I thought I knew why but now I don't know lol Also, goodness the ui looks so nice, so many little animated parts from the birthday, deity, even the map opening up is so nice to look at. and that metal on the PLD armor, so shiny! I feel it looks better than our retail version DX Cure will auto heal the lowest when used/not targeting anyone... oh im gonna faint... so many nice changes in this version. like the pld sentinel giving the shield effect after, it combines two buttons into a unique skill, goodness im actually looking forward to this version. oh the training dummy seems to act as a enemy and a ally? so you can actually practice without needing another person.
WAR has more going on in the level 1-50 range cause of gauge management in retail. PLD literally only has their 1-2-3. Hard to say how it'll be Mobile.
For me it's a shame that they didn't make the character creator different. Since this beta they could have experimented with new ideas seeing what people like and add them base game
At first I thought this would be a "relive greatest battles" thing, like Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes type games where you control a team of characters going from battle to battle, but this looks like it may be a proper mobile port of an MMO. Now I'm actually interested. I'd be MORE interested if it somehow shared space with the existing MMO (e.g. people shared cities/zones between the two), but I just don't see that as possible given the differences. It''d be cool if that WAS doable, but I don't see that as likely for a few more tech generations yet.
My big question now is how will this function on the folding phones? I own a OnePlus Open and I some games don't really optimize for the funky resolution. I would have to dig up one of my old phones if it doesn't workout.
I liked it a lot, the only thing is that it's difficult to get a good look at the character when they're moving around so much, so I wish there was more camera options!
Probably helps that the mobile version is probs being developed in unreal (4?), rather than square's own proprietary engine. (Or atleast it looks it, going off of how the fx and ui look idk really)
I know it's in vogue to mock SMN a lot...but you might consider toning it down a BIT. Or at least knowing the Job abilities. XD The "AOE barrier" is Searing Light, SMN's party buff that it brings to the table and has since...ShB, I think (though then it was called Devotion for Bahamut lore). I know you raider types like mocking "braindead" Jobs, but most everything has some nuance to it. There are reasons people like them other than just "being lazy" etc. Knowing the Jobs may lead to greater appreciation. : ) Anyway, this looks cool, might follow it more now...
This games animations capture the “impact” of the hits so well. Move some of that into actual 14. Specifically the monk section.

It's a different team. The main retail team are unlikely to implement anything into the main game from this.
@undvined I'm sure they could have asked or if SQ had some ideas of their own they want to try this would be been perfect time to do so
