Just wanna say thanks to all the people who spoke up on the bisexual question. After reading through the comments I can say I have been truly educated on the topic. I wasn’t aiming to offend or come for anyone. After hearing the perspectives of bisexual people in relationships I now know that situations like those are much more complex than meets the eye. All love at the end of the day 🙏🏾❤️ And don’t worry we won’t be taking the video down. I think these discussions are good to have in order for people like me to gain understanding.

Haha! I had the video on pause and was pulling out the keyboard. I'm glad other people beat me to it. When you love someone, you want them to know who you are completely. My sexuality is a part of me, not some dark dirty secret I need to keep.
For the sexuality bit, I think it’s only fair to come out and be honest with your partner. Doesn’t matter if you are long term or short term. Why be in a relationship if you aren’t willing to know your partner AND be understood by your partner completely?

With the bisexual boyfriend, I don’t think he came out because he was looking for/at someone else but more so that he felt like he couldn’t be 100% himself around her otherwise. Speaking from personal experience, it’s exhausting when I feel that I have to hide that part of myself from other people to make them feel comfortable. Especially if it’s a long term relationship, I shouldn’t have to hide parts of myself from you. Personally, I applaud him for coming out to her because it’s not an easy thing to do.

Honestly I feel for the guy, there have been stories from my friends having to do the same thing and then when they do tell this part of themselves people dip because they don't want to date someone of a different romantic orientation. To each their own of course, but not to bash Josh but that's initially what some if not most heterosexual people feel when this information is brought to them from their significant others.
With the bisexual one, I think it’s just because he wanted to tell her, not meaning that he wanted something else. So they could have that transparency, no secrets. You shouldn’t feel like you have to hide part of yourself from your partner. I as a bisexual woman would tell my partner, just to tell them, so that they know the true me and I’m not hiding anything from them.

Ok so the bisexual thing, coming from someone in the lgbt community, coming out in a relationship does not mean they’re looking for or at someone. It means they trust the other person enough to let them know that and/or they felt it was mandatory for them to tell their s/o about it.
But I feel like referring back to the love em or leave just make sure to tell him before things get serious to make sure the other person is okay with it and so feelings don’t get hurt down the line

I think the reason why there are so many people putting up with these sub par relationships is because now more than ever people (especially the younger generations), crave intimacy, they crave comfort and acceptance and love and sometimes when they come from a place that deprives them from that they tend to stick around in toxic relationships because they can't tell the difference between the love they deserve and they type of love they find with those other people. Even in my case where I have my own standards and boxes to check, I find myself longing for a significant other in this time where I want to focus on mending the relationship I have with myself. It all just ties back into the way society romanticizes and sort of encourages love between significant others more than other or genre of love. So more times than not I personally think that we feel the need to be with someone else in order to feel better or feel and ok and because of that it's harder to look within ourselves or within our family environment to find the support that we need. That could also tie into poor family relations but that's relative to my region of the world and this comment is long enough lol. Love you guys so much ❤❤

I always wonder why society teaches you to love and bond with everyone except the very first person you ever meet: yourself. I'm on a serious self love journey and it's only now that I realize how much the media is saturated with romantic relationship content. It's maddening lmao. I don't hate that kind of love but it hits right in the lonely.

What you said about "people accept the love they think they deserve" I see it Jamaica's society alot! Ik everywhere around the world has contributions to this as well but I can only speak for my country where I see alot of men don't have repsect for women and they accept the bare minimum with these men. They tolerate the disrespect and they cling to the nonchalant ways. These actions are deeper than the surface. This could be their life while growing up. How they see women respond to men as they grew up. They feel like this is what I deserve or I can accept this. We don't just magically grow up and know our worth. We live what we learn. We have to preach more about self awareness to our women. I commend you for being on your self growth journey. I'm actually on one myself, as I learn my worth as a WOMAN. I didn't have the best examples growing up but that doesn't mean I can't be the change I want to see. My mindset isn't a slave of my past. I'm doing my best now to be better for my children and break family curses of women not standing up for themselves or knowing their worth. #selflove

No Lol I'm actually from Dominica and I totally relate with not having the best female role models growing up and kind of trying to figure out what a healthy relationship with yourself looks like. I definitely want to be the change I want to see n break a couple unhealthy cycles in my family so that my future kids and nephews n nieces don't grow up in the same unhealthy environment. I have to say that it's been hard trying to flourish healthily in a environment where even your loved ones are toxic. For a while I thought I had to teach them how to be better while I was still figuring out how to do that myself. I'm also the youngest in my family so by proxy for some reason they tend to take me less seriously. I've just settled for being the best version of myself I can be and letting my actions create a butterfly effect for them to respond to.

Some people just want to let their partners know their true self, some people come out later in their life, etc. Doesn’t mean they don’t love you or they don’t want to be monogamous. I am a Biseuxal woman, who doesn’t let men I am dating that I am Bi because a lot of them sexualize that etc. I am still monogamous, I do not want to “pick a side”-although I am attracted to men, masculinity more, I won’t cheat, etc. But, Josh take on it is also valid.

Being bisexual, I ran to the comments after hearing their thoughts. I recently came out as bi to my boyfriend that I am fully committed to because I wanted to be my full honest and authentic self with him and because I trust him, not because I want anyone else. In return, the right partner will be glad to know more about you and accept you. I was so pleasantly surprised to see so many comments defending the bi community and to see that Josh addressed his change in perspective after reading everyone's comments. I think it is important to realize that being bisexual does not mean that a person cannot be monogamous. Much love to everyone
When someone comes out to you they are sharing a part of themselves with you. And I know in general it's not easy coming out as a bi man in a relationship because some women have these terrible assumptions or just feel threatened by the fact he is attracted to men as well. I always think it's so messed up when a guy trusts a woman he loves with his sexuality and her response is immediately to question how many he's been with, is he going to cheat on me...

ALL of the family and friends that are bi have disclosed that to their spouses or both opposite and same sex but that's my experience. I say to them if u have to hide it from them then work on u or maybe they're not for u. I stand on the opinion of if you are going to have sexual relations with some 1 then that same intimacy plus emotional intimacy should lead you to speak on preferences, certain past experiences, etc. That's indicative of trust b/c u trust that person with every part of who you are. We don't go by looking straight b/c asking certain questions is how u truly get to know some 1 and you SHOULD know them before having sex with them. I know folks who disclosed rapes, molestation, etc. to their spouse while just dating so to us preferences shouldn't be an issue but we are entitled to have different opinions.

Hi Josh & Isi. I don't know if this will help my sister out but here goes. My question to her is: 1) What attracted her to him that she was "willing" to become his girlfriend, 2) How long had she known him before she decided to marry him, 3) Besides getting his papers, were emotions or a possible future together discussed , 4) depending on her age and maturity, she may be able to answer questions 1-3 . Lastly, You can always learn to love someone, it is respect of yourself and others that become the true test in the decisions we make. This is my little two cents and maybe it has shed a little light that could possibly help her. Thanks for sharing with us and allowing us to participate. Peace and Love. 🙏🏿💜
