Jeez, I actually wanted to sleep but this was just too interesting. I agree basically with all your choices, definitely think that Collateral deserves more recognition (also agree with Shadow on the Sun, although Like a Stone comes in at a close second). I consider my favorites not necessarily to be the best films I've seen (for some of the best, like Come and See are almost impossible to watch twice because they are so gut wrenching), they are more like old friends you always look forward to seeing again. Long story short: 1. LA Confidential, 2. Lord of the Rings: Fellowship... 3. The Big Lebowsky, 4. Jura.ssic Park, 5. Leon: The Professional. P.S. Funny that you mentioned Satantango. I saw The Man from London, another Bela Tar filmr, in the theater. And it might have had the longest camera panning of a shipyard at night that I've ever seen. And just about when the scene was gonna change, the film burst on fire, and I was compensated. STill one of the best experiences I've had in a theater, and I still have to watch the remainder of the film.
If you like Sátántangó - I haven’t had the guts to commit to it yet - I’ve heard it mentioned a lot alongside An Elephant Sitting Still. It’s a very slow, four-hour Chinese film directed by Hu Bo, who took his life after its completion. I believe it’s still on Criterion Channel and Amazon Prime Video. I believe Hu Bo was mentored by Béla Tarr, too. Again, very slow - but I liked it, and there’s something so striking about its melancholy atmosphere.
Cool choices, I’ve got your top 5 films all on blu Ray thankfully My personal top 5 is: 5. The Third Man 4. Goodfellas 3. The Shawshank Redemption 2. Vertigo 1. The Godfather
I keep falling asleep before I get to your top 5 films so I still don’t bloody know what they are! I’ll have to play it from the time stamp for it some time.
You realy remind me of the ASMR nerd on youtube! The way you look and talk and even your tone is very similar! He is one of my fav asmrtist! And now you are added to my subs too! :D
I feel an re4 video would be really awesome, fantastic bosses and a lot of other “fights” where you have to fend off many enemies at a time in certain areas, lots of awesome areas throughout the game.
Also I wish the redux of Apocalypse Now was in 4K, that’s my favorite version of the trio, also this film was actually my first introduction to The Doors, now I’m love with The Doors.
I 100% just fell for the “Watch the video you casual” 😭
.
Nice to see a film fan that's not just going to list random Marvel movies and then like seven Nolan movies. I appreciate the taste
These always chill me out man, thank you for existing lmao
