I live 1 hour from Hershey PA. My dad took us there all the time. It was so much fun, but now, the taste has changed. It's not as creamy as Cadbury. Loving the New Series!!
Shame these companies have to change their recipes! Ahh love that, lovely memories and am I right in thinking it smelt amazing too? So glad you're enjoying the new series 🥰
Love the Snack Showdown series. Especially since this is the first time I have seen an actual apples to apples comparison than others have done. And it’s the first time I’ve heard someone feel the same as me about ice water and chocolate together!
Hi Kate and Alex! Kate - I ALWAYS sneeze while eating a peppermint or peppermint flavored gum! I thought it was just me! Glad to hear I’m not alone! ❤️
My understanding, and im 99% sure on this, is that USA Cadbury get the "crumb" mixture - the dried cacao solids before milk solids and butter are added - from Cadburys factory in Ireland. Hershey's then add American milk powder and a different coa coa butter in at their end and that's what creates the difference.
I would be interested in the ingredients of the plain chocolate. It could explain the difference. If it melts better in your mouth, there could be more cacao butter or something else with higher quality? Or more sugar in the crumbly one?
in Canada where I live the mini eggs are in purple but the colouring is bright like yours. The creme egg is the same colouring as your packaging but we don't have them in foil anymore. They are in a plastic casing. Ever since Covid they switched I think.
I found a place near where I live that sells British Cadbury. I won't say where it is, because I don't want them to get in trouble for it. The UPC on the package says the country of origin is Switzerland (the first three digits are a country code). I guess Cadbury has a factory in that country. Let me guess: American creme eggs are washed and in the refrigerated section, while British creme eggs are unwashed and unrefrigerated. Right? (And, no, I'm not being serious.)
I’ve tried both as well and aren’t really a fan of either, when it comes to the original dairy milk bar. The Mini Eggs though…. I buy so many bags and make them last alll year. They are my absolute favorite thing!
The difference in the US chocolate to the UK is that the US uses i think it's called butric acid (excuse the spelling) : the US puts it in a lot of chocolate products, especially Hersheys products. Said to extend shelf life but the side effect is the horrible taste. I tried hersheys and it wasn't nice. It made me feel sick. Took me a week to finish the small hersheys bar. I would recommend watching the video on the differences of how food is made / preserved between the US vs UK. Also how US chocolate is made. Love from west midlands , UK. xx
Iv had cream eggs before American company brought them & I had them after as well. In the UK unfortunately tase did change, before American company took could eat a whole box usually 4 or 6. After the American brought it I could have two without feeling sickly in back of my throat.
I am from Utah, USA and work for a company that has a "candy cart" on paydays. We can pick what candy, chocolate, chewing gum, etc. we want and I won't grab a chocolate bar anymore. We have a local store with European food (#europeanfoodclub) and I cannot stand 99% of our chocolate now. If someone makes it from scratch at home, it's 10x better because most of them buy better (higher cacao solids) chocolate to make their treats.
No way!! I've never heard of anywhere having a candy cart on pay day! That's so cool. Yeah once you've tasted the good stuff it's very hard to go back and not notice the difference!
I think you guys only touched on a couple of the Cadbury products. Could you two do this again with some more of the Cadbury chocolates, like with Carmelo for example.
Cadbury dairy milk taste changed in Australia sometime in the last 5 to 10 years. We had a family block at home and we wondered if it had gone off. You could really tell it was different, in a bad way. We rarely buy it now.
I've always been curious about the difference between US, UK, and Canada where i'm from because most people from UK say they can't stand the taste of American chocolate but I feel Canadian chocolate would be more akin to the UK's chocolate....at least where im from(Newfoundland) anyway.
especially because the things people complain about with American I just do NOT taste it here. A lot of people say it tastes like vomit and with a quick googling apparently that is due to US adding butyric acid...interesting.
@@GuessImNotClever What I think is interesting is the number of people from the UK who love ranch dressing. I’m American and can’t stand ranch because to me it tastes like vomit. And to me Cadbury chocolate has a very weird taste. Bought it once and didn’t even finish the bar. I can’t stand the crème eggs either.
UK is superior. The Hershey Company changed the recipe so it is sugar before the milk. So glad my other half is from England, he keeps me stocked up on the REAL goods!!!!!!!!
Do not like Hershey's chocolate. There's really no good chocolate in the US unless you buy from a candy store that makes their own. We like Wittich's and Goumas chocolates.
‘I wouldn’t go as far as sickly, but there was definitely an aftertaste’ - every time he says that (and he does a lot), I’m insulted. A BIG thumbs down - we all get that you don’t like Hershey’s original chocolate. Tens of millions of Americans do, however.
You should compare UK and Canadian Cadbury’s. I feel like they would be much harder to tell apart! Love this new series ❤️
That's such a good idea!! Yes I think so too ♥️ So glad you're enjoying our new series

oooo yes!! Good thinking. We will have to check the ingredients!!

You've got a bit of a combo of the both then 🥰 Oh yes!! I think i've seen these plastic casings before! Funny how you don't have them in foil.

