Yeah, her being his objective keeper and such is an awesome idea. I wonder if something like Tommy Jarvis doing something similar for the campers could be implimented at a later stage.

My only thought is that I wouldn't want to hear from her *that* often. Not after every kill... If you get used to it, her input will be far less creepy, and it takes a little away from Jason's role. I don't want to feel like he's just her puppet, even if she is in his imagination.

One thing that I'm stoked about that you nailed, and I can't believe you guys nailed it so nicely is that I can FEEL that Friday the 13th vibe that I felt with the movies as a kid. The environment, seeing inside the cabins from outside, being IN a cabin. The atmosphere with the 80s music playing, knowing Jason is lurking, and all these are HERE, and it's good. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this in the future!!
I really hope you guys continue to build this game into a beast of a masterpiece long after release, because this looks like it could be fun for a long while if you guys keep adding new features as it grows and becomes more successful.

I'm sure he'll be balanced out. :} People need to stop whining about Jason so much. It'll be fine. The teleport feature just need to be worked out to 'feel like part of the movie' (game). And I think by having the line of site thing added, where Jason can't teleport to places counselors can SEE in front of them, it'll all work out. It would be some hefty programming, but I think it would work great.
Honestly, a few minutes of pre alpha gameplay footage and suddenly everyone is a game mechanics specialist and UAT tester.
I remember watching when this was originally just "Summer camp" now it's finally getting closer.

Well, maybe there'll be some single-player challenges as DLC down the line. They didn't reach the goal I wanted, the Uber Jason skin and map based on the spaceship. I'd buy the skin in an instant if it comes as DLC, but I think any additional maps should be free, that way the player-base doesn't end up divided between those that bought it and those that didn't.

For the beta, yeah you had to support it on kickstarter in the original run to get in on the beta. That's no longer an option in the backer kit (And doubtful they're going to just hand out keys to the beta when it was one of the levels on the kickstarter), but you can pre-order it now and get the game when it comes out, hopefully in October

MAAAAAN i love the idea that Pamela Voorhees is speaking to his head.This game might be better than I predicted. If this is successful I'm hoping we get a Freddy Kruger game, Halloween game, Pinhead game, Leatherface game and Chucky game all setting up a remake of Terrordrome. The horror game universe.

I know this is somewhat off topic but I think we need another Godzilla game. As a big fan of Godzilla I thought the last game on the ps4 was trash. We need another fighter like the three before that. It should have a huge roster of monsters from Godzilla and other lore. However back on track I would like to see a Freddy Krueger horror game. I would be interested to just see how they don't make it to where he is overpowered.

Halloween game would be fucking AWESOME!!!
The game has to go back to its alpha roots. Look at the lighting and graphics; darker, crisper, and no colored filter to damper the realism of the saturation of the outside. Not to mention how much more complex the environment looks (a lot more shrubbery and trees and different tree models). They even implemented falling leaves! The trees are so thick, the moonlight beams are much more prevalent and clean and scary. The map itself looks intimidating. The lack of music makes for a much more eerie atmosphere too and doesn’t give the counselors a clutch to know when Jason’s nearby (until they hear his footsteps). I’d also like to mention Chad’s sweater physics depicted at 1:37 and the apparent sound interaction between nature and counselor when Vanessa exits the Higgins house at 1:53. It’s the little things.
Well, at least there's one thing you can do! You can turn music down all the way in the current game heh. Then all you're hearing are footsteps :3

It's not because alpha was better. I actually learned from someone who works for a small game studio, that devs often showcase a different game essentially. Graphics and features that never make it into the game, scripted events, smarter AI, and a more polished game overall compared to the final product. So in most cases you should expect a downgraded version of the game that they show you.

I really like the idea that Jason can teleport like that. Giving him the omnipresence he has in the films, but he should only be able to do that where he won't be seen, because thats the way it works in the movies. Otherwise it just doesnt feel right.

