Some banging tunes in this one - a thanks to all of you watching, I am currently flying across the ocean about to go on holiday hopefully! Let us know what Soulslikes you enjoy. Mark
Aggro crab (devs of Another Crabs Treasure) have announced on discord that they are aware of and just as disappointed in the game's performance in handheld that they have brought on a third party team to bring its performance to the level they want. This may take a while but I am a patient gamer with a mountainous backlog to keep me entertained until then. Hopefully they achieve the performance necessary and deserving of the game.🤞
I would suggest Tails of Iron. The games feels like playing a 2D Dark Souls, has some Metroidvania elements and the combat is phenomenal. I recently finished it and absolutely loved it.
Great video. I remember asking for this exact same thing a good while ago and here we are! Not meaning you did it because I asked lol, but just how cool it is that you guys are in tune with what people want to see. I knew most of these aside from hellpoint, and I gotta say that one does intrigue me. Thanks!
Switch 2 boutta be something because most devs want to put their games on switch 1 but are limited by the hardware. It just needs to be almost as capable as a PS4 and it will be alright.
I saved up for a standard steam deck. It's $50 more than an OLED and 60gb. I picked up a 500gb SD ($40-$50), and now I'm not disappointed during a direct or patiently waiting for a switch port that never comes. I only own 2 games and it's by far the best decision I've made.
@@AdmiralBeethoven plus you can still have your switch to play. I'm not sure how much longer until they release a switch 2. It could be next year, 2026 or 2027. Nintendo is unpredictable.
another's crab treasure is a game that i really would love to play, but since i play exclusively in hand held mode i have to wait for a performance patch
I played the entire thing start to finish in handheld, and it’s actually alright. A bit stuttery, but it’s fine. If you’re not that bothered about things looking super crisp, it’s decent as it is and it’s currently on a fat sale so I’d say take the plunge!
I watched this video a week ago and discovered Ashen, which was on sale for $10. Thank you for that! Your Mortal Shell review led me back to the eshop, and that's on sale for $4.49! US eshop. Thanks again, fellas!

I wasn’t a fan of Blasphemous, the art style didn’t do it for me. But the game play was exceptional. If a souls metroidvania is your thing, you won’t be let down.
Its so funny the initial image with the Lego Dark Souls haha, well ini my opinion its not a bad game to own, of course its better in other platforms, but we can play anywhere we want and on the go, this is priceless
I've only just started Elden Ring myself and it's really kick-started a love of soulslikes. Now I've started Dark Souls, Blasphemous 2 and I've just got Mortal Shell today for nothing thanks to a sale and my gold points.
@@madalice5134 It's on my wishlist, just need to whittle down the backlog a bit more before taking the plunge, but I have heard very good things about it.
The video I've been waiting for!!! I'm planning on starting Blasphemous on my next day off. When I start a Soulslike I know I'm going to want to want to spend hours with it and it's my way of treating myself for not throwing thinga at customers when I'm at work. 😅
Souls like for me is. Regenerating enemies with sparse safe points, level and skill progression, gear, and clever maps. But more importantly. An exploration world
How about pascal s wager? Got it on my backlog. I got remnants and dark souls too, but i took remnants without knowing it was a soulslike, and i had to try 3different characters on dark souls ,just so i wld end up fleeing and screetching at the sight of the first big monster, plus i died by an arrow 2 s later, bc i was so busy fleeing, i ddnt pick up the shield. That game terrified me.😅
Going with the Pyromancer class is usually a good one for starting Dark Souls. I kept bouncing off of Dark Souls when I first played it, till I listened to a friend and started a Pyromancer build because it's OP and can help you find your feet in the game and you can respec to a build you may find more enjoyable once you feel like you've gotten the hang of things. I hope you go back into DS. The experience is so unique and incredible, and the Souls community can be really great and supportive, despite the "git gud" types that you hear about. Most players are really passionate and will jump at the chance to help other players with tips, strategies and secrets.
@@madalice5134 yeah i noticed most are awesome. I saw some videos about elden ring and was saying i wish i cld play it since it looks so amazing, but since what happened to me in DS i was like ," forget it ,i m gonna die all the time." Thank u! 😊👍 (Plus i ddnt try that class yet. )
Still working through the first Blasphemous. It's definitely a game that you need to give a bit of time to get a rhythm before it becomes fun because you'll die a lot.
Definitely try Inferno Climber. A fairly hardcore souls like with cute graphics and permadeath. Very much feels like Dark Souls with its rpg mechanics.
Apparently it was garbagio when it first released. They ended up doing a second release (the only one I've played) and I found it to be really great. Was cheap too
Speaking of Ashen. The devs of that game have released a new game on PC and other consoles, Flintlock Siege of Dawn that i have been enjoying alot. It's abit more God Of War 2018 than dark souls, but with abit more flow that I enjoy, especially the jumping and dodging it utilizes that I find alot more fun than in the traditional soulslike
I highly recommend Death's Door to anyone who has been thinking of dipping their toes into the Soulslike genre. If it wasn't for that game I wouldn't have been brave enough to try Dark Souls Remastered, nor be over 100 hours into my first Elden Ring playthrough right now and having such a blast.
Don't know why we never got the rest of the Dark Souls games on the Switch, especially since Miyazaki said that they had DS3 running on the Switch at a level he was satisfied with and this was back in Dec '16 if memory serves.
Yeeeessss git gud scrub!! Love Souls games, I live in hope for ports of FromSoftware games to the Switch 2 or I'm investing in a handheld PC and/or PS5 and Portal. I'll be sharing this video with my Souls addict brother. Thanks gents!!
Another thing that makes a souls like might be, one difficulty, and new game plus makes for harder difficulty, losing your currency once you die. I agree with you on the others, and builds that can go for many games, but any souls game I've played I've mastered a build. Hard world conditions like demon souls.
I really don't have the patience for this genre, i play games for fun and coming up against a wall of difficulty i can't get over isn't fun and that always happens with me and Soulslikes, the only one i managed to get into was Lies of P, i've tried so many others and none have clicked
I would recommend Grime,Vigil the longest night, And deaths gambit! I'm a bit of a soulsvania nerd. But first and foremost Grime!!! It's one of the best 2d deflection based souls likes
Salt and Sanctuary is a classic 2D Dark Souls. First boss is annoying but it's to be expected of a soulslike where the early game is the most difficult. Haven't played the sequel yet but I heard it plays different? Less soulslike and more monster hunter?
Chronos Before the Ashes is from Remnant from the Ashes developers. It's kind of in the same universe but was made for VR then ported to other systems. Remnant is better better but Chronos is meant to be solo if you prefer that.
Unrelated to this topic in the video but have you guys ever played a game called Sea of fools ? It’s a great co-op game . Not sure I’ve ever heard you guys mention the it but I might have missed it.
Dark Souls really is like the granddaddy litmus test, and it looks and runs great on Switch. A little hitchy in Blighttown, but it's like that on all platforms. :D
