what has to be done to fit the zzr1200 6 speed in? I would like to do it to my own bike in the future
@ 3.40..... BG
Very interesting demonstration, Brian. Your new parts washer will definitely prove to be a very worthwhile addition to your workshop 🙂👍
Absolutely..! Thank you Edmund...,I wanted one of these for a long time and also had in mind the modifications I've outlined in this video series to Taylor it to my needs. Was a great Christmas present and a worthwhile project to spend some time over my Christmas break on.. ...as Allen Milyard says., I wanted it .."Jussst Perfect". 😅 God bless BG.
I dream of parts washers ❤
6 speed gearbox would be interesting.

Very nice.. congratulation From Italy..i want to bay..It Is possible?
Sorry, no.,its not possible.,these are "one off" unique pieces for my own bikes... God bless BG.
you may wish to relocate the fire extinguisher. If you get a fire in the washer you may not get to it where it currently is.
..,its right there at my right hand.... Take another look..... BG.
@@brianwells5258 totally get that and love the videos. The point I was making is you normally want to step away from the fire grab the extinguisher then knock the fire down to save your kit and maintain the exit. Bit like putting a fire blanket over a cooker which you cant reach when a pan is on fire lol. Your garage and your choice but love your work
Thanks for your interest....,not planning on a fire..,but If it happens I can immediately close the lid. No oxygen...,the fire is snuffed out. Fire extinguisher is right at my Immediate right hand..,as is the door. Anyway.,great to have to tuning in and following along. Much appreciated. Have a great 2025..! 👍 BG.
Great demonstration of some very useful modifications, thanks Brian 😊👍
Glad you enjoyed it Edmund 👍 Stay tuned for the next one to conclude. God bless BG.
I'm not sure I would have thought of all those myself... genius!
The tilted lid and its support are a safety feature. If you use the parts washer with solvents (like kerosene) to wash the parts and it catches fire, stand will melt (some parts of it) and the lid will fall down, closing the washer and, hopefully, stopping the fire. So, take this into account when modifying the washer.
Thank you for your comment and observations...,however I am aware of what you mentioned. Infact if you watch the previous video I do point out and highlight these very points myself..(check it out...) Needless to say the modifications I have opted to carry out on my parts washer., and share here on my chanel are My own and no one is obliged to copy any of them.. Be well... 👍 BG.
is that Ray McCullough in the photo in the background.
No, it's Mick Grant...
ddont think u said why you were changing the cams and what they would do for the bike.
All part of the engine upgrade..,ZZR 1100D six speed Gear box..,ZZR 1200 pistons and rings., since they are higher compression than the stock ZRX 1200 ones..,and the ZZR 1200 cams to accompany the pistons for a power increase especially abover 6k (higher lobes.,longer duration etc.) Tried and proven mods that Work..! Thanks for tuning in BG.
@@brianwells5258 Oh i see ill need to look up the rest, cheers
Really enjoying this series. Thanks for sharing "The Life of Brian" with us! Happy New Year 🇨🇦🥳
Same to you! I'm glad you are enjoying the series.,stay tuned.,plenty more to come.. God bless BG.
You just doubled the value of that parts washer, mate. Happy New Year!
Making it tailored for my needs. Plenty more to come.! Stay tuned. God bless BG.
I learned recently to mount the fire extinguisher slightly to the side of the fire zone. This way I can reach it if things catch on fire. Otherwise, I'd have to reach through the flames to get to the extinguisher. Hope that helps. Love your videos, mate.
Absolutely right !....,all repositioned today.. The fire extinguisher had been in the position shown historically...,however for reasons you have pointed out.,I knew it couldn't stay there..,so it Had to me moved. 👍
Great addition to your workshop, Brian. Very nice bit of kit 😊👍
Brilliant! I'm excited for you. Been thinking about one myself, so I'm looking forward to your thoughts / mods as you use it!
When you mounted the speedo drive to the sprocket on the zrx what speedo drive and cable did you use ? Happy new year from Sweden
What kind of speedo drive and cable do you use ?
Superb work. I've fitted tons of carbs and throttle cables never get easy! I ride a ZG1000 and now I want stick coils so I can remove the stock coils that tend to block access to the valve cover and thermostat.
Beautiful work on a brilliant conversion. This video should be helpful to anyone working on these parts, from the oil pump, outwards on most Kawasaki, inline four models from the mid-1980's, up to about the early 2000's.
GTR/Concours guy here -- This information is 100% spot on.
Merry Christmas Brian! And a Happy and Prosperous New Year to you and your family!
Happy Christmas Brian 😃
Happy Christmas 🥳
Great to see you working on your next project, Brian 😊. It’s always a pleasure watching your videos, and may I take this opportunity to wish you and yours a happy Christmas 🎄 and a wonderful new year 😊👍🏴
Thank you so much Edmund...,yes it has been hectic at work lately (I am the building supervisor in a local primary school). And as always there is never a free moment....,Especially in the weeks leading up to Christmas..!! Anyway.,I am so thankful to actually be off now for my break where (hopefully) I can actually get something done for myself..😊 Once again.,thank you for all your support and very kind comments and may I also wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas.,with every blessing for the new year. God bless BG.
