Honestly, I'm not a fan of fps at all but I do like watching you two (from a distance)😲😳 as your banter reminds me of hanging out with my best mate that I haven't seen in 5 years. I've said it before but inXile has gone way out of order with the lawsuits over the word wasteland. I think their are 4/5 games that they've gone after so far. I would have watched this last night but I was on a bad rabbit hole trying to figure out where all the Zelda maps go on the the BotW one. After hours going down the wrong way I realised that from official sources that the bottom part of the Zelda II map is the top N.E of the BotW (from the path going upto the last woods down to the kakariko graveyard then across below the Zora domain). Which means the very first dungeon ever was where the Zora throne is now. It also means the top part of the Zelda II map and the eastern continent are out of the playable map in BotW (but do kinda line up with what has been mapped by people going out of bounds in BotW). I'm so good at staying on topic 😂
Bulletstorm is an absolute underrated masterpiece. I remember grinding the games online play, to get all achievements and 1000 gamer score, when it released on 360. Thank you so much for including it! Cheers gents, exactly what I needed after work!
I appreciate that they include Boltgun. I had it noted under my "to buy" list but then began thinking it was a RTS game, which is not my bag. Was gonna remove it. Glad I didn't, as it turns out it's a FPS. Who knew? Not me. Lol
So many good memories with Golden Eye on N64, like my first memories of my parents going out for dinner without me and letting me and my brother play the N64 during that time. We also used to play Perfect Dark. That was sooooo nice ❤
I’m terribly bad at this kind of games, so I must say they are not my favorites, but your natural and chill way of telling never fails to entertain, no matter what the topic is! This videos are such a nice moment of the day and the music you use deserves some love too ❤️
Another great list, you guys are killing this 12 days countdown with an absolute killing spree 😅 I love to see that Switch has such a fantastic lineup in one of my fav genres. Prodeus and Boltgun are sick in the best possible way 😈
Never played many console FPS games , and then I discovered gyro-aiming. Happy days! And yes it sucks that Bioshock doesn’t have it, such amazing games.
Another morning made infinitely more bareable by the fine SwitchUp crew with the witty banter and insight I've become accustomed to. I am rather keen on both the Bioshock and Crysis remastered Collections and its great to see the positives here towards them. Coincidentally I have just finished the main story in Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition and am enjoying the DLC; Guns, Love and Tentacles which, after a slow start, has managed to refresh the experience and provide a greater challenge. I can recommend starting the DLCs if you find the main story antagonists a little grating. However, personally I feel Borderlands 2 is the best experience for the series so I can recommend getting the Legendary Collection if you are interested. Eight days down, only five left, keen to see what they'll be. Cheers guys!
The first Metro and Bioshock 1 & Infinite are fantastic. Gotta say, Mark must he feeling rough - a whole video dedicated to first person shooters and he only says “gyro” twice?! Feel better soon dude
Seeing Doom being one of the best FPS series on the Switch is so satisfying! They've come a long way since the classic SNES games. In other news, I am looking forward to Star Wars: Dark Forces!
Boltgun is an excellent example of a throwback style. Used to love Doom with cheat codes and this brings me the same visceral joy. Def a festive season fav... The snow starts falling, and a cozy glow fills the air as we sit surrounded by the trappings of the holidays. Then time to whip out the ChainSword and maul all comers, slathered in gore, a pumping soundtrack the backbeat of the slaughter.
I’m pleased Dying Light got an honorary mention! Deffo not a straight up FPS so I get why it’s not in the main list, but it’s one hell of a game. Thanks guys, loving this series x
I spent many friday nights until 3am with mates on Goldeneye, with 4 TVs strung together and paper over 3 quarters of each screen. Great times but i think that game is best left as a memory now! Things have moved on so much but it's such a defining moment for 90s gamers!
12 days of Switch-mas is always a gaming highlight for the year 😂 keep up the great work, and fingers crossed for the 'Switch 2' next year and many more SwitchUp puns
I love watching people play fps games but I usually suck at playing them. That being said I really enjoy playing borderland games with friends. Great video keep up the good work!
