That surprises me about the meal service. I have taken UA several times on the red-eye between LAX-CLE & a full dinner service is offered in First (Business) with a choice of 6 meals to preorder for the flight.
No meal on a red eye flight is standard for US carriers. You would most likely have received the same service on DL, UA or B6 on a red eye of that length.

Red eye flights are usually limited service in all classes. First class being the exception. I fly AA frequently, some flight service is good, some not so good. But you can say that about most domestic carriers in the U.S. it’s profit above service. The days of great service are gone forever.
American Airlines is becoming the next Spirit. It’s sad and unfortunate how much they have fallen. They seem to care less and less about their customers. Hope you get a middle seat review soon. Untied middle was great definitely recommend
Unless you're on the red eye between Los Angeles or San Francisco and New York/JFK, you will not receive meal service on an overnight flight within the USA. They should offer meal service on these long overnight flights from Phoenix, Vegas, and San Diego, but they don't. It's shameful.
Wow For a business class flight only a basic snack service is provided It’s so embarrassing European and Asian airlines provide a hot Meal for a smiling fight in length of time and distance 😢
While the European airlines offer a hot meal, they don't offer bigger seats and most don't offer any more legroom, they just block out the middle seat. You're also lucky to get inflight wifi, and good luck getting power or even tvs

I use AA for convenience. They are not a service-based airline and provide zero experience. I fly them as Phoenix is home and they are convenient for direct flights for long weekends and business trips. For leisure or vacation, when time is less of a concern, I usually fly Delta even if it means having a connection. I wish AA would step up its hard product and offer more of an experience.
The PHX airport is well laid out, easy to find your way around and the security lines are well displayed. Easy to get to the rental cars too via the very fast train. Good job PHX airport planners. However AA is struggling, they are saddled with an enormous amount of debt $39.44 billion to be exact which absolutely insane and not making any profits worthwhile talking about. Basically AA is broke.
I would have expected at least a warm breakfast sandwich prior to arrival in PHL. I understand no IFE, as a streaming service is much cheaper for an airline to provide.

Get over yourself! If you want a meal, travel during meal times and not on a red eye. Maybe people want to rest and not be interrupted in the middle of the night.

Nope, just flew a red-eye in First with United PHX-IAD and they did a full meal service

Considering we are glued to our phones, laptops and tablets. It makes perfect sense to not have a seat back screen.

I like American, United , Delta and Southwest airliens. All airliens offer entertainment at some level
