Thanks for this video, I couldn't figure out why my crimping beads wouldn't work. No other videos that I watched mentioned that you needed different sized crimping pliers for different sized crimping beads. Now I feel a little dumb, but a lot more informed. :)

Thank you so much for such an enjoyable informative vid for us newbies. I inherited about a thousand or more loose beads in all colors, sizes, and style of bead. I knew nothing about beads or bead weaving, but am a paraplegic due to a fall in a nursing-rehab facility that I was in to recoup enough to go to assisted living. Still working on that but also doing my best to become a great beader since you don't need the use of your feet. I'm a new subbie,looking forward to some binge watching to learn everything I can. I haven't looked at your playlist yet, but I'm looking for a tutorial on bead names, how they are best used, where they can be bought, etc. Basically everything needed to put these gorgeous beads to use once I get them sorted at least by color and those that have at least 2 beads. My organization (2 month worth, so far,) has me already designing. I can't wait to get started.

Great explanation and video! I have recently started making beautiful necklaces for my wife and she loves them! Occasionally, I will be near the end of my project, and I guess I must use too much force on my crimping because I end up breaking the wire! Frustrating, but your video will definitely come in handy for my next project!! Thank you!

I have a question about the knots done to end a beading project. Sometimes you go through the loop once and sometimes you go through the loop twice. Is there some kind of rule that tells you when to go through once or twice ?

This is a good simple tutorial. I would love to know how to use scrimps effectively, as I don't have confidence to use them properly. I would love to know more about the correct type of beading materials to use for different sizes and materials.

Thanks so much for the informative video. I noticed your crimp covers went a little skewed when you closed them, pesky things do that to me too, but I endeavour to make sure the covers are as flush as possible with no edges catching on fabrics or hair.
Crimp covers love to do their own thing.

Hi, I was wondering if crimping with the flat nose pliers is stronger/weaker than crimping with the crimp pliers? I'm looking to make a beaded doorway curtain and have been researching tools/supplies/techniques. I have this query, perhaps a silly question, about the crimp beads/tubes.
How doesn't the bead/tube break while compressing it? Does any sterling silver small bead or tube work fine for crimp work or are these beads/tubes specially formulated for crimp work?

Hello there! If done properly, the crimp bead will be very secure, but if the crimp bead is squeezed too hard it can break or at least be weakened and could fail over time as the jewelry item is worn. Over-squeezing can also bite into the jewelry wire itself, causing it to fray or break, which will also weaken the jewelry item.

I want to use the crimping tool but I agonize over keeping the wires seperate in the crimp tube, (which is increasingly more difficult to do with the second half of the bracelet/necklace due to the beads now being so snug up to the crimp). Is it critical to have a certain amount of space between the wires so that after the first stage of crimping they sit in their own channels of the crimp tube, or is okay that the indentation of the crimp sits on top of the wires instead of completely seperating them? BTW, thank you for the vid☺.
You don't have to use crimping pliers but you do need the wires to run parallel inside the crimp. Some allowance for flexing of the wire is ideal but not so much wire that it's obvious to the eyes.

it is okay to cut the wire where it sticks out of the crimp? instead of stringing it through extra beads?
Yes it is. Sometimes the wire will not fit back through the beads but the crimp bead should be secure enough without threading the beads back through. - Allie Buchman.

I end up with too much wire, I can't seem to make the crimp bead stay close enough on the end, so that I don't end up with extra wire showing between beads. How can I prevent this>?

You will want to feed the wire back through the beads and pull the wire and hold while you crimp the tube