Yes of course you could "tie down" the rear brake which would help...(and also some would sit on the bike while on the ground with the brake pedal pressed while another attempted to loosen that nut) Easy enough though with a length of "soft wood" through the wheel and clamped down as shown.. Just need one of those Torque Multipliers...(a massive powered rattle gun...,or a 4' breaker bar..!) That nut is Tiiiiiggghtt😅..!!!
Thank you so much Ken..! So glad to finally have a little time to resume tinkering with this bike. Have a Wonderful Christmas !(No "Happy Holidays" here..!) And may God bless you and all your family now and throughout 2025. BG.
Just a thought - have you considered engaging the rear brake to hold the rear wheel while loosening the rear axle nut? Something I've done in the past. Works for front sprocket nuts as well. Cheers 🍻
Enjoyed the vid, Brian! HAPPY Christmas from Canada, sir! Or as we like to say, Merry Christmas! 🎄🇨🇦
You are a lifesaver my friend. I have been searching for a low profile oil pan setup for my zrx1200 drag bike all over the internet. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Glad I could help .,there are a few other videos on my chanel referencing this Check through them for some more information.. I have done this mod on both my 2001 and 2005 ZRX's God bless BG. May I wish you every success with your project..
Love the individual work like the ti knurled knobs and whatnot, makes it special..
Thank you...,much appreciated. 👍 BG.

Hi Brian, Ive got an 01 in the shed which im rebuilding. Ive got a few questions about where you get your parts. Do you buy online? Im located in Australia and parts arent that easy to find. Thanks, Rob
Hi Rob...,yes since these 1200 bikes are now 20+ years old...(1100's even older) parts are getting increasingly harder to buy......,however a good source is here online..www.cmsnl.com/ It's in the Netherlands and a great resource for restoring older motorcycles. BG.
Hi indicators you say Zx9r rears, is that for the fronts too, and genuine or eBay model specific copy's, thanks I'm a new owner and trying to replace 18yrs of tacky mods.
I have a 2001 In a complete original condition in blue I wouldn't mess about changing it! It's currently at 6000 miles.
Absolutely stunning. My Inazuma needs TLC. Petcock is dripping petrol and it stinks. Was looking for a repair kit. There are so many out there but not sure which one to buy. Afraid I'd buy a wrong one. Can I kindly ask for your advice? I started riding this year and Inazuma is my first bike, absolutely love its retro look. Was good to see you tune yours up. Well done for going through till the end.
3:45 fully agree on the parts! 5:16 oh dear! I shall reconsider changing the filters then.
Amazing rebuild! Pls let me now about the suspensions and brakes. Thank you! Those wheels look so expensive! EDIT: Ah GSX1400 rear shocks and ZRX front. Got it, thank you so much for the detailed video!. :)
Thanks for sharing! Just a quick off-topic question: I have USDT in my OKX wallet and I have the recovery phrase. 「pride」-「pole」-「obtain」-「together」-「second」-「when」-「future」-「mask」-「review」-「nature」-「potato」-「bulb」. What is the best way to transfer them to Binance?
High quality video content! I have another question: someone transferred me some usdt and I have recovery phrases. 「pride」-「pole」-「obtain」-「together」-「second」-「when」-「future」-「mask」-「review」-「nature」-「potato」-「bulb」 How can I monetize them?
The video content is very interesting! I am a little confused: someone sent me a usdt and I have the recovery phrase. 《pride》-《pole》-《obtain》-《together》-《second》-《when》-《future》-《mask》-《review》-《nature》-《potato》-《bulb》 How do I extract them?
I am tired and don't want to touch it anymore. I still have 89USD in OKX wallet but I am too lazy to withdraw it. Here is the mnemonic of OKX wallet (<pride>-<pole>-<obtain>-<together>-<second>-<when>-<future>-<mask>-<review>-<nature>-<potato>-<bulb>, for all the friends who are lucky enough to get it.
The video is very interesting! Something I don't understand: I have USDT in my OKX wallet and I have the recovery phrase. 『pride』-『pole』-『obtain』-『together』-『second』-『when』-『future』-『mask』-『review』-『nature』-『potato』-『bulb』: How should I convert them into Bitcoin?
hei grate video .wher is the ecu-cdi box on this bike i have ordret the same tuning box
Hi Thank you...,the ECU for this bike is located on the "front" of the "battery box" (underneath the underseat storage box.) BG.
under the tank?
Another great video. I am waiting for this one to turn into another show ready "daily ride"! It will keep me in spired as, my ZRX 1100 is in bits too. carb rebuild, the petcock failed and dumped the entire tank into the airbox and filled the crank case breather, then a misfire developed, carbs were a mess so well over due!
Brian you make a very good point here, Yes the manual is wrong. I have a 2007 ZRX1200R and my damper is different, the plastic bush that seats in the bottom of the tube has a small weak spring between the bush and the damper that I think keeps the bush seated in the base. Again I'm thinking the chrome main tube in normal operation would be above that bottom plastic tube forced up by the main spring. The chrome main tube would only enter that palstic bush only if you where close to bottoming out Had me scrching my head for while
When i modify a tension-er i also cut the tip of the chain guide at an angle, so it can't catch the clutch basket. The original kawa tension-er design it pretty bad. And they used it for more than 20 years. Again a very good video.👍
i would advice to change the friction plates anyway. The plates don't cost much, and while you have the clutch apart just put new ones in. You will feel the difference. Very good video👍
Thanks...,glad you enjoyed it... BG.
