This cast really good, the only one I can't get used to the Aaron Burr actor he doesn't have the angst? of Leslie Odom Jr., basically that intense emotion because his songs have a lot of tonal shifts he needs more emotions IMO
I have to say, although Giles Terera is bursting with energy and charisma, his vocals aren't suited to the role of Burr for me, I much prefer the role to be performed with more of the hip-hop swagger that Leslie Odom Jr. just emanated, plus I can't imagine him being able to capture the emotion of songs like Dear Theodosia or The World Was Wide Enough. I really like Simon-Anthony Rhoden, he played Burr when I saw it in the West End in mid November, it was the first week of the new cast and I think he was far more suited to the role.
I love him he was the reason Hamilton came to my attention. As wrong as this sounds, when I saw this cast at Olivier I thought this was the cast that started this musical. So going from watching Jamarl to then watching Lin perform it (at first) I was like “huh, Lind not a great singer compared to Jamael” but I know Lin can sing and is GREAT. But I don’t know how to explain it besides that was my first impression from the first time I saw this west end cast to the first time I saw broadway version years ago and now I love both versions
He is good but I guess everyone saying that they don’t like him just prefer the og cast😂 I do prefer the original cast as well tbh but if I went to see it live I wouldn’t care which cast it is😂
The Aaron Burr here is much better when it comes to having evil vibes. He freaking sounds like an evil politician. I can totally see him perform exceptionally in The Room Where It Happens. But Leslie Odom Jr. is better in expressing Burr's emotions. You can really see that in Dear Theodosia and Wait For It. That's only my opinion.
@@caitlinbrennan9039 I can understand why you can! I saw him a few months back and he absolutely blew it outta the water with his softer songs, like Dear Theodosia and wait for it!! Amazing comedic timing too!
@@supersexygal01 I think it's called a palatal lisp that he has, one where his tongue is too far back in his mouth when pronouncing the letter 's'. But yes it's Giles Terera the original WE Burr, he left the show in November 2019.
This cast's Burr is good don't get me wrong, but I feel like he just doesn't give off the same vibe like I imagine him singing Dear Theodosia, Obedient Servant, Non-stop, The World Was Wide Enough, etc. It just doesn't feel right if its not Leslie. Leslie was just too good. Well, I haven't actually seen the play so I might be wrong.
no offence but the og cast is the best! this cast is good but from my experience in theatre, this cast barely shows any emotion?! Anyways, still a good performance!
I like everything about Jamael except the way he pronounces his a in "Hamilton", it's too close to the British pronunciation, or maybe I'm just used to hearing it in the upper Manhattan/Washington Heights accent of Lin-Manuel Miranda.
I loved the cast and I genuinely don’t care about how people felt about them. But my one genuine criticism is the accents. I mean they really didn’t need to force the American accent, especially when (typically) when the Brits sing their accents virtually disappear. And even if it was just a british accent I really don’t think anyone would’ve cared, they didn’t ask to have the accent.

I love the sound quality on this version, even more than the broadway cast recording, like damn.
Pádraig O'Leary what?? No one can top Leslie Odom Jr. and Daveed diggs
Oh I'm not saying anything one way or other for the cast, I'm just saying I prefer the quality of the audio here

I saw Giles Terera in The Book of Mormon and he was very good.
@@badmariamedia only thing I’ve seen him in was Horrible Histories, really liked him in that 😊
@@TheTradge Oh I've not heard of that.
@@badmariamedia CBBC programme that was on about 10 years ago, very funny 😄
Dear god he's tall
I dunno why but this comment is so funny to me
Who Greg Davies? Yeah he’s 6’8
Why does no one like Jamael? 😂 he’s amazing!!!

"Perform the best song from Hamilton, you've got 4 minutes, your time starts now!"
Legendary lucky u if u saw exactly that cast !
I saw the new cast in November, they were fantastic as well 😊
this cast is incredible live
And Lafayette in the original is so precious
Ahhhh!! I'm seeing it on the 9th May and I just can't wait!
Jealous 😂🤣 I lost the opportunity to watch it on PuertoRico
Wait for it
Yee I met the cast yesterday!! They where so lovely and kind ☺️☺️
This cast... 💖💖👑💖💖TOPS!!

God I ADORE this Burr
I hate his voice ugh

CaiTheSpaceAce wait for it!!!
CaiTheSpaceAce this Burr is a cinnamon roll
I saw someone on reddit (can't remember their user sorry) say that Trey playing Hamilton should be called Trey. Ham, and I love that
I like Burr in this but he shows less emotion than the original and I prefer my small cinnamon roll, Lin instead of this tall guy
Hey hey hey it’s Magic nothing beats the original broadway cast... 👍🏻😀
Gracie he’s trying his hard though
Is this the burr who got a lisp or is that me hearing it slightly in his voice? And which burr is this? The original west end burr right?

The voice of that Burr tho...... ohhh I don't know
He won an award for that performance so...
I don't know either...no one deserves to be that great and show it off that wonderfully.
hamilton in this great, scotsman makes sense

I like this cast as much as the original, especially Angelica, Eliza, aNd pEGGy ( I don't really agree with Hamilton though )

Ok so I I’m dumb and don’t know what an “ Olivia Award “ is what is it?
It’s the British version of the tonys
R some of the characters the same as broadway for example John Laurens? Is it the same actor
No.
Nope. John in this is played by Cleve September
Why does Burr sound like he has a lisp?
Bath Time Becky he does that’s why
Clu -ee 😂😂 a good answer
Me molesta mucho el fact de que no pudieran el momento de sexual tension entre Laurens y Hamilton >:v
Giles
Wow robotics is really advanced nowadays, given Aaron burrbot can't display emotion yet and can only sing one note most of the time but still.
