this song deserves to be played much more powerfully than this. the chorus gets pretty loud. it’s not a calming song like this piano cover, it’s meant to give you goosebumps because of how passionate it is.
I think its gentle in some parts in a way that when the chorus plays in that passionate way it just makes it that much better. Not sure if i said this right but i tried XD
Here are the lyrics: My feet are aching And your back is pretty tired And we've drunk a couple bottles, babe And set our grief aside The papers say it's doomsday The button has been pressed We're gonna nuke each other up boys 'Til old Satan stands impressed And here it is, our final night alive As the earth burns to the ground Oh boy, it's you that I lie with As the atom bomb locks in Oh boy, it's you I watch TV with As the world, as the world caves in You've put your final suit on I paint my fingernails Oh, we're going out in style, babe And everything's on sale We creep up on extinction I pull your arms right in I weep and say goodnight, love While my organs pack it in And here it is, our final night alive And as the earth burns to the ground Oh boy, it's you that I lie with As the atom bomb locks in Oh boy, it's you I watch TV with As the world, as the world caves in
This was great! The only thing I could comment on is often times you’d play the wrong chord, in the first chorus the chord progression is meant to sound like Gmin,Gbaug,Bb/F,Ebm7b5,Ebmin7. But instead you played Dm/G,Gmmaj7,Adim,Gbauj,D,Gmin,Bb,Eb7+11,Ebm9. Personally for me it could sound good, I just think the way the function of the chords the way they are used here don’t align with the original song and in my opinion the Adim is really dissonant. Also the Eb dominant 7 chord is not meant to have any extensions, it’s the Eb min 7 which has the 9 and 11, even then it’s hard to make it not sound dissonant on a piano since in the real song those pitches are played in separate instruments which helps alleviate a lot of the dissonance. And in my opinion the function of the Dm chord in the have used it, I assume you used Dm because D,F and A are the 7,9,11 of G respectively, but using Dm makes the D sound like the predominant tone, when G is meant to be the predominant tone which begins to descend, but here it sounds like the D is immobile in the peice. That’s my 2 cents
Hey its been a long time uve been commenting to this. But ive rlly felt some discomfort listening to this version it somehow really hits my uncanny valley. Ur describtion is very good and im impressed by ur understanding of music theory. I can do it on piano by listening to the song. But i couldnt pack it into words like you
Hey fellow pianist, I noticed that fairly consistently F# which didn’t really fit. It’s quite dissonant and it sticks out way too much, double check the key of the song + the chord progression.
All the sheet music of the song I’ve read has included those F#s. Pretty sure the dissonance helps create the tension that the song brings but also I could be wrong.

Could you do this same song but have one where the individual keys light up too. It’s difficult to follow with the whole board lighting up🥺
