I've been tying and fishing this for several years and it is absolutely a winner. I rarely fish a conventional tional PT anymore. This almost always finds it way onto my multi-fly nymph rings. One of the flies is almost always one of these. I do, however, fish it mostly in the smaller sizes.

Beautifully done, as always. Love the resin/thread trick at the end! One thing that I was surprised to see was that you discarded the remaining tailing PT. I would have used that for the body. Any reason not to? Thanks as always. 🎣

Since this will ride hook point up, shouldn't the wing case be on the bottom?

I completely agree. I’m simply tying this as the standard version with the wing case on top of the shank, but anything designed by me it would have it on the bottom.

@@CharliesFlyBox also, @6:20 when you offset the flashback towards you, you then wrapped the wire winding it towards you when it goes over the fly. This in essence is offsetting the flashback even more! I think you wanted to offset it away from you so that the wire wraps moves it towards you, setting it dead center. In fact at 8:39, when you show the top of the fly, the flashback is totally offset, proving my point.

Not that I’m an authority, but I’ve read (Troutbitten) that most nymphs - jigs included - roll in current, so your drift continues to be dynamic in nature as it tumbles through your current seams.
