First off, all your videos are beyond great and very informative. I'm doing a 6 Speed swap on my ZRX and got a question. How do you manage to remove the collars with damage? I'm at my wits end here. I get why you said they are a nightmare to remove. Happy New Year!
Thanks for the question.. You need US Pro 33mm Pitman two arm gear Puller www.dsdtools.co.uk/product/us-pro-33mm-pitman-arm-puller-5139/ You grind two slots at 180° to each other on the ZZR collar for the "feet" of the gear puller to snuggly Locate into and you draw itself collar off using a brass "push pad" machined and located into the central hole in the output shaft.. It is EXTREMELY tight to remove...,so you need to grind your location slots accurately..,centrally and squarely.. Also advisable to squirt some penetrating oil down around the collar and let it soak for at least 24 hours prior to trying to remove.. Perhaps I'll post up a video of this whole process operation as I have been asked this question a few times.. BG.
Yeah...,a bit of a pain to remove..,which involves a gear puller and a grinder... I covered it twice on both my engine threads on the ZRXOA forum No point in giving you the link since you'd need to be a member to access them.. Maybe an Idea for another Video upload here on my Channel..? BG
Yes you need the ZZR shift drum so it is compatible with the ZZR 6 speed box Only the ZZR~ZRX 'shift forks' are interchangeable...(you can use these from either bike) BG.
Yes it also fits a ZRX 1100 motor....,however you still must swap out the output shaft spacer on the ZZR 1100D/ZZR 1200 six speed transmission for a ZRX one. BG
Yes it will (different front sprocket though required for chain alignment..) Check out my other video here....th-cam.com/video/zda47H7jBO0/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared BG.
Yes it will Andrew...,however once again the output shaft spacer from that will have to be changed (just like with this 1100D).. Check out my other video regarding other 6 speed gear box compatability here... th-cam.com/video/zda47H7jBO0/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared Hope this helps BG.
Yes you can..,but you will also have to fit the ZRX drum as well....(the shift forks are the same though ZZR~ZRX) however you will now have a ZZR 12 with 5 gears and not six.... Oh and you also will have to change the output shaft spacer from the ZRX box to a ZZR 1200 spacer to get correct chain alignment since the ZRX output shaft spacer is around 5mm shorter... BG.
Thank you, your video is very informative

First off, thank you for these great videos. My question is, how did you remove the collar off the zzr transmission to swap it out for the zrx?

@@brianwells5258 I’m going to assume you wrap the claws around the gear that’s up against the collar?
No..., you grind two slots in the collar you want to remove @180° to each other for the claws to Locate into...

I have 5 speed gear in my zzr1100d probably from zrx, is the top speed same now?
Yes...,1st and 5th of the ZRX five speed transmission is the same as 1st and 6th of the ZZR transmission..

Does it fits to the 1100 engine?

Would the zx11 C also fit?

I may have missed it, but would a ZZR1200 transmission fit the ZRX1200R?