It really did. An issue for me was how janky the controls are (even in the final product). Everything was too slow and clunky which made it hard to do certain actions. It makes Jason and the survivors feel too robotic

Any time a game shows alpha footage you could classify it as “false advertising”. Alpha footage is never realistic to the actual alpha because alphas in games are hardly functional, compared to this where is could be classified as a relatively barebones but playable game. Revealed alphas are never showing you the game in process, they’re showing you a product made that is made either to show you what the game is going to be, or to incite hype. Or both under circumstances. It’s kinda like a free demo version of a game.

I must admit, I find myself favoring this version. Oh, the Part 6 was GOOD look...but as the films went on, more and more of his mask got chipped or cut away and his head took over the space. The look of horror that's famous IS his mask. Anyone in a horror film can be deformed or whatnot. The jumpsuit or whatever, not bad, but this and the FULL mask is a win. Hell, even if he wore the baggy and worn out clothes from the 2009 reboot film and he have more hair again, I'd be happy with.

Did you notice how the whole house is red. It makes it difficult to see the campers.
I think if a consular is in a building, then Jason wouldn't be able to exactly pinpoint them as the whole building seems to light up.

They chose Jason's skin from part 3 and used Higgins Haven. Homage to Friday the 13th Part 3 eh? I love how they're even replicating the cabins from the first one. I can't wait for this!!!
They're even gonna have some of the kills be homages as well. They're also doing new ones since Tom Savini himself is involved with this. Thinking about that is making me way too excited now.
Same here man, Savini having input on how Jason acts and how kills should go and the costumes makes it all the more better. Kane Hodder providing the capture for his movements and walking. So good man. Dream come true after only have the NES game to go on as a fan for this franchise.

As far back as I could remember I always loved watching them and always hoped as I got older and got more into games we would get a true Friday the 13th game. I appreciate the cheesiness of the NES one but I knew somehow someone HAD to do it justice.

Will I wouldn't say the BEST game in 2017, but this game was hella fun. I made alot of friends playing this game. And I still play it to this day, the game is way to fun, especially when you get better as survivor. With the glitches, this had the potential to be a dbd killer.

Please change that weak scream that the characters have when they see Jason, they also sound annoying when he is holding them, like a whiny little kid. I got no sense of their actual fear. They don't sound afraid, they sound like they are crying. We want the trademark blood curdling screams.
While the screaming would make it more like the movies, whimpering in terror is more realistic.

Everything feels really stiff and too quick nowadays. Perhaps the unreal engine couldn’t handle everything here

Yeah I kind of decided that since I helped with the kickstarter I would stick to this game rather than Dead by Daylight.
After seeing footage of both games however I am wondering whether it was the right choice.

HEY GUYS, ABOUT THE TELEPORTING, it looks like when he's teleporting it charges up, so he can't just automatically teleport in front of someone, if they are moving he will have to wait like 3 seconds before teleporting over there, watch the clip, his character outline starts glowing to indicate he's closer to teleporting.
and what's even better that he cant see them on the map so he cant just instantly go right towards them, he'll have to use the tracker to find them
and he only knows exactly where to teleport, because they played it out that way, to show off the mechanics of both sides. You can see that the one girl going outside stopped to give Jason time to teleport out the back first.
Yeah the developers said they did it this way just to show the games details off. I think they should (and might) end up doing it like Left 4 Dead, you can see survivors but you can only spawn at a certain distance and not RIGHT on them. Like Jason said they played it out for our amusement even having the person under the bed look at the window and having Jason look into the window before coming in, coming to the bed last etc. I just hope people dont automatically go to the bed hoping for an easy kill every time or else no one will use it for hiding.