I got borderlands this year in January and played through it with my brothers and was quite pleased with how it ran on the switch. I’d highly recommend any of them (though I’ve not yet bought or played borderlands 3 on the switch)
Bright memory looks incredible, I remember the demo but didn’t realize there was a full game on the switch out. Those graphics are so crisp you could bite into them
One of the first game types I remember playing on a computer as a kid. Lots of hour’s playing doom. Not a genre I play a lot anymore but I do still enjoy them.
Some really great games. Borderlands is the one I keep going back to. There are also some decent FPS roguelites available as well. It's not my favorite genre, but it draws me in from time to time.
@@huzcer Since you like Immortal Redneck (I do too), definitely check out Ziggurat 2 if you haven't already. The first Ziggurat is good, but I'd recommend just starting with the second since I feel like it's the better option. A lot of people love Risk of Rain 2, but for some reason it never stuck with me. Might be worth a try though if you haven't yet done so. One that's a bit different but a personal favorite of mine is Void Bastards. I know there are others as well but I'm blanking on them atm, lol. Hopefully this helps at least a bit?
I loved Borderlands 1 and 2 back in the day. Haven’t gotten around to try 3 yet, I’m waiting to pick it up when it goes on sale. So glad they brought it to the switch!
The jumper returns... 5/6 games that I've literally never heard of, which I feel like never happens anymore - Fashion Police looks insane. Seconding Untold sponsor segment, Golf Club Wasteland/Nostalgia was one of my favourite games I played this year.
to be fair Glenn, when i think of christmas related media the first thing that comes to my mind is that scene from "home alone" of the kid watching that ganster movie and the guy saying "merry christmas you filthy animal" so i say this video is very christmatsy for me
Dying Light, Nightmare Reaper, Chasm, Rico, Exodemon, Immortal Redneck. Genuinely surprised Dying Light was omitted. Not enough people know about Exodemon or Nightmare Reaper, it’s a shame. Glad to see Fashion Police though.
Great review. Merry Christmas everyone! As a whole, just looking at the variety of games you covered just reminds me how much fun can be had on the Switch and just with FPS alone. Now a days I think too much emphasis is put on how powerful a game console is. Nintendo has always been about fun games and this video proves that and on top of that you not only have the fixability to play these games on the TV but on the go as well on a system that has the best battery life of any major portable gaming console out there. The fact we are at this point with tech is definitely something I don't take for granted. Thanks again.
I absolutely love the quakes and dooms. I've no idea how dusk has slipped through the cracks for me but I'm all in. Love me some horror in basically anything.
I was worried that you forgot Void Bastards but your explanation at the end reassured my faith in the channel. Lovely list, can't wait to see what is next.
I know it's not a FPS but Rad Rodgers also let's you play as Duke Nukem, I think he was added later. Great FPS list and I have quite a few and now will have to add at least one of these I don't have.
I've been waiting for this video. Kinda hard to believe Switch has so many great ones. Quake 2 is one of my all time favorites, one of the first FPS games I've ever played back in.... LAN multiplayer matches with neighbours. Oh and also, Bioshock 1 and 2 are pretty much perfect games.
Great video guys. Love the format and gives me a great overview of the best FPS for switch. I don't even like FPS if I'm honest, but this vid makes me think I should pick up one or two!
I really liked void bastards a ton a real nice gameplay loop and a cool comic book art style it was really unique and I had a lot of fun with it. Seems like there’s more coming with the wild bastards announcement from a bit ago looking forward to it!
Day 8 was worth the wait. Duke nukem was originally on ps1, i' ve still got the disk. Still amazing how well the Borderlands games run on switch in handheld mode. Cheers
Probably my favorite Christmas memory is spending the whole 2 weeks off school playing Golden Eye while listening to angsty 90's music when I was in middle school. Simpler times.
I haven't yet found a first person game that I can play without feeling sick, but this was an enjoyable listen as always. I wish I could listen to these videos at work, it would make the 3am shifts a bit more bearable.
I’m just happy to have the Borderlands series. Trying so hard to love it during the Vita years knowing it only needed a tiny bit of time thrown at it. So worth the wait!
You guys are going to have so much fun with the rest of the borderlands franchise. Borderlands 2 was my favorite of the group. From todays games Ive been wanting to try Forgive Me Father and Boltgun for a while now, just waiting for a good sale
I've LOVED being able to play the Bioshock and Borderlands trilogies on a handheld. It makes my inner child just so happy. I will say that Prodeous and Bright Memory looks pretty awesome. I'll have to pick those up.
