking wasn't for SONG CHOICE. Its for how they sounded (audio) when they sung their songs. Ahyeon may have sung her song better than Haram, Asa and Ruka that time BUT obviously YG thought she could do better with a better song. btw bro that music in your intro is that your song?

As for ahyeon..the producer said it has too much going on from the start then it kinda lost that same energy towards the end?.. Ahyeon can actually rap like she is good at it...but i guess she adds too many things that its kinda overperforming already.. like for me if i have a fave ballad song then people would cover it changing its flow,adding unnecessary adlibs that completely ruin the message and emotions of the song itself then i will not like it anymore..this is their final evaluation so its important that all of them will have their best performance...

Ahyeon has chosen a song with RAP integrated..& YG him self decided..that song was not a good choice to reveal her potential vocals...more than to encourage her rap.But everything about her it's strange..& in his ,in all members of the jury's eyes she is the most talented. So yea..it's crazy...& sad 😢fkin 😢
It's hard to explain actually but I understand why they changed her song and it make sense. It's for the show but they know ahyeon can do better for you it doesn't make sense but it's actually really make so much sense. It's just hard to explain I'm comment. 🤣

There is too much going on with that song she's trying to show everything but she only needs to choose the right song and give her all in one category singing or rapping. She need a song that can highlights her ability and suits her voice. So, YG know she can do better with different song. Other girls choose the right song choice and gave amazing performance.

YG selected 7 students out of thousands or tens of thousands of students to be on par with their seniors. My personal opinion is that this group of kids are better than their seniors. Each person is very unique.
They have the potential to be better for sure. None of BM are better than their seniors in their main positions, YET. Not even close. Give them a few years then yes.
Why did YG change the song? Because from other survival shows, if the song isn't good and doesn't suit that person or team, YG will immediately criticize and change it. For YGSTAN, it's not strange, it's very normal if YG considers it inappropriate. Let ahyeon change the song

You're right about Ruka's tho. When im watching this episode for the first time i was like what that's it for Ruka performance? I mean all of em judges took their time to compliment the others but Ruka was just "you're so cool" and i was upset about it and felt sorry for Ruka, its almost like they are turning one eye on her performance and she was giving the best stage presence. Ruka is not even my bias but i want all the respect she can get.

If you don't know they actually eliminate Asa at last😢 and then he said, by the people choice he returned her in the group.. They actually don't support this rappers at all accept for Jenlisa.... It' really disappointed..
Yeah. I did think the same. The others already were selected. Although she was the very best singer but she was also the most vulnerable in the selection. I felt the Final evaluations was always to decide if the group was going to be 6 or 7. Unfortunately, Ahyeon hurt her vocals in this High risk strategy. YG wanted 2 High impact vocalists. Rami always gad a spot. Ahyeon was not a high range vocalist. She was forced into that category every much in the final evaluations.
I have the same question when I watched this cause if Ahyeon made the worst song choice but they still put her on 4th while Ruka and Asa chose the perfect song for them but they ranked them last then why call it 'song choice evaluation'? Maybe he just doesn't like rap songs that much but it's still confusing if that was the reason cause they would've told them to change songs too if that was the case. Idk but Ahyeon should've been last in that song choice evaluation since she had to change songs in the end.
I also agree about Ruka's part that they should've said something else other than her being 'cool'. I was waiting for them to say something about her diction or maybe about the dance or stage presence cause out of all the trainees, she's the only one who did a whole performance rapping and dancing but idk maybe they didn't show some of the judges comments or cut that part for some reason.
Haram/Rami hands down the best performance out of all of them. Her vocals was just superb and no other trainee can sing that song except for her. She was very underrated but she's the best singer out of them all.