For those of you who have a problem with the teleporting, saying it's not realistic. Remember that Jason is far from being human anymore. He died as a child in Crystal Lake and his mother resurrected him with the necronomicon, a demonic book. With him already being practically invincible, having other super natural powers like teleportation isn't out of the realm of possibility.
The teleporting part is a stretch. if you were a fan of the Jason trilogy, You would noticed that the thing that made Jason so terrifying is his ability to predict where victim's is going to be and meet them there. So if they're gonna do the teleporting thing, at least make it alot more subtle or stealth-like and NOT have him appear out of thin air like a wizard or something. lol

The dev's said it was op'd in the video for demo purposes. It has to be unlocked and has a cooldown.

F13:TG was the first game I bought when I purchased my Switch this year and it is still the game I play the most. Once you get a good group of online friends to play, it's a fun-filled blast. So damn sorry we won't see any more updates.
Hopefully they'll make those animations a little more fluid, but for a crowd - funded game, I'm quite impressed.

I like the Friday movies but I don't like the idea of playing Jason and killing helpless camp counselors. There isn't much challenge. I DO like the idea of being able to be the counselors and see if you are smart enough to outwit Jason and if you can survive a night a Camp Crystal Lake. THAT is a challenge.
That is what it is....its a game that you play online with people and it generates who is Jason and who is a camper. Then the campers have to work together to get away from Jason.

Likely they'll be trying to find a way to escape, but Jason is supposed to be way more dangerous than them. The counselor's will only be trying to survive, so don't expect them to be killing Jason or something silly like that.
I'm looking forward to it. Or rather, looking forward to watching TH-camrs play it together. I was never a huge fan of competitive multiplayer. I prefer co-op.

the game looks good imo, some people may hate the teleporting but tbh it looks pretty balanced, it looks a little slow to teleport or (quick travel) like it doesn't look like you can spam it, and it also looks like its a specific area of where to teleport like no teleporting on top of the player or anything. I think they should add in a first person option.
The teleporting was literally the only thing I found interesting. The killer in 80s horror movies was meant to be ever-present and unpredictable, always able to pop up at the next turn. But, that's also only supposed to be the END of the movie. The majority of the movie was always the victims being oblivious that they are being hunted at all, partying and trying to have sex, then anyone who actually had sex was butchered, followed by anyone who tried to have sex. You can't claim to be making something in the Friday the 13th franchise without making it anti-sex. If these people were in charge of the original movies, the Sexual Revolution of the 1970s might never have ended!

I’m so saddened to hear that the online servers will be shutting down by the end of this year. I’ve had such a blast over the years playing this game whether it was with friends or with randoms. Nothing will ever compete with the 10/10 execution these guys pulled off. They couldn’t have done a better job at turning a movie into a really fun multiplayer where you are either against the waves, or working with people as a team to survive. Game like dead by daylight and the new Texas game try to do what they did. But it will never bring the same vibe as this one. I will always thank the developers for their outstanding work at adaptation and overall game development. I wish there was a way to stop the servers going down. People still love to play it, go hop on right now and you’ll get a game. Play it while you can at least.

I'm pretty sure he can only teleport if nobody is looking at him, which is a pretty big limitation. Of course, it also looks like he can teleport into someone's field of view, which is bad. I think it would be better if he could instead enter a high-speed stealth form that allows him to move extremely fast while invisible, but he can only activate and deactivate it when nobody is looking, and he can't interact with anything while it's active. It would help to capture that classic "Jason appearing from nowhere" feeling while also being more balanced.

Well we got nothing with that engine upgrade, I don't get it, the early alpha looks like a final product while we just got lied to it looks like. Jason looks much better while walking, grab was already smooth in this version, lighting is better, sense looks better, so much more, blood was better.

This has always been the case with these louzy developers. illfonic has a pretty bad history with developing games this looks really good but we never got what we actually needed to get. Instead they build up on a way older build to make it look like they are patching the game. They think were stupid or something when an alpha looks better you have to give the alpha instead of the final buggy mess we got building patches to nothingness. Because after all the game is still as broken as it was. I'M 100 percent sure they are lying about the whole lawsuit because they already wanted to abandon it earlier. Atleast rumours. And guess what make up a story and get away with the cash you made on a buggy mess. I'm never trusting these guys anymore at illfonic. Gun is alright and I'm sure they are very nice guys. But i think illfonic is the bigger picture here. They fucked up our promised good f13 game.

