One thing I noticed about Africa is that after you buy your land, you can do whatever you want with it. You can build according to your own financial situation. Not everyone is required to have the same looking house. I am not saying every African country or community do this, but it seems it is common. I like that.
I think it is because in the majority of Africa the purpose of building a personal house is not for future profit from resell of the house . In the U.S.A (and most likely in the majority of Western countries), the majority of housing is for profit and regulations on housing design is used to maintaining house value

My plot is smaller than his and I am comfortable
In two years he has a very neat place. You can tell he is smart because he built his place on his own to his liking. No contractor hassle. No high weeds and brush. He has a clothes line and his hair is nicely lined up. I bet he takes care of that too. A good neighbor to have.
Maybe you guys can give him a puppy for protection. Will alert him at all times. I luv it! He is so SMART! No light bill and water bills.

This is the simplicity that we need! I love everything about this place and it feels like pure peace . A few more weeks before I punch out this matrix. Five minute walk to the beach , one room and outdoor bath set up and from there on it’s my joy and imagination that will work with me. The ultimate thing I seek is self sufficiency and peace .

Nice building concept, I have a plan for bamboo, but everyone will be building as he did in a short while. He'll have to raise it up a couple of meters in the future though.
India is also in it's age of decline. There's a bigger reason why the Caucasian is returning to Africa besides the land.

Beautiful. Your neighbors can build cisterns to collect the water during the rainy season. Collect the water for the area. Direct it for the cows and crops. Stain the wood tables and posts so they last a lifetime. Trees will help the soil also.

I love this. So inspiring!!!! I actually moved to Senegal to live simple like this and to literally build my own house with my own hands but no one understands that though, especially because I’m an American woman. This is inspiring. I actually have a beautiful female German Shepherd puppy that I’m selling but would gift to him if someone could figure out how to get her down to Gambia.

@@maesams6212 🤔 I would guess with thatch (multiple layers of large leaves) but if a good question.. in my opinion bamboo is nice but maybe in conjuction with mud brick or compact mud walls surrounding it but not touching if that makes sense

Rare for someone to have a gun and hard to acquire. I'm sure most would assume he doesn't have much to take anyway because of his building style. Not too much animal threat either
