Love the dropshot. I use 8lb Seaguar flouro with a palomar knot. It the only set up I use a palomar knot with flouro other wise I used a double San diego jam knot with all other lure types and flouro. Ive caught a few 4+ and 5 pounders with this drop shot set up. My favorite drop shot lure is a 4 inch Yum dinger rigged wacky style
Good show buddy, I have been watching your videos for a while, I have never fished in a Kayak, thinking about getting one, but I am 55 years old, but good shape, what does it cost for one you have, I live on Pickwick, Tennessee river, I been in a triton boat for a long time, thanks for the shows
I picked mine up second hand with the garmin graph for 1500. New they are 2800. If I was to make a recommendation I’d say go Nucanoe Unlimited with a Motorguide Xi3. I plan to make a switch at some point
That bay has always been very hit or miss for me. I did manage to get my PB out of a kayak out there in the TVKA Night tournament last year though, so I can't hate it too much.
@@redclayoutdoors I always have good luck in Soddy creek though, and during the week there's not a ton of boats to deal with. I'm headed out today if the wind doesn't kick back up again.
I have a question I didn't see a graph do you use Navonics? How do you find points and humps. I use my phone to mark spots to fish. I drop shot every time I fish. I can suggest too you why you broke off. Never hard set the hook drop shoting. Never ever I can't say that enough. When you feel the bite reel into it and pressure set the hook using the rod. Using a light wire hook the fish hooks it's self no matter how big. Owner Mosquito light hook or a Gamagatsu G finesse straight shank hook. If I set the hook on 6lb test like you did i would miss the fish every time till I made the change to reel setting hook sets.
I do have a garmin unit but i use navionics before I go out to a spot just to get a rough idea. Ounce I’m on the water I use my graph and will occasionally pull out navionics just to search around a little faster. I appreciate the advice on the hook set and I do believe your are probably right as to the cause.
Congrats! Appreciate you sharing the adventure!
Thank you for watching

I do the same, except I had 10 pound on this setup

I really think it’s how much pressure it gets
@@redclayoutdoors I think so as well. Every time I'm there it is just completely full of boats fishing.
@@SamPirtle the entire lake is like that right now though

Let’s go sometime,
Soddy is my spot
