I can not wait for the kitchen/great room combo to die. It's so tacky to walk into a multi million dollar home and be smacked in the face with a kitchen/living combo. Stop it builders and architects, seriously. A great room should be formal to receive guests into. I love a kitchen/family room or kitchen/keeping room combo that is tucked away from the formal great room. I love a scullery as well, but having a scullery doesn't elevate a kitchen to a "formal kitchen," or "show kitchen."
Thanks for you feedback! Most of our clients really love the open space for the social element. In our opinion, the kitchen absolutely has to double as a social space as to not isolate the users. But once again, thank you for the comment!
