12 Angry men, with henry Fonda. A raw dialogue between twelve men that make up a jury, are at their wits end trying to decide if an 18 year old boy is guilty of murdering his father. Highly interesting, no action just talking.

Let's Find Out ASMR I agree. I’m pleasantly surprised that you actually followed up on my recommendation, your videos have really opened up a broad outlet of fascinating subjects for me such as existentialism, the human condition, and the universe. Your enthusiasm for knowledge has had a compounding influence on my desire to explore these topics of interest that I have not really touched on before. I feel very mentally stimulated by your articulate construction of words and your soft deep tones are brain melting to say the least. Thank you so much

Dude check out Gangs Of New York, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Shutter Island and Wolf of Wall Street. All amazing Scorsese films. The Aviator is alright too but not everyone's thing.

I totally agree with you on the idea of liking movies that are at an optimal level. Never thought of it like that- but those are my favorite movies too- ones that really do their best in whatever they are doing. Singing, dancing, violence... almost like the best characture there can be, that's what they should be.

-Goodfellas is my all time favorite film!
I haven’t watched this whole video yet, but I’m wondering if you’ve ever seen Boardwalk Empire? Martin Scorsese was the executive producer & director of that show. It’s great! 🎥

I LOVED boardwalk empire. Prior to that show I had very little actual knowledge about the prohibition and it inspired me to read up on it more. Super super good show!~

I have always thought someone would remake the man from earth. it is such a captivating story. If you try to describe it, it is so hard to do it justice. I randomly watched it one day and have watched it a few times since as if it is on, I know I am in for a treat. It is such an amazing story line. Just amazing.

I’m not a horror fan either. I don’t get any entertainment out of it. Drama, action and comedy helps us see what life could be like acted out either in a protagonist or antagonist view. I think that is why I enjoy them, at least.

Barry Lyndon is a mesmerizing film. Easily my favourite Kubrick film. It’s definitely not everyone’s cup of tea. It’s an epic rags-riches-rags story of a con artist and a deep exploration of free will vs fate, the human condition and the consequences of ambition and greed.

For someone who is so interested in moral philosophy - and films about alienation and violence are a great way to study moral philosophy - then I'm surprised that Pulp Fiction isn't on your list. That's the ultimate film about definitions of right and wrong, all through the lens of extreme violence. Plus, it's hilarious. I'd also recommend Fellini's two great masterpieces - 8 and a Half and La Dolce Vita. They're all about man's role in the world, his capacity for good or evil and whether participation in the world (the creative drive, the love drive, intimate relationships) is even worth it, or whether withdrawal into apathy and cynicism is a legitimate response to meaningless. Fellini's humanism has gone out of fashion these days but I find both those films extraordinarily moving and beautiful.
