Your admission of depression, and the healing effects of being around others on their best days, hearing that was an epiphany like moment for me. I've worked in the leisure/amusement industry since I was 16 (blockbuster & Hollywood video, AMC & Edwards theater, Disneyland, Knotts, & currently at Universal). I feel the same enjoyment being around everyone when fun is being had. Thank you for sharing.
Me and my girlfriend and some friends of ours had the opportunity a few months ago to go to Universal in Orlando and then a month ago to Six Flags over Georgia. Personally, I'm a roller coaster/theme park fanatic. I know it's probably overly said about having a "magical" experience but there's ALWAYS something so renewing/refreshing about a theme park/roller coaster to me that I can't seem to get enough of. I even thought of the possibility of potentially working at one though I had big doubts they could replace my current income ($50k). I guess I was just unsure if I should even entertain that step of things by making something I'm fanatical about my everyday job. But isn't that what people do? Find something they're passionate about and then become a part of it for their everyday life? That's the kind of vibe I got when you talked about sharing your love of Potter in your everyday job with people who go there specifically for that.

Thank you for a little bit of insight into working at universal, I have an interview coming up for custodial work and even though its not a guarantee I'm getting the job I just wanted to make sure I was completely prepared.
It’s the same in Orlando plus the benefits packages has deteriorated to the point that people I work have decided not to either go or have a procedure done because of the coverages. My hours went from 40 to 18 in a flash. Was told that’s the theme park biz. I finally left after 12 years. That are all talk when it comes to the behind scenes of treating there employees with grace.

It depends on which wand you want, the regular or interactive. I bought two interactive wands at Universal Studios Florida & they were about $51-52 each, can't remember which. I bought them in 2016. When we went in May of this year, they allowed my son & kid brother to exchange them for without the original receipt because we had the original boxes and maps with us.

This was so interesting to hear! I wish i'd seen this earlier as I have some questions. I'm actually heading over to work at Universal Studios in Beijing, China this year in the Wizarding World. I'm going to be a Beauxbaton dancer in the Tri Wizard Tournament! I have heard such great things about the company and because we are "performers" we are offered onsite accomodation (for free) as well as housing facilities like a cafeteria and gym. Is this available to those who work in the park simply as sales people or ushers who stand around in the park. What happens for international employees who come to Hollywood or Florida? Do they have to find their own living space and come to the park each day?

Nope they hire even if you have no experience :) You just need to be 18+ and have no tattoos, dyed hair, or piercings.