No chocolate ones stays out of fridge
No way!! How interesting. Yeah they must do.
You need to do this with Canada we have alot of the same snacks 😊
We really should!! That would be awesome
I love your videos and I love your channel and I support you guys and I love your accents🤩
Thank you so much!! Really really appreciate it ♥️🥰
Enjoying the comparison videos guys 🙂
thank you Helen! So pleased to hear this 🥰
Very fun those battles
Loved them.
Thanks Kate and Alex! ❤❤❤💋😘🇧🇷
Thank you Cristina!! ♥️🥰♥️🥰♥️🥰♥️
Ugh I want a Cadbury’s box so bad but we skipped spring here and went straight into summer. 80° (27°) and hella humid already. 😢😢😢
Must be so hot 🥵
I've tried both sides thanks to you guys and I prefer the UK version of Cadbury
yaay so glad you enjoyed our Cadbury's 🥰♥️
I have to agree, the UK rocks the dairy milk!
wahhhoooo ♥️
Love you videos. Thank you for beeing you. You are my inspiration ❤
Thank you so much for all of your support. It means so much ♥️
Must have fun. Eating all different chocolate s🍫🍫❤❤❤
it is definitely fun indeed! ♥️♥️♥️
In Australia, the Creme Egg looks like the UK one
I do feel like we have a lot of similarities to Australia too

Yes that is it!! That is what gives it that really horrible sick taste. I suppose a lot of Americans are just used to it that they don't realise.
xx

such a shame they changed the flavour! Hate when companies do that

Would definitely love to do this with more of the US Cadbury items! Will have to try pick some up next time we are in the US

Such a shame when these companies change the recipes! Especially when they get greedy just to make more profit
Before watching, I'm gonna vote UK. Other folks outside the US don't seem to like American chocolate. Lets see how I do.
I was surprised by how close the cream egg and mini eggs were! It's definitely a lot easier to taste the difference with the plain milk chocolate
UK absolutely will win on chocolate ❤ even I know that as an American 😜
hehe 🥰 We would have to agree

I do think the Canadian chocolate is closer to the UK. We have enjoyed a lot of the Canadian chocolate bars
Yeah we have never tasted that sick flavour in Canadian chocolate before
I so wish we had your ranch in the UK! We love it so much
I prefer British Cadbury to nasty Hershey’s
I prefer Hershey’s Symphony to Cadbury’s Dairy Milk any day of the week.
I think the symphony was one of our favourite Hershey's bars
Us too hehe
🇨🇦Hershey’s good chocolate 🍫 They them in Canada🇨🇦Yummy😋Mini eggs OK not the best😊Creme eggs they🍁 are good in Canada 🇨🇦
What's the popular chocolate brand in Canada?
I haven’t even watched the video yet but I already know UK will win because Canadian Cadbury is better than US Cadbury
UK Cadbury definitely wins but it was so much closer than we though with the cream egg. Probably because the inside is so sweet it's hard to tell 😂
I’m American and UK Cadbury is SOOOO much better.
Yaaay so glad you love our Cadbury's 🥰♥️
I like dove chocolate close to uk❤
We actually have dove coming up soon!! 🥰
I wish they could have tried the U.S. cream egg with caramel
i LOVE the cream egg with caramel! Unfortunately they didn't have any when I was there
No contest, no notes. UK for the chocolate win!
Yaaaay hehe
Hmm how can you mae a blindfold test when the two chocolates have different texture on top? Then you would notice taking the piece in... hmmmmmmmmm
In America we pay more for less. It never was like that before. Inflation is rising here.
it's so crazy isn't it! Everything is getting so expensive
I couldn't agree with you more, Kate. 👍🏻
UK is superior. The Hershey Company changed the recipe so it is sugar before the milk. So glad my other half is from England, he keeps me stocked up on the REAL goods!!!!!!!!
Kate, I'd say the UK candy bars look as good as the USA bars.
*better
They do look pretty the same but there is definitely a taste difference
good video
thank you Erin!
The only American chocolate I like is Reese’s
Good choice! We love Reese's too
Do not like Hershey's chocolate. There's really no good chocolate in the US unless you buy from a candy store that makes their own. We like Wittich's and Goumas chocolates.
Yeah it definitely seems like the only good chocolate is the hand made ones! Not sure we've tried either of them.
👏👍👍👍👌
I wish you would put the taste in each others hand, eyes closed, then feed the taste to yourself. The optics are a bit odd…
We would be able to feel the different chocolate otherwise
We get the uk Cadbury eggs in America
What state do you live in?
To me dairy milk is plain and Hershey's has more flavor
Maybe we should next try the US Cadbury next to the Hersheys
Pity the flavour is vomit!
It should be UK
hehe we agree

American here. Hershey’s is trash. Literally has the same chemical as vomit. Idk how most of us don’t taste it but I sure do!
As an American, Hershey's tastes like plastic.
Hershey’s tastes like a$$!
@@bbmcgee33 Wow, clever boy. Jesus.
@@pacmanc8103 Hershey's is actually garbage
