We need more videos like this from other EV/PHEV owners explaining their daily driving habits and when and where they charge. It's the part that gas car drivers have trouble imagining when you try to explain it to them and how better it is to charge at home vs stopping at gas stations.

Freedom? We own a BOLT and a 2015 VOLT. If I go on a longer trip, we use the VOLT. WHY? Unreliable chargers!!!!!! I don't understand why stopping at gas stations for 5 or less mins is a problem. They're everywhere and THEY WORK.

I'm also curious if he got a gen 2. I just bought a 2017 Premier after 4 years with a 2017 LT. I love them. I just decided that it was worth getting the much lower mileage one with all options even though it's basically the same car. It's quite a bit more luxurious in this trim though.

The end of this cars life with you is a great example of the trouble dealerships and shops can have with new vehicles and the adaption we have been going through with vehicles. You got a ton of use out of the vehicle, but once the electronics start giving trouble it gets VERY hard for your average dealer mechanic to properly diagnose, even their "trained" ones... They're used to gassers, and even on them the modern electronic communication systems can give a heck of a headache to an owner when the shop doesn't know how to properly diagnose these intercommunicating systems and their various inputs and simply picks modules to replace based on a flow chart and probabilities of problems, rather than actually pinpointing the issue... One module can tell another system not to work or to disable itself due to a tiny little issue, and if that little issue isn't found the guessing can cost lots of time and money.
At least it was a happy ownership for you though!

Hey Erick, fantastic video which inspires confidence for me to buy a (at least compared to yours haha) relatively low mileage 2012 Volt with just under 60 000 miles. However, I test drove the car last week & there was a "Service High Voltage Charging System" message on the dash. Apart from that, the car drove just fine. Have you ever had that with yours?
