- I was Stranded in Dubai International Airport after missing my connecting flight to Manchester England. My Emirates Air bus A380-800 EK 377 was late landing because of air traffic control issues. So now, i was stuck in Dubai

I love that you’ve been delayed by 7 hours but still have a smile and just get on with it. As you say in your video, “it is what it is”.

Never got the bus at Dubai , I always get the train if I land at terminal C and connecting flights at terminal A , missed a flight back in may cause there was 2 flights going to Bangkok around the same time 🙈 my own fault though as I should have checked the flight number , so ended up having to have a night in Bangkok as missed my connecting flight down to Hat Yai too , lessons learned that’s for sure ! It’s not the worst airport to spend a bit of time in though , and luckily there’s plenty of smoking rooms too 👍🏻, hope you had a great time and was great to see your videos with you back in the land of smiles mate 🎉🎉

Good afternoon Geoff. Absolutely Loved this movie. It is like we are there with you. Dubai Airport was really Ultra modern and geared for the Trans Atlantic Traveller, like yourself Geoff. I really enjoyed following you mooching through the Huge Airport. You have got that Personal touch, when you Narrate your movies. You have this ability to turn a Negative into a Positive. This was a Pure Joy to watch your Thailand Adventure and then your Amasing Journey home with the Emirates Airline Company. Your meal on the plane looked absolutely Delicious. You did very Well Geoff, travelling over 28 Hours. You have got such Great Stamina and really Good Determination to carry on and Keep Smiling. This was a real Privilage Geoff to come and join you on your Epic Thailand Adventure and Journey. Hope you arrive back home, safely and have nice Mug of Tea and Treat yourself to a Full English Breakfast. Take yourself to bed and Crash out for a few hours. Geoff, don’t forget to claim your delayed flight compensation. So many people don’t bother and airlines very rarely tell you you are entitled after a certain time delay (I think it starts after 3 hours delay so a 7 hour delay should definitely give you a tidy payout). Good luck with it, it will help your next trip funds 😁
The flight was less than an hour late, so no compensation.
If it was related to air traffic control; Emirates still wouldn't be responsible - it's out of their control.
We got refunded over £1000 from Lufthansa after they made us miss the connecting flight. We stayed overnight in a hotel in Germany which Lufthansa paid for then we got compensation. The refund we got was more than we originally paid for the flights. Was well pleased.😊

Deylayed in Benidorm 5 hours got £675 compensation 2 people Payed £650 each for 2 weeks all inclusive in 2019 3:49
You need to go to the desk and ask for your 500 dollars compensation
That was a quick stay in Thailand mate. Get home safely and get loads of rest. I noticed from your recent vlogs in Pattaya that you weren't yourself. Get some rest, Geoff.
That free meal was ridiculous as compensation for a delay. Ridiculous.

I had a 26hr layover there during covid. Luckily I had lounge access and could sleep there. Beer was free. Keep smiling.
Brilliant vjdeo Geoff, loved it, first time i went to TH was in 2009 and i spent 9 hours in dubai comming back, never again, only direct flights since, lhr/bkk with thai or eva,. dubai is a magnificent airport, dont recall it being that big in 2009, your looking well after your break , i'm surprised you didn't stay longer ?,. I retired in nov 22 and had 7 months in TH (222) days, brilliant ,.anyways welcome back to "doom & gloom" uk, i cant wait to get back out to TH for christmas hopefully on a 15 month retirement o visa,. going to the miss the TH videos ,keep smiling bebeep.

I had exactly the same experience in May when I flew home from bangkok to Manchester with Qatar airways. My flight from bangkok was delayed by 3 hours which meant I missed my connection and I had to spend 7 hours in doha airport. I got talking to a bloke at Bangkok Airport who told me doha was a dry airport and I wouldn't be able to get a drink. The bloke was wrong! There is a bar in doha that sells beer all day and night!
Keep smiling Geoff. When you get back to England you'll soon be wishing you were back in Dubai. It's still cold, damp and everyone moaning about the same old things.

I've lived in Dubai since 2005, get yourself out of the airport! There's places like Pattaya if you know where to look - Bur Dubai, Panorama Hotel, Jockeys bar, or the bar in CityMax (also Bur Dubai). ST is $100 though.

That's confirmed it. I'm sticking with business class. The lounge is fantastic so if there's a delay I'll get pleasantly pissed at their expense.

@@geoffcarter I know. The flights are ridiculous at the moment and a couple of my friends have been recently. Hotel, Food and drink prices just don’t make for a cheap holiday like it was a few years ago. I’ll get back at some point, just exploring other places at the minute starting with Mauritius on Saturday👍

Flew A380 a couple of times. Fabulous upstairs. Dubai airport is huge. That’s a lot of walking 😮 hope you got home safe.

Just check flight prices for end of the month. £1100. Not a chance am i paying that price? So who knows?
@@geoffcarter aw I know it's terrible, before COVID I was paying no more than 2 grand to take us four to BKk with Emirates! I paid nearly 4 grand in August and 3.5 in April. I'm praying they come down to what they used to be but I doubt it, and I won't fly with anyone else 🙄

My goodness that trip has flown by. Missing connections and the hassle of a stop off is why I prefer a direct flight. I have just bought mine in the past hour, and I will be out in Pattaya in Mid January for a month mooching!

Got lucky with qatar couple of years ago . Only 45 minutes between flights arrival 10 minutes late 10 minutes to get off plane then the next gate probably in the next country. Didn't really expect to make it . But turn up gate 10 minutes before departure. Just walked straight on plane . Didn't really expect bags in Bangkok but surprisingly turned up. Wow lucky
