Jennifer Damiano reunited with Aaron Tveit and Alice Ripley - "Superboy and the Invisible Girl"

- On July 30th, 2016, Jennifer Damiano reunited with original "Next to Normal" co-stars Aaron Tveit and Alice Ripley to sing "Superboy and the Invisible Girl" together for the first time in over six years.
This was the encore number on the closing night of her debut solo cabaret show "Jennuinely," at Feinsteins/54 Below.

"Jennuinely" was co-written with Pulitzer Prize winner Brian Yorkey, music directed by Benjamin Rauhala, and produced by John Mara Jr.
"Superboy and the Invisible Girl" is from the musical "Next to Normal" with music by Tom Kitt and lyrics by Brian Yorkey, and orchestrations by Michael Starobin.
The band here features Mairi Dorman-Phaneuf on cello, Alexandra Eckhardt on bass, Thad DeBrock on guitar, Marques Walls on drums, and music director Benjamin Rauhala on piano. - เพลง

Yeah no Aaron doesn't look like a teenager by any means - he looks like a very handsome 32 year-old. I think people have an odd idea of how 30-somethings should look. And Jennifer is really little here anyway so she just looks her age.

Please remember the context..... HE IS DEAD. D E A D. So it's not so difficult to imagine how his parents, especially his mother, would be tortured by the notion of...... "what she did wrong."
@@trb7153 this is true, and the mother/parents deserve our compassion - but this song is about the experience of the surviving child (children, in my sister’s case and mine) growing up in the shadow of the D E A D hero child. It took me years to realise my mother indeed loved me as much as she could - but that doesn’t negate what it was like growing up invisible, with her always seeing him when she looked at me. That’s why this play, and especially this song, was so powerful to me.

I have so many things to say about this video. First of all I was in class and was trying so hard not to scream out loud. Second of all Allison looks so freaking great. Third, right before this I watched the older video of this at the awards and Jennifer's voice has grown so greatly now she has way more control and better pitch, and she also looks great. I was already choking on my tears before this even hit the first minute mark. I feel a constant sense of devastation in not being able to go back to this family ever again (recordings aside). I don't care how old any of them get... I'd still buy tickets to watch them do N2N until the end.

I watched the show online way back when and watched the Tony performances. Jennifer was already really good but now, although she gets a few notes in the beginning were slightly off-key, her voice has really matured and she makes it sound effortless. Really nice performance.

I know everyone talk about Gabe stealing her melody and her moving to harmonize but what I also love (whether intentional or not) is that the harmony she moves too is almost out of place, it feels forced and loud and like its overcompensating for something. but it makes it feel right because that's what she's trying to do, she's trying to outshine this memory of her brother and take back the love he keeps taking from her, she's trying so hard to take back her own song from him and musically they tell us that
