    Most of the time. We won’t remember the scores of a game from 20 years ago, but we will remember the rare magic moments these great players gave us. Goosebumps. It’s a pleasure to enjoy this game alongside all of you.

    That's such an important point. When u look back do u remember the score of the game or do u remember the moments where u were surprised by something a player did out of the ordinary. That's why berba is magical

    Beautiful answer by Berba

  • @galazore
    @galazore 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

    Likely the best first touch of any player to ever grace the pitch. I remember a section of United fans slating him for being "lazy" because he didn't run around like a psycho like Rooney. He didn't have to. Berba was fucking magic.
    My guess is that touch is so much better and elicited such a sign because of the sloppy ass, falling over, cross that preceded it. It went from ugly utilitarian to the beautiful game in one move.

    • @gershomtan5879
      @gershomtan5879 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Berba only ran when he had to, his positioning and timing was incredible. He looked like he was strolling around, but he was always at the right place at the right time to score beautiful goals. I've just come to the conclusion that English fans are just a bit mental. A striker should not have to run around like a dog tracking back, all his energy should be dedicated to scoring goals. As a United fan I always loved Berba, he was a touch of class in a team already full of grafters. His hatty at old Trafford against the scousers was one of if not the greatest performance ever by a United player against Liverpool. Fk work rate, that man was touched by the football gods.

  • @wanmanrmy
    @wanmanrmy 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    The reason it’s special is that it’s so amazingly hard to pull off that level of control from a long ball and Berbatov did it casually like it was nothing. Most players could do it with a lot of attempts (and not do it as easily) and likely wouldn’t try it in a game because of that.

    Honestly, that absolute dead stop touch is really freaking hard. I don't mean it's hard to control a cross with the first touch, but Even HIGH level international players can't dead trap a cross without a little bounce.
    It really must be perfectly timed. The only other person I can clearly remember doing that in game is Ronaldinho. It's a beautiful thing for sure.
    ***EDIT: I don't mean that players "can't" do it in the of their abilities... But under pressure, marked by a defender and on the attack, usually trapping a ball and stopping pace is a no no. Most players DON'T do it.
