    This video is by far the best I’ve seen on these smart trolling motors - thanks for taking the time to absolutely nail it! And for showing us the best place to keep the remote - I don’t like heavy lumps round your neck on a lanyard so I think I’ll follow your example. Apparently they have tried this before and over time it burns out the circuit board in the Minn Kota motor. They are qualified marine and auto electricians here in New Zealand, would the Mark2 system you referred to fix this issue?

    Why do you use MK 2dc alternator to charge trolling Batteries and not conect it to Starter bateries directly making a Batteries bank. What is the difference?

    • @LostAngler
      @LostAngler  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So this boat has a two battery system for the cranking and accessories. This is a separate system all together. We didn't want to run the risk of allowing the trolling motor to run down the cranking and accessories battery as it can be used to crank the outboard as well. So a bit of redundancy for additional safety

    When deploying the unit, how do I make sure it's locked in so it will operate correctly? Do I just turn it until it clicks into place? Also, what keeps the TM from moving up and down in the sleeve when you're in really rough waters? Thanks.

    • @LostAngler
      @LostAngler  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will seat itself when in use but you can turn it manually into position too. Also when that motor is deployed it's moving with the boat and the lower unit is so much heavier than the head unit, it will never lift up like your asking about. Plus when it is in use the pressure from the unit makes it so that you can't move it up without turning it off.

    @scotthgmail6593 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I know everyone says it's no problem to fish by yourself with the remote, but that realistically can't be, you are forever taking a hand away from fishing to make adjustments. The foot pedal appears to be the answer, it's easy and you never have to drop a hand. Both hands fishing, WHILE making adjustments as often as you wish. Why do more people not use it? Extra cost? Unaware? Maybe I'm missing the simplicity of this

    • @LostAngler
