- First off let me say THANK YOU to all that have joined the lab and helped us get there we are today. Content is based of viewer questions and comments. And will continue to be. In this case this upgrade is so we can do some testing as requested by viewers specifically on 10Mhz references. So as always more is on the way.

We dive into the fundamental workings of a Curve Tracer, demystifying its functions for beginners and enthusiasts alike.
A Curve Tracer is an essential tool for electronic engineers, aiding in the analysis and characterization of semiconductor devices such as diodes, transistors, and integrated circuits. As well as anything else that has interesting V/I characteristics.
** Repair exposes the Tech to mains electric and should only be done by trained personnel. Errors can be fatal. **
Great video as always. I'm shocked (not literally) that you don't have many times more subscribers. If anyone asks for advice on electronic knowledge, I will not hesitate to recommend your channel. It would be interesting to see a few of you guys that are extremely talented and helpful get together once in a while and bounce ideas off each other. Not like a pissing match, just different ways to approach troubleshooting techniques.
The subscriber count will grow in time, Thanks for being a part of the process. That could be interesting would love talking with other tech to see what I can pick up, always trying to learn new things.
Very clear and understandable, thank you. I'm gonna check out some other stuff from you.
Excellent glad we can help!
Great explanations. Thanks.
Wonderful educational material. Great stuff, I'll be sharing this to some others.
Excellent glad you liked.
Thank you for this! Maybe a spectrum analyzer basics next if you have not already done that?
I'll get this added to the list.
@ZenwizardStudios I appreciate it!
I just picked up a 576 that I will be learning to use while referencing your video. I plan to get a spectrum analyzer as well and would love to do the same.
@@solodolo6018 There is a manual you might want to check out as a getting started " Tektronix 577 Device Testing Techniques" This was written for the 577 but the 577 and 576 have VERY close controls but with a slightly different layout. They go through the evaluation of a 2n3904 with a lot of the parameters and testing. But it also gets in to some test equipment setup up for the various testing that a curve tracers can preform. I still reference this document from time to time as needed.
Love the Video- maybe you could show what the ext base input is for on the test fixture. I assume a signal could be injected like an audio signal - but I guess the bandwidth is limited.
I might also make a video about mine - I have some examples with failed components and different types of failure - like partial failures.
thank you for the explanations on how this work. I have never used one but always curious, someone close by has one for sale for 1500.00 but with broken/missing shaft and knobs for the max peak/series resistance control. But not sure if it's worth it as it is or not.
not for 1,500 no way. 1500 to 3500 for a full restored calibrated tuned and functioning unit. Next video out will be a buying guide with a LOT of things to watch out for.
