39, a Rangers fan and you've only seen Larsson as a world class player? I'm a Celtic fan and I'm calling bullshit. Laudrup, and Gascoigne are two names that jump out from Ibrox alone in your life-time. There's been loads of world class players in our league. If you consider the actual phrasing anybody who's represented their country at a world cup is world class. Some better than others, but lots have been in Scottish football.

@@brianbru gazza and laudrup were outstanding for rangers and gave me such good childhood memories. Gazza was miles past his best and Brian laudrup was never world class. Larsson at his peak was world class imo and the only player in my lifetime in the Scottish top flight that was world class. He had it all and a real team player as well. He would’ve won more here as well if my club didn’t cheat financially

Good stuff, but you left out his achievements for the Swedish national team. He was part of the Swedish team that came third in the 1994 World Cup, and was a vital component of the side two decades, even coming out of international retirement to play one final tournament at the end of his 30s. Oh, and he scored the goal of the tournament at the 2004 Euros(that beautiful diving header).

@@chrisv384 He also came on as a substitute in the group game against Cameroon and hit the crossbar with a shot from distance, and Dahlin scored on the rebound, making it 2-2 instead of 1-2 in the opening game. The psychological impact of that cannot be overstated, since Sweden went out of the 1990 World Cup with three straight 1-2 losses...
I'm not saying he was an integral part of the 1994 World Cup squad, I merely mentioned it to explain just how long his international career was; he was there from that tournament all the way to the 2008 Euros.

So true. I remember a game when Henrik was on a hat-trick and he rounded the keeper, had an empty goal before him, and instead of scoring he squared it to Harald Brattbakk for a tap in. He basically gave up a hattrick and gave his team-mate a goal because he was having a hard time scoring and was under pressure and needed it more than him. I just haven't something like that since.

Being an old Swede and having followed Henrik from his beginning days in the national team as well I can genuinely and safely say that he was indeed a phenomenon. Had he played from the beginning in Barcelona for example I'm rather sure he'd be bigger than Raul in Real for instance. Henrik's playing style was exceptional in the way that he also always made his teammates better. He also never complained and just focused on the game. We'll never know how good he was in the end, but he was most likely going to win more CL and other big trophies had he played for other teams than Sweden and Celtic during his prime.

Watched him play for United at 35 years old, I think, and he was sheer class even then. A true baller who could play anywhere across the front, and all without "pace". Deadly finishing and heading, two footed, high workrate and ice cold composure. A dream in this day and age.

As a Swede, I think one thing is missing from this analysis: his performance as part of the Swedeish squad during the 1994 world cup. He started many games on the bench, but whenever he came on, he lifted the team. He played, I think, a really important role in one of the best national squads that Sweden has ever put together and Sweden came away with a well deserved third place in the tournament. In my eyes, though there were a lot of really good efforts by the whole team and several players putting in fantastic performances, I think Larsson was more important than he might be given credit for. Besides being a dangerous striker, he really has that ability to be the glue in a teams offence. He showed this already being at the start of his international career. Truely one of the best players to come out of Sweden.

Henry was completely right. I remember watching the game. When they switched in Larsson, I knew that Barcelona would win. Supposed to be a bit of an ass though. I'm a swede from the same region as him. Same as Zlatan too. So you hear rumours... Zlatan is arrogant but not an ass.

What kind of an ass? Like, do you have examples of it? He was quiet at Celtic but never had a reputation for having an attitude.

@@francismckenzie6095 I was only commenting on the video which states he scored an own goal on his "league debut" but, as you rightly say he gave the ball away and Chic Charley scored an absolute belter!

These description the guy voices during the video really feels like AI produced. There are many repeating stuff, no depth, and it feels like just boring video.
I’m a swede and thing Henke is one of the greats in football but this video is so mediocre.
