Humanity: “neat friendly aliens” (learns horrible history of what happened to them.)”aite it’s on sight.”
Pretty much how the mericans behaved in my country or japan after ww2. Strict but also helping, aiming for the future together
@@thecursed01yeah, we are sorry for dropping two Suns on Japan, but not ashamed of what we did.
@@thecursed01 i wish you well from ny japan is badass i hear you guys are gearing up to kick commie ass
@@barstool9156 at least it was cheaper than the thousands of bombers over my country to flatten cities i assume :) and, as morbid as it sounds, the nukes might have saved more lifes than they destroyed
@@barstool9156 also, your comment reminded me of a joke that was something like "if you had two nukes" and ended with :and one on Japan, just in case they thought we are sorry XD

Humans also discover that giant Spiders are kinda like Doggos and save Human Children: *starts to overcome its fear of Spiders*
Humans discover Spider Doggos got nearly genocided: "So, its total war you chose?" *starts to pets its new Spider Doggos*
Spider read through human libraries. Find out one of our most praised heroes is called spiderman "happy spiderbro noises"
Jumping spiders are actually cute, look it up.
@@atomicskull6405 I don’t care if it its cute that is fucking horrifying

They were peacock spiders! Cute little dancing machines.

He brings the rain
Fuck yeah. Can a spider yell ooh rah, lol?
Dual minigun mounted 8 foot tall wolf spider. Now THAT is terrifying. xD
I just imagine this giant bastard of a tarantula skittering across a battlefield, with a marine on it's back blasting away with a .50 cal and laughing maniacally

No, my horrifying friend. You passed The Great Filter on your own. You gave yourselves the second chance by being friendly and willing to pack bond with one of us. Your peaceful outlook allowed you to survive, even if just barely for a while. Even without us, I believe that you would have rebounded, considering your diaspora. We just had the pleasure of helping you speed run the rebound.
And you? You personally saved your colony. You see, the mass majority of humans are arachnaphobic, so, had you not encountered the child, you would have likely been met with suspicion, and possibly battle. But, for most of us anyway, our pack bonding instincts are far stronger than our phobias; and saving and bonding with a member of our single most protected and precious demographic, you found no greater friends and your oppressors found no greater foe.
Even as an arachnophobe I would, not just gladly accept an order to serve, but actually request to serve alongside you in battle. Side by side, hand in petipalp, let's go free your brethren.
Are you okay?
@@halogeek6 he has fond his purpose
@@halogeek6 Huh? No, why do you ask? Sanity and I are mortal enemies. Not sure what that has to do with my comment or the story, but thanks for asking.🙃
I think you are a little too into this.
@Ryan Hughes Ah the Humanx alliance that finally turned the tide of power in the galaxy. I loved those stories.
I'm imagining a species that look like large jumping spiders like Lucas, with big expressive eyes and fuzzy exoskeletons, and honestly that would be adorable
Jumping spider are adorable already, it's just that they don't live long enough to be pets.
@@purevert And yet because they are, there are folks that do still have em as pets regardless of it being a short time (just saw a cute vid of one offering a live fly to one)
I'll purge a federation over fuzzy spooder friend......
I would be totally ok with that! 😮
Even as an arachnophobe I would be okay with that. All spiders, even daddy long-legs scare me...except jumping spiders. They're too cute to be scared of. :P
Giant spiders. Their web would be as strong as metal
Good story
I mean I've always wanted a have a spider familiar in a dnd world soo
And yea that much silk is scary strong
@@greywolf9783 if it hardes to the core yes, but it needs to dry.
Spider slink is stronger than steal.
That is earth spiders silk, we don't know how their silk is, could be stronger, could be weaker.
Humans don't like spiders, but humans don't like slavers more.
I like it when the humans aren't supermen, just super men.
Superb men
So not just the goodguys but good guys?
Humans'll really pack-bond with anything we perceive as friendly. Or even things we perceive as non-friendly but we want to befriend it almost out of spite.
Tiger? Aww it's just like a kitty!
Wolves? Big danger doggo!
Alligator? Swamp puppy!
Elephant? Intelligent tank friend!
I love that they are a combination of spider and colony insect. I can only imagine what one of their warriors looks like.
Terrifyingly adorable little spider friends, we won't let anyone hurt you ever again.