My favorite FPS on Switch is Crysis 2. I still remember completing it on PS3 with 15 fps drops. It looks and plays brilliant on Switch, Saber Interactive did a great job. I've finished it while commuting to work, so I'm certain that it's perfectly playable for such portable game console.
Man this one took me back to the day of playing duke nukem death match against my friend on the PC over the modem. Such good times. Once I got on the keyboard mouse controls I never looked back to consoles for FPS, but there are so many good ones on the switch I feel like I’m obligated to give one a go.
Awesome list, need to give that Warhammer a go missed that. Still waiting for the Orange Box collection and will finally have all the classics I need on Switch! (Maybe rare replay as well actually:-) )
Goldeneye and Duke Nukem brings back memories! Haven't played many FPS games on Switch, but I'll probably try to get through Borderlands at some point, as I've already bought it...
FPS games aren't usually my bag, but BioShock is a series I've always been fascinated with. It's great to still see people enjoying the Doom and Wolfenstein series' though, after all these years!
Duke Nukem is awesome, my favorite entry was duke nukem wolfenstien. I completely forgot about bioshock, I never played them before. I might wait for another sale before I pick it up, thanks again guys great video
I'd love to see a port of F.E.A.R on the switch - very good and original blend of horror and FPS. I recall decent jump scares and when you're holding a gun, led to a lot of wasted bullets in the moment 😩
I own and have played all of these apart from "dust" "fassion police" "power slave" and infinite. Infinate iv held off playing just because iv heard how short the game is, it isnt very long at all. Im hopeing they release some kind of dlc for it to bulk out the game and its length, then i will be all over it! I loved them all, the likes of bioshock amd borderlands really takes me back to the 360 days. I never got chance 2 play any of the wolfenstine games before they came on the switch, and i feel i really missed out and im so glad i got my chance to play them because they are great!!
Bioshock is my favourite game of all time. I strongly urge anybody who hasn't played it to give it a go. The story is brilliantly chilling, and setting is one of the most iconic in gaming. Damn it......I'm gunna play it again now!
Some good Christmas films on the list here 😊 I'm absolutely doing Gremlins this year and hopefully can fit in Die Hard too. I'm not massively a FPS guy these days but I do want to revisit some of the old classics on this list like Turok 1 & 2. I have delved in a bit of Quake recently though but I was always about Quake 3 arena on my Dreamcast, first online game for me with a keyboard and mouse to boot.
We attempted to watch Gremlins with my 8 and 11 year old daughters this past Halloween. Turns out it's basically just a drama for the first 80% of the movie. My pulled the plug on it after a half hour.
Bioshock is one of my most favorite series of all time. The music, environments, the ambience it just all adds up to make such a cool world. Played through them on PC but definitely worth the price on switch.
It's crazy because last night I was just thinking about what FPS game I should try during the Christmas break and this was your next video. I don't really play FPS games so this was nice and informative!
A genre I'm terrible at despite my real life being lived in first person. Thank you for the video. Doom 3 looks tempting even with my weakness in the genre.
@Pro Deus: I know what you mean by not using height to aim and hit. It was a technical limitation of Doom that actually was a "2D" game, so the game didn't calculate heights, just "showed" them. That's why there is no room above another room in doom, we just don't recognize is because of the ingenious level design.
You cannot go wrong with Bioshock mates. The collection goes on sale quite often and you're getting one of the best trilogies for less than a meal at Chipotle.
Wow I had completely forgotten about rise of the triad until seeing it in the video just now! I had no idea that was released on switch! That was one of my favorite pc games as a kid decades ago. Many others on here I didn't know about either actually which says a lot of good about fps games on switch. A few of these will be going on the wishlist for sure
I nabbed Wolfenstein Youngblood when it was dirt cheap and asked my buddy to grab it too so we could co-op it, but then we never actually played it. lol. We really should do that sometime, maybe over the holiday break. I loved Bulletstorm's original release. I bought it mainly for access to the Gears of War 3 beta. It surprised me though, it was fun and loaded with over-the-top moments and cheeky dialog. It's a good time and the Switch port is decent from what I've heard.
