So, I think the "Shane Bobber" nickname is how parents deal with trauma so they can continue on and still provide parenting to their children without letting that trauma take them over. My twin brother and I were born premature, as most twins are, and he took the brunt of the issues that affect premature babies. I was 'relatively' fine, only a couple weeks extra in the hospital. My brother took a full six weeks to come home, was in the NICU for a full month of those six weeks and has had vision issues his entire life because of it. My mother affectionately called him 'her Rat Boy' her entire life because of how he looked at birth.
@@ryanredmond3524 ehh you learn to deal. I have quite the thick skin now. Unless you insult the people in close with, I'm usually quite chill so I got something out of it.
As someone who has imposter syndrome, Shayne's words definitely hit like a truck. I've constantly put myself down for things I have accomplished because of the innate desire to be unique, to stand out, or to simply be a cut above the rest. I'd usually compare what others are capable of and spiral down into thinking that my accomplishments were flukes or were strokes of luck. What I failed to realize was just how much fun and how happy I was in the process of gaining those achievements. Not once did I think about getting an award or being better than others in the process of doing the things that got me those achievements and awards. I'm rambling, but if you can read this, thanks, Shayne. I really needed that :,)

Not a big fan of "food interviews", but I must say this is a much more clever format than most. You actually learn things from a person, that wouldn't normally come up.
As someone who has watched Smosh for a long time, probably 12 years. Having seen Shayne from the beginning you can definitely see how performative it all was at first. You can see how when he was first starting out he wanted to stand out and maybe sometimes was trying too hard or be something he wasn’t. Looking at everything now, he seems so much more himself. He’s comfortable in his beliefs and his ways that it’s inspiring to see the growth. And the part at the end about living in the moment and how it’s not all about the destination or the goal you think you’re trying to complete. As I sit here with my 4 day old baby, tired, frustrated and anxious, it’s reminding me to live in the moment. My baby sleeping peacefully on my chest, and that he’ll never be this small again. To be happy to be here rather than only thinking about what comes next.
The first time I ordered them and they weren't original recipe, I literally told the waiter there was a problem, and he told me they changed, and I was devastated lmao
tbh it actually makes sense bc i used to work at chilis a couple of years ago (absolutey horrible experience btw ruined chilis for me) and people barely ordered the original crispers, didn’t know they took them out until this video. i loved them but everybody is always going to go with the crispy basic chicken
To follow this up, I didn't eat chicken from the time I was in middle school until I was an adult who was almost 30. Those chicken crispers were my favorite thing there.
Glad to see Shayne here. He gets so little screen time on Smosh that I forget about him, sometimes. All kidding aside, he seems just as likable and grounded as Josh. Honestly, 2 of my top 3 (along with Beau of the Fifth Column) TH-cam personalities.
i didnt know who shayne was and watched this because I like these interviews. And now im glad i got to know him a little bit. Plus maybe ill give arbys a second chance
It is completely normal to not have memories before the age of 4. Your brain is still developing. Hypnotherapy has been shown to create memories that were not there and did not happen. You are essentially dreaming up what could have happened and the therapist then solidifies it as reality.
The way my memory works, I barely have 'memories' from a week ago. I know stuff happened, but I'm remembering knowing that it happened, rather than remembering the event itself, if that makes sense? I can remember _stuff_ just fine, but events? not so much. I have the occasional flash, but they're rate.
As someone who was introduced to Shayne from The Goldbergs, id like to say that he is very funny and I cant wait to see what the future holds for his acting career. He is freaking hilarious and deserves all of the success.
The overall theme of death really works for josh. If anybody else did it, it would come off like they were trying to be edgy. Josh is so charming and knows exactly how to talk about some of these topics without making it uncomfortable.
Shayne and Josh are the best they both talk about both their journeys while completely different in such a positive way to use those negatives as ways to help them be secure and better now. Plus their humor matches so perfectly. Trevor must be so proud of his Dad's in this episode.
I realised just how much I love Smosh and Shayne with this video. I was smiling every moment of it. Pun recognised, but not intended, he topped Tom Hanks and Gordon Ramsay for best Last Meals in my opinion.

