- In this video we take a look at some different curve tracers as well as some power silicon scavenged from some UPS units that were broken down due to low wattage they were only 700 Watts. So some component testing is done and some transistor knowledge is gained.
*Spoiler alert* What was pilled was high current diodes and IGBT transistors.

I just love these videos because I have a large number of Tektronix hardware for the 500 series mainframes and 7000 series scopes I have picked up over the years. These videos of yours are just wonderful to watch because I can learn so much seeing things done by you and this has been an enormous help in getting myself motivated once again to work with the old iron. Lab grade equipment I can afford - yep its very old, but so well made. All my equipment still works, but not within original specs. Fortunately that has not been a real problem for me and after watching how you do some of the realignment have hope one day I may get some of this equipment into better calibration. Some time back I picked up a 5CT1N thinking it was for a 7000 frame. I had to buy a 5000 scope so I could use it (and I didn't stop there, adding some more plug-in's for another great line of Tek scopes). I was so impressed with what I could get out of just the 5CT1N and was able to download some comprehensive documentation from Tektronix on semiconductor testing/characterization using these instruments. Great fun! Maybe one day I will be able to meet up with the big guns like you have on your bench but for now will enjoy the next best thing! Thank you for these great videos!
Can show on the settings?
Like the ones on the 177
When to use open emitter, …..?
I will see what I can do.
