It seems that the crimp is only holding the wire at either end. The traditional way of crimping holds the wire the entire length of the crimp. Unless there is something that I don't understand, I don't see the benefit of this because it looks less reliable. It is pretty and saves on crimp covers.
The Magical Crimper was designed specifically to work with 2mm x 2mm tubular crimps. The following brand diameters are tested and work: Flex-Rite: .020" Beadalon: .018" Soft Flex: .019" If you use a narrower diameter your crimp may not be secure.

so it only does 2mm crimp tubes. Not the 1mm or 3mm? And if your using thinner wire under .018 it won't work at all?