When I consider Shayne’s career and the path he’s taken, it really does sometimes feel like it was meant to be. He’s taken what life has given and turned it into gold. Also, Josh, your interview skills are second only to your cooking skills.
Shayne. SHAYNE. Let me say the choice of Chili's crispers pre 2022 was absolutely godly. YOU TOOK YOUR CHANCE IMMEDIATELY AND I APPLAUD YOU BECAUSE THOSE CHICKEN CRISPERS WERE GOD TIER
Dude, Barro's is one of my favorite pizzas too. I actually went to high school with the sons and was lucky enough to have their pizza served in the cafeteria, small town joys!

Hearing someone who i have looked up to for so long going through similar struggles and how to cope helps me so much. Thank you Shayne for being so open
As an Irish person who lives in a city very very connected to the Troubles, hearing Shayne say that at 39:15 was genuinely hilarious. I cackled so loudly.
Josh please show us how to make these wet Chiles Crispers. They look so incredibly delicious. Those were one of my uncles favorite things to eat. I always wanted to try them.
I knew this episode was gonna be so epic. As an actor and musician who is 29 almost turning 30 years old Shayne actually managed to help get excited for my 30s and gave me a lot of hope. Thank you for this. ❤
They talk about how you put on a show for the camera and therefore what people see on camera still isn't truly who they are, that just seeing a performative version of them. But the way he talks in these non-character things like Smosh Mouth and when he gives his thoughts on Reddit stories and these kinds of interviews... I think we see enough of the real him. His kindness, thoughtfulness, empathy. I don't get excited about celebrity relationships, but Shayne and Courtney are a huge exception. They're both just such wonderful people in those ways, and I almost envy both of them equally for getting to be so close with the other lol.
I think we need another Perfect Person scenario where Miles collected all the Smosh Cast/Crew as guests, where Josh just gets all of Smosh slowly over time
About the parasocial thing: I actually realized that i was doing this a long time ago with a particular youtuber. Like, "you're saying stuff I'm thinking," "you like the things I like," and all that. It's crazy how you can develop an attachment through things like that, but I did. It actually wasn't until Mythical bought Smosh, and I was introduced to Smosh, that I changed it. Here I was watching all this content with 1 to 4 people and getting these connections, then Smosh has this robust cast of amazing talent, and it was like I immediately glombed on to people like Shayne, Courtney, Olivia, Amanda, Spencer, etc, but there were the others on the cast that, yes, I liked a lot, but had less in common with like Keith, Noah, Ian, Anthony, and the rest. I started to key in on differences in more common things. But it was Damien that really got me to realize it. I can't remember his exact quotes, but he's talked a lot about his twitch community, his fans, etc, and how he's kinda set these boundaries with them that when he's on camera he's not the same as off camera and people need to respect that. And seeing how his community is so supportive, I was able to really challenge myself and be like...If I met Shayne in real life...he doesn't know that I even exist before that moment. So if I came up and started smothering him, etc, that would be pretty creepy for him. So, now, if I ever met Shayne on the street, I would probly just be like "I love your work. Mind if I get a selfie or a fist bump?" You know, if he doesn't look busy like eating with his friends etc. Idk why i shared, but parasocial stuff can get kind of intense from the perspective of the one its affecting. I think the best bet is to keep reminding people that what you see on screen isn't always the same off.
One: Personally, this is the best meal I've seen - the one I'd want the most, myself. Two: It's so interesting to see the difference in the energy between internet celebs and movie celebs when answering these questions. Like with Broski, too, there is a different awareness when TH-camrs are on this show vs when actors are on a press junket. Both are great and interesting watches! But there's a palpable level of comradery when other TH-camrs are one.
I agree. They know the medium so much better obviously. But with this one in particular it obviously also makes a difference that Shayne and Josh have known each other for years.
I also like that Shayne actually ate here, as weird as this may sound. But look at the Sean Evans one. Dude talked a bunch about how much he loved Chicago deep dish, they made one for the Interview from scratch and then he didn't even touch his slice.