Not a genre I dive into all the time, but I do have the bioshock collection and 007 on the N64 online scratches the nostalgia itch in me. I definitely like the creepiness of the first bioshock and the maybe the scale of infinte.
Guys talking of PlayStation, do you remember 'Timesplitters'? I think it may have been PS2, I bought it and had a go for 15 minutes and it was making me feel sick, it seemed to be too fast and too colourful for me, lucky me took it straight back to the shop, because I was always in the shop the guy knew me and agreed to change it for me, can't remember what I changed it for. The good old days hey.
I love to see how many FPS games have come onto the switch the past couple years.. I remember when it was just borderlands and bioshock hah. Some awesome games in here!
On of my most memorable Christmas gifts was the n64 goldeneye bundle. I wanted it so bad but really didn’t think I was going to get it. Woke up and it was already set up and ready to go.
After Doom, Quake and Duke Nukem and you didn't immediately segueway into Ion Fury, I was about to kick up a fuss! Good job I carried on watching. Glad that game got some love. Great vid as usual gents 👍

Yeah, to me Bulletstorm, even with the janky insert of the Duke, is still a better Duke Nukem game than DNF.
Bolt gun, Bioshock, Borderlands, Goldeneye are all amazing games. I’m really glad you included Dusk also

Haven't played many FPS games on Switch, but I'll probably try to get through Borderlands at some point, as I've already bought it...
Doom 2016 got me back into FPS, was a breath of fresh air when it released
FPS games aren't usually my bag, but BioShock is a series I've always been fascinated with. It's great to still see people enjoying the Doom and Wolfenstein series' though, after all these years!
Missed some of these gems, thank you guys for showcasing them. Keep up the good work
Duke Nukem is awesome, my favorite entry was duke nukem wolfenstien.
That's a fantastic game, been replaying it on Xbox recently, would love to see it on Switch! 👍
For real! FilmUp! Mark
Got to be careful with Gremlins and watching with believers as there is one scene in it where myself and my wife talk over it purposely. 😅
We attempted to watch Gremlins with my 8 and 11 year old daughters this past Halloween. Turns out it's basically just a drama for the first 80% of the movie. My pulled the plug on it after a half hour.
Heh. Im gonna watch Diehard too. It's been a while since i've watched it. I think i'll watch Diehard 1,2 and 3 back to back.
@@Ser-Smiley I watched Violent night last night 🤣 was a slow start but got into it nearer the end.
the duke nukem impressions were spot on holy hell 😂
Bioshock is one of my most favorite series of all time. The music, environments, the ambience it just all adds up to make such a cool world. Played through them on PC but definitely worth the price on switch.
Great list! Not my go to genre of games, but I did used to love playing Duke Nukem on PS1
Oh my, I remember the screenshots for Rise of the Triads in the 90’s!!! I’m really looking forward to the Dark Forces release.
Not a genre I dive into all the time, but I do have the bioshock collection and 007 on the N64 online scratches the nostalgia itch in me. I definitely like the creepiness of the first bioshock and the maybe the scale of infinte.
Not a genre i play too often, but thanks for another great video 😊 you two are hilarious! Gremlins is one of the best xmas movies ever!
TimeSplitters 3 is my most wanted game on the Switch.
Timesplitters was so damn good. Mark
@@SwitchUpYt ouuhh god nooo, it made me awfully sick, you rebels !!
Completely forgot how much I enjoyed Bulletstorm. Thanks for the throwback gents!
I love to see how many FPS games have come onto the switch the past couple years.. I remember when it was just borderlands and bioshock hah. Some awesome games in here!
Great list of games. Love a good pick up and play first person shooter.
Metro is my favorite, I’m so glad even on switch they managed to build up that dark ambiance
On of my most memorable Christmas gifts was the n64 goldeneye bundle. I wanted it so bad but really didn’t think I was going to get it. Woke up and it was already set up and ready to go.
Rage wars! That was so fun, it was like almost an Unreal/quake experience.
After Doom, Quake and Duke Nukem and you didn't immediately segueway into Ion Fury, I was about to kick up a fuss! Good job I carried on watching. Glad that game got some love. Great vid as usual gents 👍
BioShock is always my comfort game for FPS. Been playing the New Game Plus multiple times.
Never, ever thought I'd have Doom Eternal on a handheld! My favorite FPS ever! Love it!