we actually have several spider species that do form colonies on earth just no queen.
@@lordpfeiffer8490 yeah, but those aren't true eusocial arthropods. It's more like they just happen to build their nets in the same places.
@@biggsdarklighter0473 well the aliens in this story aren't Eusocial either, they are social. Eusociallity basically means it's a hivemind to a certain degree.
Look up the older artwork for the arachnids from star ship troopers and not that crappy movie.
@@worldofwarcraftman2 The movie isn't that crappy, it just has a bad reputation because it took about 10 years for the majority of people to figure out that the movie was intentionally designed as a satirical dark comedy, not an action film.
Humans: meet spidey bois and learn of the federation's tyranny
"So. You have chosen death."
I hope they'd acknowledge what it means if i said: looking at you terrifies me and makes me feel sick, I'll still fight for your rights as equals.
Little did we know, the tiny bite the spider bros used to anesthesize the little girls broken leg had mutated her...
SPIDER GIRL!!!
Wolf Spiders, huh?
Was that regiment lead by one Natasha Kerensky?
Natasha Kerensky lead Black Widow Company of the Wolf Dragoons.
Yes. Yes it was
@@davidtherwhanger6795 Yes, and the Black Widow Company war disbanded and then reformed as the Wolf Spiders.
Anyway, the post was a play on the fact that the human regiments renamed themselves into something spider related, after they received one of the spider-aliens as a combatant, some choosing "The Wolf Spiders"
@@EllenbergWHonestly, lots of good spider-themed names for units. Of course Black Widows, Tarantulas, Wolf Spiders, as in the story, but also Recluses, The Harvestmen, Orb Weavers, Trapdoors, Aragog, Arachne, could even have an airborne regiment called The Jumping Spiders 😂
Oh, they saved and treated a lost human, Cool. But you all look like big spiders so not cool. But we'll overlook that as you have shown you are friendly. Listens to spider history. Get angrier and angrier. Humans look at spider people and smile. Humans gift spider people a tropical moon to be comfortable on. Humans check out spider peoples story and come back Mad As Hell. Humans send out SAR Ships to find lost transports in the void between the Spiral Arms. Humans get ready to fight. Humans tell spider people we know what has happened to your people and it is WRONG. Sentient Life is not slaves or food. Humans attack Slave Federation. Humans quickly win. New Federation was formed.
Conclusion:
Humanity is the Last Great Filter. Fail their test at your own risk.
Humanity isn't necessarily the last great filter, just any sufficiently advanced, social, race with aggressive tendencies, strong morals, and stronger empathy.
YOU. DO. NOT. FUCK. WITH. SPIDERBRO.
HEADCANON ACCEPTED!
@@kiritotheabridgedgod4178The Federation species appear to have also passed a Great Filter: They decided not to fight to their collective deaths. If there was a human-led genocide hiding between the lines in that story, I missed it.
Humans meet spider people. Humans roll up galactic newspaper. Humans swat beings stomping on the spider people.
Look, im as arachnophobic as your next average joe, but first impressions mean something and if you demonstrate a clearly working level of empathy before we even work out how to say hi, im pretty inclined towards friendliness, no matter what body my new buddy is in. Universe needs more kindness in it, why turn away someone who might need a friend as much as i do? Especially if we can be that friend to each other instead? The long cold and dark between the stars might just get a bit warmer if we all reached past fear to embrace each other. Just a thought. Mull it over. Or don't. Im not here to tell you how to live.
Add in the fact you now know there is something far worse than these scary looking but friendly beings who have proof of that. That would make it far easier to accept them.
@@isaackinsley1662 Also, it immediately gets us on their side. If there is one consistency in our species, it is that a common enemy unites us far, far more effectively than a common goal or interest.
We'll go to war, go on tight rationing and work tirelessly to defeat a common enemy. But we can't stop having a dick measuring contest for long enough to do something to improve our lot in life, such as develop proper space infrastructure and start actually asteroid mining, meaning we wouldn't have to fight over resources.
True,every word.
Just imagine them as giant fuzzy jumping spiders looking at you with those big puppy eyes of theirs. :P
I know you?
Ever go to a wedding of a crazy stripper and a soldier named "Wenger"?

