Black Ops 1 has always been my favorite menu for a Call of Duty game. Just so much you can do in just one menu, and the fact you can get out of the chair was jaw dropping to little me back then

@@cheezed6897 I don’t know the answer, or if they were even telling Mason the truth, but that’s who they were talking about. And it’s something you won’t know till after the game is over.
The reason why Black Ops 1 was one of the best stories in a whole video game industry is because it straight up captures the events of real world adding some "covert up operations" that straight up could have happened. 1. VIETNAM - Soldiers' animosity towards CIA agents (Hudson...) was a real thing. The brutality and gore made sense, because it was a very brutal war (guerilla war was brutal) 2. Kravchenko killing his own men - true ww2 fact. Stalin ordered death of a lot Russian Soldiers who made it to Berlin, because they saw the standard of living in Germany 3. Sleeper agents - most of the CIA documents of MKUltra has been burnt. Which means - all this could have happened. 4. Fiedel Castro has survived over 600 attacks on his life. Getting out of the one in game alive is just one of the ways it happened. 5. Vorkuta - such brutal places where war prisoners were forced to work really existed 6. Cold-War - yeah... Russians were supporting North Vietnam. Russian and American soldiers were killing each other on the lands that did not belong to them. 7. John Fitzgerald Kennedy - and the ttheory of the second shooter - you know exactly what was seen on the last clip after finishing the game. 8. Covert up Operations in Russia - not sure, but totally could have happened (Cold War) And of course... the way the game led the story. At the beginning we have no idea, but instead of weakly exposing the story meaning it wanted players to think. To have these moments when from "The hell am I doing in Cuba?" to "I begin to understand why Woods doesn't say anything about Reznov". The game shows different perspectives and show how one singl event can lead to completely difficult to understand scenario, which can lead to fatal endgame. It doesn't explain the story. It shows the events. And it wants you to gather all the pieces together. Goddamn masterpiece. As I write it I believe even more that this right there is the best story ANY media has ever portrayed.
