The problem with Italian food is that it's actually quite cheap in Italy, but it's advertised as so fancy for the tourists...
Btw Italian breakfast is usually sweet. What you are for breakfast looks more as an appetizer :)
I love Italy and Italian food although I've never tried authentic ones it's just the ones from convenience store here in Japan 😭👹

Can someone please help... I once had a salad & cheese plate with small mozzarella/bocconcini texture balls that were slightly gooey in the centre... They were delicious!!! But I swear they had a different name perhaps German?? For years I've never found out what the exact cheese was...

Most Italians don't really have a big savory breakfast. They either skip it all together or grab an espresso or something sweet like a croissant filled with either chocolate cream, custard cream or apricot jam.😊

kinda true, but when we go to school or during breaks at work it's quite common to eat a sandwich or like schiaccia ripiena with smth - and these breaks are like at 10/11 am, so it can still count as breakfast ahah

You should do "I only ate German Food for 24 hours" - btw there is a wide variety of German foods out there (my dad's mum's family are German and when I went out there before covid, we went to a supermarket and there was aisles of stuff, even vegan & vegetarian stuff, but idk what it's like in London for German food as it's quite limited in West Sussex lmao 🤣)

Yes I have personally never seen an Italian eat savory breakfast (yet) - most coffee bars will serve sweet pastries like cornetto, torta, biscotti etc. What Taz made is closer to what they’d have for lunch I think

-We actually eat sweet things for breakfast, like cookies, cereal or pastry and we drink espresso, cappuccino or tea (without milk)
-That cheese in water was a type of the real mozzarella
-That bread you ate for breakfast is called focaccia

hi I am Italian and next time I recommend having sweet breakfast with brioche and cappuccino and in Italy the sauce you made does not exist! maybe just try cooking zucchini with no tomato sauce and add it to the pasta with some parmigiano..love ur channel!
As an Italian I have to say that you didn't do bad except for the breakfast, which is usually something sweet, like buiscuits with milk and coffee. Despite this, I just want to say that you are an amazing person 💕
You need to dip the Cantucci into red wine, the traditional thing to have would be Vin Santo (a dessert wine from Tuscany just like the biscuits), but red wine will do as well. A typical Italian breakfast is sweet, croissant (and similar) and coffee (and similar). However my parents owned a bakery and 9 times out of ten I had pizza. Also, the Gianduiotti chocolates are from my region, Piedmont, made with our famous hazelnuts

As an Italian myself I’d say you did pretty good! So, breakfast was there... like maybe the thought. I mean pizza and mozzarella are things that Italians have on a daily basis, and same goes for salame, but just not together and DEFINITELY not for breakfast. As you said, we mainly do spreads with either jam or Nutella, or we have cornetti or we just have a coffee (that is a must in Italy, especially an espresso!), milk, and plain cookies. As for lunch, it was pretty accurate. Fresh pasta is *chef kiss*, my grandma makes fresh pasta literally every week. Dinner was kind of accurate too. Maybe not the veggies in the sauce, you won’t see that here (not in restaurants, that is) but I personally prefer it that way. The usual tomato sauce gets boring sometimes lol. As for dessert, well, there’s nothing you can say to a good tiramisù... Overall, I’d say you did a pretty good job! Also considering that you live in London. I remember when I was in London, I was curious to try food labeled as Italian, and I did, but there really weren’t many options faithful to the originals. I mean if I were to eat fish and chips here, it would be waaaaay different from what I’d get in the UK. So you gotta work with what you have, right?
Ps. I apologize for any mistakes I might have made in this long-ass paragraph. English is obviously not my mother tongue.

Fun fact: the bread that you use for breakfast it's called focaccia and it's from Liguria, a region on the north-west! In Liguria they eat it with cappuccino even if it's salty, it's a tradition!❤

Hye Taz! If you want to try doing this 24 hour challenge with Jamaican food, I suggest: Breakfast - Saltfish fritters and/or Ackee and salt fish with fried dumplings, Lunch - Patty with Cocoa bread, Dinner - rice and peas with oxtail and/or curry goat, Dessert - Gizzada, Drink - coconut water

The breakfast is not made of bread, is made of "schiacciata" or also called "focaccia"
I think the schiacciata is the shoe sole bread isn't it?
@Rachael Holmes I had to search for it because I didn' know about shoe sole bread at all 😅 but I think they are different.
In Toscana schiacciata is quite oily and salty (indeed I was quite perplex seeing her put oil on it since it contains a lot of it 😂) but it has the same flour bread has and not much else (oil, salt, yeast), from my research I think sole shoe bread it has puff pastry in most of the recepies? (Sound tasty too 😃)
@@MsStresa yeah, shoe sole bread is like a cross between a bread and a pastry and a batter. It's thin and yummy. Just asked my nonna and I got it wrong. It's called scarrpaccia.

Hello Taz! I'm so happy you enjoyed our food! As an Italian I want to tell you something:
1. What you ate for breakfast is more commonly eated as "aperitivo" at 7pm before dinner accompanied by a cocktail. BTW I come from Liguria (like Luca from Disney movie), near Cinque Terre and we actually eat Focaccia in the morning with cappuccino! 😍
2. The pizza looked really good! 😍 And I'm so happy you liked the parmigiana. Next time you should also try FARINATA and PANIGACCI or SGABEI (I'm sure there are some Italian restaurants for those plates in London)
3. The pasta looked really good and I think you improved your cooking skills a lot! Next Time try "Tortellini in brodo" and, of course, CARBONARA😍
4. The desserts were quite good, except the one with hazelnut which I've never seen. Next time try Cannoli 😍😍😍💪💪

Tip for when you're scraping food into the pan: turn the knife upside down to do it - you don't get that horrible scraping sound and it helps keep your knife sharp

In Italy we have a sweet breakfast, usually espresso or juice with a croissant or biscuits.
The most important meal of the day for us is not breakfast but lunch, so we don't eat much for breakfast.
What you put on top of the focaccia (what you called bread, but it's actually more of a type of pizza) is the real mozzarella and we have it for the "aperitivo" or like appetizers! :)
I've never tried that dessert, but seems really good!

Italian breakfast is usually sweet! Maybe bread and jam, biscuits or a croissant with coffee, cappuccino or orange juice. Also Ravioli are usually "seasoned" (don't know if it's right) with butter! Loved the video by the way! Your enthusiasm makes me happy and relaxed!