DROIDARMY LEADER We can't put the blame on Gun since they didn't dev the game, but illfonic those guys are the target here. They always developed games and moved on, now it's the same with this game. We have nothing good if they still keep patching this game because it's patching to nothingness, why does it need so many patches when they simply have an alpha that's completely good looking and bug free. They could've just build up from that instead. It's just unfair to even call this an alpha when it's the final game in our eyes.

That would take too much time. She doesn't walk, nor operate like Jason. Something tells me she'd never be a playable character, but probably an easter egg (her head) .. somewhere.

Yessss. Because as Jason, obviously it wont be scary, more fun than anything, so just put his view in 3rd person. Now, playing as a counselor in 1st person, that would be creepy as fuck. Especially, if you turn a corner, and Jason is right in your face. Or if you're hiding, and the music just stops, and then he jumps out and tries to kill you.

I remember when I first saw this I was like omfg it's the Game I always wanted lol it's still a great game but lookin back on this video i just like how Jason is more intimidating and it feels more creepy and realistic it feels just like a Friday the 13th should feel like but the final game still feels like f13 it's just it kinda feels more cartoonish a little but it's still a great game thanks devs for bringing this game to life and puting out all this amazing content👍

Interesting choice to go with the Part 3 look.
They need to take all that glowy object shit out before game release. Like when the house glows, or other objects like door frames, it takes you out of the moment. Also smooth out those clunky animations and the lag time between pressing square and the character responding, and then it will look much cleaner.

But, even with forgiving the clunky animations, the glowing objects are a part they have done perfectly, yet I just think it ruins the feel of the game. So that suggestion really is still valuable no? Even in pre Alpha.

I can accept the fast travel across the map, but the "Magic Teleporting" and X-Ray Vision looks more like a Magical Grouchy Wizard.

In my option this was the better build of the game.
Better shift animations, bugs around the lights, better ambience, noise indicator bubble was much better, Jason’s sense ability was more refined.

He does though. Haven't you watched Jason movies? There are tons of scenes where he's falling way behind a running victim only to appear ahead of them or ambush them out of nowhere in a place that makes no logical sense - almost like he has the ability to teleport or something.
This isn't so much a canon ability as it is just lazy and illogical writing, but it'd be great if the game actually takes this into consideration and literally gives Jason the ability to just show up out of nowhere like in the movies.

Am I the only one that thinks you should be able to play as on of the teens and there's a time limit where it's dark and when it's dark, that's when Jason comes out. But during the daylight hours you get the ability to retrieve building material to make a cabin house more protective and you need to spend your days looking for materials because each night Jason becomes a stronger version and becomes more dangerous. Make it just a survival game? Seems like you're gonna get killed no matter what in this game and that's no fun

Well the teens never expect anything in the movies! I guess they are trying to keep faithful to the movies. Even so, the teens should have some goal or mechanic that gives them some purpose to survive! Otherwise, it will just be a massacre all the time, and no one will want to be the counselor or the Teens.
+Stryder _ I don't care if it's like mine craft. Never played that game so I wouldn't know what it's like. All I'm saying is, the players should be able to find certain materials to keep Jason from getting in the cabin and killing you. Sticking nails out the door, bear traps, etc. this game kinda seems like you just run around and wait to be killed (no fun) should be a way where you can damage Jason (no gun, swords, etc) and make him retrieve to the lake. If you don't find the right materials, he goes in the cabin, finds you, kills you. (FUN!) - sarcasm. It may not be exactly like the movie but this is a video game, which should be terrorizing and difficult to stay alive. Not just run around and wait for him to slam your head against a rock..