I'm a guy with what most people would consider a terrifying number of tarantulas, so this story is rad. I would fucking *love* to meet a race of peaceful intelligent spiders. I'd be a weeb for their culture in a month, lol.
You should probably read Adrian Tchaikovsky's Children of Time. There's another or finally!
One is a terrifying number of tarantulas.
@@TheMonk72 I have 16, lol.

New cross galactic silk road run by spiders. Angry chinese noises.
@@thecursed01 a very literal silk road
Humans, find new planet and build stuff. Humans, figure out there are giant spiders on the planet, get nervous, because giant spiders.
Humans, find a giant spider with a picture of, I would assume that they wouldn’t be entirely sure if it was the same giant spider or another giant spider, protecting a child who would’ve gone missing a couple of days ago. Humans: do you know what, we like the spiders.
Humans, after talking to giant spiders, Who, keep in mind, just save the child, R 🦄 informed, Who, keep in mind, just save the child, or informed on what happened to said giant spiders HomeWorld in colonies.
Humans, send out ships to confirm story. Humans, stories confirmed. Humans, right boys and girls, bring out the flamethrowers it’s time for a little bit of fisticuffs. Someone messed with our spider Brose I now need to get cropped.
You. Do. Not. Fuck. With. Spiderbro.
Really, really enjoy these stories. So much sci fi now is ‘humans are garbage’, it’s nice to have sci fi that echoes what Star Trek was.
Look, we all know the real reason we don't like spiders. They act without warning, sudden action, plus the capability of that sudden action to be poisonous. Just walking on us leaves their fangs almost literally brushing our skin.
Combine that with a VERY alien anatomy compared to ours with 8 limbs instead of 4 and it's not strange we don't like them. Especially if, because of the previous reasons we don't spend time near them so they become an unknown. Which breeds fear, and hate.
So, if because a spiderpal shows a picture, waves it for our attention and acts...well, HUMAN. That removes like, ALL those bad reasons and BAM. Spiderbros!
“People ain’t cargo, mate.”
Spider friends committed an act of cardinal virtue: they aided an injured child, so of course we would befriend them
This was such a feel good story! Happy for the spider bros.
As I sit here with mild arachnophobia, I kind of don't know if I wouldn't have lashed out. Luckily that little girl had more heart.
I feel you, but I've had times where I went a few days without food and if a large spider offered me a cheeseburger and gestured for me to accept I think I'd eat it anyway.
This feels like a group of survivors from the new Adam Sandler space movie.
For the algorithm and the narrator.
This is the most feel good story that I have seen on this channel and was also an amazing story
I absolutely love jumping spiders, and I can't help but see these guys in that form. Fantastic story!!!
Reminds me of a scrapped H.A.S.C. story- basically this but in the future, but only us and a spider race.
it was focused on an archavist that looked like a big busy tarantula- its fangs forget the stuff theyre attached to looked like a big bushy mustache. Had a few chapters but was basically like a semi fantasy scifi story about giant ( like at most car sized ) spiders living with people.
Thought the spiders were humans until they mentioned as having fangs, even missed them havig hatching

Giant spider bros. Awesome.

This one was super good
Im fucking scared of spiders but if you are telling me these buggers save our people willingly and simply did not ate them, then I'm sure as hell going to try and overcome my fear to just say thanks to them
the mic really picked up on your inhales during this reading. Curious I've not noticed it on other videos. Were you feeling well when you recorded? Am I just weird hearing the breaths this time when I haven't noticed before? I do not know!
That was a fantastic story. It brightened my day just hearing it

I like to think they look like giant jumping spiders.
Quilx'tch would be proud
Look him up, he's a wonderfully friendly spider alien nutritional anthropologist.
pretty alright but i kinda hate how unrealistic it could be.
most humans fear spiders partially because of being taught to and partially because of instinct since spiders can mean death.
i highly doubt humanity as a whole would just be like "fuck yeah spiders as big as my torso exist in the universe, sweet" while i dont think humans would be like "big bugs AH" and pull out flamethrowers and go on an extermination run because of being aware of them being sentient i dont think theyd be overjoyed to be interacting with them and itd take time for humanity to fully shrug off the fear
another HFY i read a while back had these aliens that were super nice and sweet but were basically pulled right out of our nightmares so humans kinda just poiltely avoided them as much as possible which seems much more likely tbh.
Hey given what had happened to the sapient spiders in this story. An alien species who isn't xenocidal towards but still keeps their distance out of cultural and partial instinctual fear of a non sapient lifeform from their homeworld would be an upgrade. No true malice just jumpy. Might need to get used to idea of humans killing the non sapient terran ones but would not hurt them. Like before, massive upgrade compared to their prior alient interactions
Well, since this plays probably hundreds of years into the future I could imagine three more things
First, the fear of spiders could have receded. I mean, in a civilization capable of FTL, why would you need to fear a couple of small arthropods, especially since by this point humanity would hopefully have made people more aware of how important all parts of the ecosystem are.
Second, by that point our Hype for finding aliens and the fear of there not being any would definitely have grown immensly, so we would be moderately overjoyed even if they were space cthulus
Third, as an arachnophobic, would you want to look hostile towards a bunch of giant spiders, or would you want them to go full BFF mode and protect you forever
I would agree in most part. That may be why the humans gave them a planet of their own.
Sure but at the same time people do think spiders, snakes, lizard etc are also pretty cool.
I mean lets put it this way: Scared of regular spider coz poisonous and creepy ? Sure
Scared of a spider bro who can actually have a meaningfull conversation with you and doesnt see you as a overgrown fly ?
Lot of people could quickly accept that. Especially when the propaganda wheels start turning and the spider bros are generally pretty pleasant folks to be around.
@@MyrdinAnnoth Agreed. Think Spiderman. Even an arachnophobe like me would be eager to fight along side them, even if they make me unreasonably uncomfortable. And, just like I was able to get used to letting my cousin's pet tarantula crawl on me, I think I can get past the discomfort of being around them. In fact, I would probably join their colony for a while to help them out, but also to get over my arachnaphobia. Nothing better for that than to surround myself with ultra friendly giant versions of one of my already irrational fears.
With an unhealthy fear of spiders , I couldn’t imagine their horrifying faces, don’t care if their nice.
I'm pretty sure the sapient spooders would perfectly content with an alien species whose jumpy around them but still willing to give a shit. Big different between active attempts to genocide and an utterly alien being fighting against aeons of cultural and instinctual impulses but is still wants to be friendly.
As long as you don't harm them then it's fine
Just have them wear a tophat, everyone knows spiders don't wear hats. So see hat obviously not a spider, weeeeeeeee!
