It turned red after introducing Asuka. That's one of my favorite little subtle details I've seen in a show. Really makes you appreciate how much heart and soul Aono put into Evangelion.

I think it was made to make enough place for all credits, or maybe they just wanted song to be longer :D whatever it is, thanks to it we have this perfect part between second and third verse Second change is much smaller, but more important than first one. In original they sing "In other words, baby, kiss me" and here it is "In other words, darling, kiss me". It is because original was in male voice, and NGE version have female one (or ones, there is much more than one version)
NGE hits you differently when you actually went through or are going through the same emotional problems as Shinji, believe me! Eva manages to be beautiful and melancholy mixing classic things and contrasting between bittersweet feelings and existentialist issues. It takes you from contemporary complexity to the primal needs of the human being, and that can't be passed so well unless someone knows what mental despair feels like for those who don't believe they're worthy of existing. I mean I understand Anno, and I understand Shinji. That's why Evangelion is my favorite Japanese work, Hideaki was as honest about it as no other.
I don't get the fans who trash on Shinji. Kid was in a dark place already before he got peer pressured into piloting, so why should he be happier than he was before? I'm content with how they kept Shinji a sulking mess till the end because there was really nothing for him to hold onto. Was so deprived that he obsessed over the smallest bit of praise from anyone.

Agreed, i havent experience anything similar like that (maybe I have but I didn't realize, dunno) but somehow the anime felt so relatable and it made me contemplate about life for almost 1 hour, while I just lay on the floor staring at the ceiling. My heart was so confused, should I cry or not? eventually i fell asleep. that was yesterday, now i still feel the same. YES! This was literally how I felt when I watched Eva like every time I see Shinji in misery I would start having meltdowns throughout the series because I relate to him so much and understand his problems so it did pain me too (except the hospital part in EoE) that’s why Evangelion has always been my all time favourite anime because of how complex it was and how uncanny everything is and also how I could relate to so many things in the series. I wished the eva didn’t end after the rebuilds but all good things have to come to an end. Evangelion has a very special place in my heart…

It was the kind of anime that would feel mid whilst watching it sometimes, but when you finish it you can't forget it either. It weirdly grows in you, as you remember the stuff and try to make out what it was trying to say.

I remember once I was at a friends house it was around 3 am and our 2 other friends fell asleep in the living room so me and my friend went to his room he turned on Evangelion on his tv and watched the first episode then during the second episode he fell asleep and I vividly remember I’m siting on a desk chair in the middle of his room he’s on his bed sleeping the second episode finishes and this song stats playing I’ve never felt more bliss then I did in that dark room wish I could go back to that moment.

Agreed, i havent experience anything similar like that (maybe I have but I didn't realize, dunno) but somehow the anime felt so relatable and it made me contemplate about life for almost 1 hour, while I just lay on the floor staring at the ceiling. My heart was so confused, should I cry or not? eventually i fell asleep.

YES! This was literally how I felt when I watched Eva like every time I see Shinji in misery I would start having meltdowns throughout the series because I relate to him so much and understand his problems so it did pain me too (except the hospital part in EoE) that’s why Evangelion has always been my all time favourite anime because of how complex it was and how uncanny everything is and also how I could relate to so many things in the series. I wished the eva didn’t end after the rebuilds but all good things have to come to an end. Evangelion has a very special place in my heart…

NGE, for me, will always have the most soulful and sentimental rendition of *Fly Me To The Moon* for all-time.
It was the kind of anime that would feel mid whilst watching it sometimes, but when you finish it you can't forget it either. It weirdly grows in you, as you remember the stuff and try to make out what it was trying to say.

I remember once I was at a friends house it was around 3 am and our 2 other friends fell asleep in the living room so me and my friend went to his room he turned on Evangelion on his tv and watched the first episode then during the second episode he fell asleep and I vividly remember I’m siting on a desk chair in the middle of his room he’s on his bed sleeping the second episode finishes and this song stats playing I’ve never felt more bliss then I did in that dark room wish I could go back to that moment.
