They are a longer shanked hook than most of the other "euro" style jig hooks. Just watch your proportions or drop a size. I haven't had one bend on me.
That hook looks to be a LOT bigger than any size 14 hooks I've ever seen. I thought it was like size 8 or 10 at minimum just compared to the vice jaws, the fly-tyers fingers and lead wire. Ofc it works in larger size too.
How have I never heard of this Chanel? This guy is great!
Great tie! Going to try one now
i like this version. nice and messy. this will fish well.
Nicely done, nice back ground music as well. Would like to see less vise and closer views of the fly.
Thanks for watching! We’ll get to work on getting some better close-up shots on future videos.
I dig it!
Love that pattern. How do you like that Umpqua hook for quality. I'm looking to add some barbed jigs for a few clients who don't like barbless. Cheers
Been a fan, definitely worth trying out if you’re looking for a jig with a barb still on it!

The sizing on the 555 is skewed much larger than standard in our experience... 1-2 hook sizes different that what we’d usually expect.
Hook size is manifested more by gape then shank length
