THE DROP is a new crime drama from Michaël R. Roskam, the Academy Award-nominated director of BULLHEAD. Based on a screenplay from Dennis Lehane (MYSTIC RIVER, GONE BABY GONE), THE DROP follows lonely bartender Bob Saginowski (Tom Hardy) through a covert scheme of funneling cash to local gangsters - "money drops" - in the underworld of Brooklyn bars. Under the heavy hand of his employer and cousin Marv (James Gandolfini), Bob finds himself at the center of a robbery gone awry and entwined in an investigation that digs deep into the neighborhood's past where friends, families, and foes all work together to make a living - no matter the cost.

I wouldn't consider him a legend as hes 95% of the time known only for his role on the Sopranos which more or less kickstarted his acting career. Before and after that series he plays mostly minor or supporting roles occasionally being a main character.
+Glenn A bryan cranston wrote a tweet saying if there was no tony soprano, there will be no walter white, james gandolfini made the anti-hero role what it is today, popular to the public, which paved the way for shows like, the wire, breaking bad, walking dead, mad men etc
An extremely underrated and engrossing film, with great performances by so many actors. I must have watched it on cable half a dozen times and never tired of seeing it. Miss you, James..... and, Tom, you dominate the screen every scene you’re in. Worth your time, no doubt.
Was very highly rated (89% on rotten tomatoes) just very under-promoted. Was a little bit like Warrior with Tom hardy. Absolutely excellent film but flew inder the radar

The role he played here, reminded me of Kevin Spacey playing Verbal Kint/Kaiser Souze in the "Usual Suspects" - there are many similarities - a weak, feeble, "almost-NOBODY", that IN FACT is pulling the strings and is the one in CONTROL FROM THE BEGINNING 'TILL THE END, but you don't see it, until the end of the movie - A REAL "TWIST IN THE STORY"! :) Furthermore he turns out to be the most RUTHLESS MOTHERFUCKER in town, with some sort of PERSONAL "HONOUR-CODE", although he's "JUST A BAR-TENDER"! >: ) BRILLIANT!!! I still remind him from "LAWLESS" - ANOTHER EXCELLENT MOVIE!

lol Bronson was pretty great, i have only actually enjoyed maybe 3 English movies (Clockwork Orange, Bronson and Snatch) but thats more of jsut a lack of watching English movies.... ims ure there are more. only thing i didnt care for about Bronson was the parts where he was performing for an audience and he would have 2 personalities. but i understand why that was in the movie, its jsut his mental illness. but yes great movie all in all!
Tim O'Brien The Third Man is probably my favorite British movie. Along with Clock Work Orange and Lawrence of Arabia.

Such a great film. Very gritty. All the performances were incredible, but this is one of Tom Hardy's most complex characters. He absolutely killed this.

iAfrah ERZ I don't think that actors get their income from the public... don't they just get paid by the crew and we pay the crew... that way once they are done shooting they get paid and the film crew has to get their share from us... I'm not sure

Was originally psyched for this movie when I only knew Tom Hardy and Noomi Rapace were in it (mainly for Noomi) but I once I found out James Gandolfini was in it i just gotta see this opening weekend.
Tom Hardy was great in the movie Locke, if a person can do a scene where the whole movie take place in a car and still great to watch. I will definitely watch his movie again.

This movie... One of a kind. Real physiological thriller. You watch this amazingly well done trailer but it still tells you nothing about this movie. Must watch.

Out of RESPECT for James Gandofini, I saw this film today. Not a great film, but still very decent....he and Tom Hardy are terrific. Seeing Gandofini's last work was definitely worth the 10 bucks for the ticket, and it was very cool how Hardy changed his voice and adopted a NY accent.....RIP Mr Gandofini.....you'll be missed forever....

I think it was done way better than other blockbuster movies that reveal the entire plot in 2 mins. This trailer got me highly intrigued about the story and the character development.

The trailer is as usual very misleading. The movie is not your typical gangster movie. It's much deeper and complex. I watched it only because of Big Jim and as you can expect,he was spectacular in it. Go watch it
