      Yes, and at 3:51 he is exploring the Jag, but then suddenly opens the door of the Rover, jeez with these editors... They must have been pretty embarrassed after they found out.

    Bought a Rover 75 CDTi ten years ago, too of the range model with all extras. Has never given me any problems lovely to drive very comfortable.
    Ok V6 needs bets changed but that still only £1600 for a class car.

      I've had a V6 Rover 75 Connie SE for a year. Comfortable car & I got the belts done for £891. Wish it had the wood package that the one is the review has, but it's got everything else.

    So tempted by the Rover but the bargain price is partly accounted for by the reputation for head gasket failure which Tif doesn't mention. I know its not all models/engines but I prefer petrol power in a 'luxury' car and it seems those are the worst affected. Was surprised to learn its a known weak point on the Bentley. The 6.75 engine has been around for decades I would have thought such a fundamental issue would have been commented on before, especially given the reputation of the maker and the high price of these cars. I've never owned one but not come across a head gasket failure on any 6.75 engine I've been aware of in the last 30 years.

      @johnj3577 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Head gaskets only fail on the 1.8 Turbo engine. You'd be very unlucky to have one fail on a V6, its a strong engine.

    Pity used car prices have gone up so much with the Pandemic.
    But I must say, don’t waste your time with a 2.5 S-Type. No shade cast on that motor, but if you’re going for that sort of thing, you’re better off in the Rover. The Jag desperately needs the V8. It’s most pleasant and effective with the AJV8 in either N/A or Supercharged form.

    Headgaskets every 50.000 miles in the Bentley?? If that is true, Bentley should be sued! It is a digrace.

      +Matthew Coupe Actually, the 75 is the pick of any modern Rover. BMW engineering actually made it more reliable than you'd think.

      Actually, the bits on Rovers that generally break are those from the BMW (3 series) parts bin - like fuel pumps. I've had 2 SD1's, an 827 Vitesse, a 200 BRM, an MG ZT 260 (the wife A ZR160) and have a 75 Connoiseur Tourer (which I kept as I preferred it to the 2015 Insignia Estate I got to replace it!!) and apart from HGF on the ZR (not really any worse the VW's HG failure rate) never had any problems with any of them. Sadly this country likes to put it's own produce down in favour of Chinese or german rubbish.

      The 75 tourer is still one of the best looking "estate" cars there is and i would have one tomorrow , working in a Garage as an MoT assistant I can tell you they are better made than a lot of high end BMW and Mercs . it`s a shame the Phoenix lot cut interior quality , plastic effect wood , cheap leather and the I`ll fitting front bumper .I regret selling my two Rover
      KV6 Sterlings , a Coupe and fastback and getting my jag xj sovereign , I never had any rust or problems with them , the Fastback having done 185k trouble free miles and every thing still working when i put it in storage, which i lost at short notice and had to scrap the car :)

      I was curious and I looked up the Rover 75 and apparently the V8 version has the old Ford 4.6L 2 valve in it. That engine is reliable enough to make a Toyota engine look like it was engineered by Fiat.