Having social grace like this is so amazing, he's so connected to his guests and really treats them like friends rather than celebrities no matter how big their name is or how famous they are.

I truly love listening to Shayne talk. Though he's mostly silly on camera, his thoughtfulness and introspection is so lovely to hear. I can listen him talk forever ❤
Yes! Glad he has the podcast and reddit stories to show off that side of him
@@hernameispekka_Rebecca yes!
Perhaps the first person on this show that’s actually died!
Ur so right
They’re putting him down 😢
They couldn't breastfeed him his actual last meal from before it happened on TH-cam, so this is the second best option
@@ethantalbot1811are you referring to the time he drowned, or a Smosh vid? 💀

You should check out the hot ones too if you haven't already
Marked this interview in my favorites playlist for whenever I need hope about life :) Also that naan tower was so slay
Those original chicken crispers going away is the worst food decision in a minute
Those chicken crispers were my favorite thing there.
are these not just a chicken ball from a north American chinese take out place or is there something very different about them?
@@ron_lalande incredibly different lmao

Glad to see Shayne here. He gets so little screen time on Smosh that I forget about him, sometimes. All kidding aside, he seems just as likable and grounded as Josh. Honestly, 2 of my top 3 (along with Beau of the Fifth Column) TH-cam personalities.

THE SHAYNE BOBBER NICKNAME TOOK ME TF OUT LMAO
Shayne just described acceptance and commitment therapy. Acknowledge the damaging thought and pursue your values despite the other thoughts presence.
It is completely normal to not have memories before the age of 4. Your brain is still developing. Hypnotherapy has been shown to create memories that were not there and did not happen. You are essentially dreaming up what could have happened and the therapist then solidifies it as reality.
Same thought that I had when he brought it up. Though I'm sure he was only kidding, haha. 😂
The way my memory works, I barely have 'memories' from a week ago. I know stuff happened, but I'm remembering knowing that it happened, rather than remembering the event itself, if that makes sense? I can remember _stuff_ just fine, but events? not so much. I have the occasional flash, but they're rate.
@@fuzzysteveim the opposite! For the life of me I can’t remember stuff, but I remember events just fine.
As a middle eastern I felt SO surprised and happy seeing dolma on Shayne's last meal lineup 😭
As someone who was introduced to Shayne from The Goldbergs, id like to say that he is very funny and I cant wait to see what the future holds for his acting career. He is freaking hilarious and deserves all of the success.
Josh is a really good interviewer. You can tell he was inspired by the Hot Ones series, but his unique sense of humor really shines through
The overall theme of death really works for josh. If anybody else did it, it would come off like they were trying to be edgy. Josh is so charming and knows exactly how to talk about some of these topics without making it uncomfortable.
This is one of the more touching episodes. Something about Shayne's approach to this whole thing is so gentle. It's really nice
Now I want Courtney, Ian, Anthony, and Damien on Last Meals lol
Ooh Anthony especially, I feel like he would have some very interesting answers
Shayne and Josh are the best they both talk about both their journeys while completely different in such a positive way to use those negatives as ways to help them be secure and better now. Plus their humor matches so perfectly. Trevor must be so proud of his Dad's in this episode.

dang I didn't think you guys could manage to snag a bigger celebrity than Tom Hanks, but here we are
I realised just how much I love Smosh and Shayne with this video. I was smiling every moment of it. Pun recognised, but not intended, he topped Tom Hanks and Gordon Ramsay for best Last Meals in my opinion.
same exact thoughts. i just love this guy.
As an Indian, watching Shayne devour and enjoy Garlic naan, which is my absolute favorite, makes me feel lot more closer to him and love him more. ❤
I just love the mythical crew and the smosh gang and all the chaos and fun that they create for us. Takes me out of my head and the crap happening in my life and makes me happy. Thank you for the escape guys! We appreciate you.
it's always such a pleasure to listen to someone as brilliantly humorous as shayne speak outside the comedic sphere! thank you josh for gifting us with another beautiful interview
This! That's why I love reddit stories and the smosh mouth podcast so much because you get to see these sides of shayne!

Y'know who would be INSANE to see on here? Angela Giarratana
I genuinely really want her and Keith to be on here. Actually, just gradually feature all of Smosh
We’ve had Jason Kelce and Gordon Ramsay, now we’ve hit the peak with Matt Bradley! You guys are great at getting those A list people!
I'm a huge Smosh fan, and Shayne always seems like a real chill person, I really hope he's like that in real life because we need more people like Shayne in this world.
Shane is legit my fav people ever ngl
Hearing someone who i have looked up to for so long going through similar struggles and how to cope helps me so much. Thank you Shayne for being so open
Shayne: "You've really done your detective work" at 18:39. Inner monologue of Josh: "We asked Trevor"
That thing about not letting yourself be genuine even when you're jornaling hits hard❤
“Unlocking new levels” “hits hard”. ¿Super into pitiful gen z phrases much? Just kidding that wasn’t a question :-(
As an Irish person who lives in a city very very connected to the Troubles, hearing Shayne say that at 39:15 was genuinely hilarious. I cackled so loudly.
Uppa Belfast yeo

Josh please show us how to make these wet Chiles Crispers. They look so incredibly delicious. Those were one of my uncles favorite things to eat. I always wanted to try them.
I knew this episode was gonna be so epic. As an actor and musician who is 29 almost turning 30 years old Shayne actually managed to help get excited for my 30s and gave me a lot of hope. Thank you for this. ❤
I love shayne so much, he was the sole reason I kept watching smosh while all the funky stuff was happening years ago. He’s such a likable person.
As fun as "crazy Shayne" is on Smosh, I love listening to "philosophical Shayne."
I think we need another Perfect Person scenario where Miles collected all the Smosh Cast/Crew as guests, where Josh just gets all of Smosh slowly over time
I like this idea
yeah and im still waiting for shayne to be on perfect person
"I can't think my way out of this" is something I didn't know I needed to hear
Adding garlic naan tower to my future wedding wishlist omg
Yeah, I have gotten so many parasocial relationships with many youtubers but maybe it’s because I’m older but it’s not that strong anymore
@@CedricBassman very true. This is also the guy who was used to food shows being terrible after dealing with Eat or Yeet it for years lol Can’t blame him for taking advantage of getting some great food on a TH-cam show for once 😂
I've watched too much smosh that I forget that Shayne really is a wise, educated and opinionated person. Like this person can go from a screaming deranged man to a philosopher who will move your heart in ways you can't imagine.
The wet battered chicken crispers from chilis were my FAVORITE. Please teach us how to make these!

I could listen to Shayne talk about psychology and philosophy for hours, its such a passion topic of mine and I love his ideas and takes on things in those spaces
Usually, I think these interviews are too deep for me/ my brain first thing in the morning; I'm more of a shuffle board and weird gadgets kinda person. However, this was a really neat glimpse into Shayne's inner life. And it made me think. Thanks for hanging out together and talking about life and then sharing it with all of us.
Ps. Shayne, the zombie apocalypse RPG y'all did was some of my FAVORITE smosh stuff. Especially your characters. I appreciated that you kept participating after your first character died, and you still found funny ways to contribute to the story.
It would be beyond messed up if Josh “accidentally” put a bunch of malic acid in one of the dishes, just to test Shayne’s grave mouth
Nah he's not garrett(i think, i hope, i havent watch the whole vid yet)
Looks like Shayne finally got his lunch order in
I love that Shayne talked about imposter syndrome. I can relate and inalso have it. When you work in an industry where you constantly have to prove yourself and work on tons of projects to be the best its hard not to have it.
Shayne you guys saying that you had a mutual agreement to announce when you got married is so cool looking back to my experience when you first announced it thinking would they joke or not but trusting that the both of you would fill in ur fans
